Eye test. Tanner McKee outplayed Book by a mile. Book should be gone after the trash "performance" Just an awful QB.In my view,he would require too much work put in for the little dividends he would pay. McKee is a nice one,he can grow into a 2. I would put my effort there. I really saw no redeeming things from Book that would make me want to keep working with him when I have Tanner on tap. LB is an issue after Bradley got hurt. I hope Howie is scouting for more help. IMO he really needs to break tradition and get some young high draft picks in here. We have the picks next year. He seriously needs to think about investing at the position more than he has been. Ham is ready to trash Sermon,I am not. Book missed him on a pass route by a mile(not Sermons fault) for what could have been a 4th conversion. Sermon got a TD and did a fair (not great) job with the JV Oline. I am not ready to write him off yet,but he needs to elevate his game if he wants to play with the big boys on this team. WR Cleveland looks like a kid that will bloom in time. No clue what his ceiling is,but he looked good even playing with the JV's. Some nice DB play by young kids, nice to see, again too early to know.ST unit was disappointing to me. Maybe time for a new coach there. Either his coaching is bad or he's not choosing the right players to play on ST. Although not the biggest facet of the game,it needs to be addressed

McKee looked really good. Book needs to go away by Monday. Just useless dead weight. I wouldn't even wait on that call. I hope Siri makes the same call and boots him out

That’s because you aren’t thinking about playing two more PS games. But I guess Mariota could take first half and McKee second halves of the two remaining..‘games.’

More moronic comments(they never end) This comment from the man who wanted Reagor over my NUMBER ONE IN THE NFL WR JJ. Reagor was a round 1 and expected to be a WR 1,Coutee was a 4th rounder,no comparison whatsoever. If you want to talk about "noone special" look to most of your WR choices LOL. I never said he was special I said he was an UPGRADE over the NON SPECIAL WR:s we have. The lesser WR's you mentioned are nothing special other than they play for the Eagles. Whatever opinions I post you just MUST disagree with even when you are seriously wrong.Yes in order to gain stats you need to play. The lesser WR 's we have have no stats either, SO???????? If you can't identify an upgrade, then I can't explain it to you.You go out of your way to make pointless points.Covey,Cain,Cleveland have less stats than Coutee who also has experience. We probably won't get him anyhow because Howie won't spend even a little on another BU WR,but to overlook the fact he would upgrade to the room just to disagree is beyond ridiculous. No need to get Coutee right away, let the other guys work, but if there is room and 1 or more suck what do you have against getting him? Merely pointing out he is an upgrade RIGHT NOW to the room. He's on par with Zachheus IMO and would be a decent BU for Smith

Now you just putting false quotes on me. I didn’t want Reagor over JJ. You’ve accused me of this 100 times now. It’s a weak tactic to just try and take me down by falsifying my statements. I’m man enough to admit you were all about JJ. I can give you credit even though this how you are being towards me. My track record on WR choices is outstanding though. Most every year I’ve had sone very good choices. DeAndre Hopkins in the second and on and on….but I do also admit to having many doubts about JJ. It’s not that I ever thought he sucked. Just thought he was the second best WR on his own college team. Also was seeming he would strictly project to a slot guy in the NFL. Pedey and our team needed speed badly. It’s more crucial to certain O schemes. Having two TEs felt like an outside guy was more of the team need. Which is a factor always. But I never stated Reagor over JJ. That’s plain false. Shame on you. I just thought there were like 7 WR I felt about all the same. So trade back to the beginning of the second round to get whichever of those 7 remained. I’ll also admit Reagor was a part of that group to trade back to the second round for. His speed was a big factor on him. With him it was all based on potential. He was a swing for the fences type pick. Far from polished. Had terrible QBing and O in college. So probably overestimated how much that was holding him back. But I don’t even think Reagor was my top guy of the 7 to trade back for. Figured JJ would be picked before the second though. So he wasn’t a part of the seven second round options. Turned out several of those second round options worked out really well.

Of those two LSU WR I still think JJ is second best. Seems like it turned out maybe those two are 1 and 2 of the entire NFL.

last pre game starters should play some.. Got to get the rust off and make some contact. Book is crap,no need for him to embarrass the other guys trying to make the team

Jalen Carter was the guy I craved for us to get. FL was totally against it. So we’ll see how that plays out.

LOL no false quotes just PAGES and PAGES of you telling me how Reagor was your pick over JJ(we need the outside speed you said). I wasn't alone(I was just first lol). 99.9999% had him as our pick that Howie whiffed. Howie listened to Ham. The only false part is your refusal to admit it. Now man up and say it's true(because it is).  Some team will get lucky and pick up another JJ  in Marvin Harrison jr. You heard it here first. If he has any kind of decent season he will be sought after #1 WR off the board. Then you question if Keke Coutee, a 4th round pick with experience, would be an upgrade over some journeymen camp bodies. So we don't get him but he's still an upgrade over some on our roster. Starters,Ward,Quez/Zaccheus are fine. Cleveland looks good. Adding Coutee would be an upgrade over those that are left. So 3 starters and 4 BU's and one on the PS

I wasn't against it,now look who lies HAHAHAHA His arrest concerned me and it should have concerned you too as it did most sane people until the true facts came out. So a liar calling me a liar doesn't bother me at all. he got off easy because of who he was(and you know it)

Team obviously knows Carter is a stud. Took him out after just two snaps of his first PS game. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen that protection of a rookie before. But he’s a beast! His first play he said he was thinking of an outside move pass rushing. But felt the G heavy presence so he changed plans on the fly to adapt and hit the QB. QB chucked it to avoid the sack. But those plays can be better than a sack..it can turn into a fumble..or interception. Incredible start for this kid. Can’t believe we got him.

It is a straight lie by you. I just didn’t think any WR remaining at our pick stood out enough to not trade back to the second round in such a WR heavy draft. I was correct about several quality WR being there in the second by the way.
Now if you bothered to read…or maybe it’s just process…my posts….you’d have read that I came back and actually stated how I could see you having the opinion on Coutee. I base it on we have four locked in WR. Figure on keeping two more WR. One big guy and one speed option/returner. So in that light of the decision making…Keke would be trying to beat out just Allen and Covey for that job. I could see how you could think he could beat those two out for that position.

But just read my posts before overreacting endlessly. Falsely quoting my thoughts about Reagor. At least with Keke I’m not for it.  But I did come back and state I could see your point with him.

Bradley out for the season. Tough blow. ST leader. LB room is so light as it was. Guess we probably keep both Jack and Cunningham after all. Really just elevated the position of Ellis. He’s become a crucial part of this year’s team now.

Miami signs massive loser Coutee. Gee that didnt take long, but what do I know?

Trey lace looks awful, he's losing his starting job

You know some things, for sure. I just think you get excited about most any guy that pops up being available. Just suggest being a bit more judicious in your choices to got our team. That part applies more to many others you’ve gotten excited about than Keke though. Keke it was possible he could have beat out our two young completely inexperienced speed returner options in Allen and Covey. But my two cents is no big loss. Heard rumors that he isn’t real bright. So only get Go Routes and  returns from him. I’m not even confident in my opinion on choosing between the three, to be honest. I lean on the largest upside guy with the least experience. So if we brought in Keke, have to believe all these years he’s played in the NFL he’d beat Allen out today. I just lean towards believing in Allen’s potential. He hasn’t been doing football full time with the best coaches. So by choosing him….it’s mostly based on thinking with the great coaching and committing full time to the job…he could/will blossom quickly and very noticeably. Where as Keke peaked already. His best probably better than Devon’s beginning. So all I need from Devon is to show he can get past the point of being a huge liability for the week one game. Additionally Covey isn’t bad. He’s just small. Didn’t do anything special last year. But he isn’t a liability. Which is something. Obviously got a think he’ll easily grow…getting the job done growth….he always going to be tiny.

Was crazy they invested so much in him. Assume you meant Trey Lance. Just couldn’t see how anybody could spend a first round pick on such a known developmental player.

Niners would have been a dynasty(again) if they had just made any decent decisions at QB.  Made so many great decisions on personnel. Have the QB guru and offensive genius as their HC also. Whole league is fortunate. So obvious that with just decent QB play they can’t be beat. Having Jimmy G not make a huge mistake late they could go far. Just getting a guy of the level of Purdy might be enough for them to win a title now.

His ceiling was last WR spot on the team. Not that major of any potential loss. Talking sixth WR here. Returner is the biggest job he could have contributed.

  • Author

His longest return had been 18 yards at that.

  • Author

But Miami is a good fit for him. They really focused on speed WR O scheme. So being a backup there he shows much more value. Still think he is fifth WR on their depth chart..at best.

  • Author

But they’ve designed everything around utilizing all their speed weaponry. Speed you just can’t teach. So having Keke could save them from completely changing their whole O.

We’ve chosen Covey. Rostered him and utilized him all last season. So optimistically gotta believe year two that begins to pay off. If our ST coach is any good. Which I honestly question. Can’t find a P. Those guys don’t even cost anything investment wise. Coverage units haven’t been special. Actually looked bad at times. Remember how Ellis was a mandatory addition because it was an issue. Ellis is great ST. But really thinking our ST coach needs higher numbers of ST specific players based on his talent, than quality ST coaches. He hasn’t had any returns produced on kickoffs or P. None I can recall..correct me if I’m wrong. So the only area is kicking field goals. No blocks allowed. Snaps and holds haven’t failed. Elliott has been spectacular. Elliott was already money before the ST coach arrived however. So how much credit applies to the ST coach that just inherited a great K? I believe Elliott has his own K guru he actually goes to anyway.
