The sweet and sour feeling of being an Eagles fan.

When Wentz is on, I think we can hang with anybody. But when he's off, we wallow in the muck with the Cowboys and Giants.

Our defense has to be better in the second half of the season. But I don't think it has to be much better if Wentz finds his groove.

I think it all comes back to the offense. Our D one of the the top teams at getting pressure/sacks on the QB first half the year. We have a CB who can lock up a teams best WR and honestly done great vs RB for the most part.

The D generally seems to fall apart after the O keeps turning the ball over or goes 3 and out consistently.

Dont get me wrong thing the D is maybe only slightly above avg. but if the offense can get on track that will be fine.

Need to get back to controlling the clock time of possession... Keeping drives alive don’t always have to score every drive but getting a first down just keeping our D off the field and rested not putting them in terrible positions.

I don’t foresee our D creating a ton of turnovers but think they will do their job to keep teams from scoring think we can keep most teams around 20 points as long as the O protects the ball and sustains some drives

But can we beat the giants? Don’t know about that either.

Over reacting on the Giants they are a bad team sub par offense and a OL we achieving defense.

Csnt wait to see us play NY hopefully have most of our starting OL LT/C/RT at least possibly our LG(that would be huge) so only backup would be Herbig filling in for Brooks.

Miles Sanders giving us an actual ground game as long as we run him

trio of Fulgham/Reagor/Alshon at WR at least on paper will be the best WRs Wentz has had all year.

Add in Geodart with a game under his belt after his injury and the extra rest he should be much better shape to play.

Really again should be no excuses for Wentz and the offense not to be successful.

Didn't we say that going in to the Dallas game? Going up against an awful defense. Getting a few key players back. And yet it was one of his worst games yet.

You’re a prisoner of homerism. Going by missed snaps connected to salaries we have been ranked as 9th most injured. That’s a significant amount of injuries to deal with....but not the worst at

Snaps per salary....lol.   but having guys take their first NFL snaps without getting the 1st team practice reps is no big deal?   We all know salary means everything.  Nobody in the NFL is overpaid or underpaid...they are fit in perfectly and are paid exactly as per how good they actually are...lol.

Great spins... the OL as a unit has played poorly,  regardless of individual performances on certain plays..  the bar is becoming lower and lower now for these guys.  Who gets the official blame on giving up a sack or hurry on a stunt? Or a blitz.   I'm not much on individual grades when the eye test is easily showing the pocket getting pushed back and defenders getting to the QB.  Maybe a TE or a RB that can block might also help?   But injuries to Sanders and Goedert are important because they don't make high salary????

BG, I love your enthusiasm.  O caution though as per Dallas game when your expectations for the " dominant " performance of all these young kids.

It looks good on paper with all these names. But takes time to get all the pieces working well together.  Especially all these guys not being 100% physically and back for 1st game.   We should make enough plays to win the game.  I'm not expecting 30 points though.   However, if these guys can come back and get the work in, in a couple of weeks we may see that. When they go from Wednesday to Sunday with a group that they know will play that week, not " game time decision or possibly limited playing time"   Until it stabilizes somewhat,  especially on the OL, where they practice and play a 2nd week in a row together, I'm not expecting anything big.  Successful enough to win, sure, but nothing crazy yet.

Yep.  That was basically the point of that thread in TATE, that on paper we should have expected a dominant performance by the offense regardless of the missing pieces since Dallas's defense was giving up points in historically bad proportions.  But I think deep down we all knew it was going to be more of a struggle than it should have been.  That was partly due to really bad play by Wentz but also really bad play calling by Doug.

A few caveats. First, Dallas' defense has played a lot better over the last three games, and the Steelers scored the same amount of points that we did. Second, the wind was a factor. Third, he threw two interceptions that should have legitimately been TDs. Hightower didn't track the ball very well on the first one, and Reagor gave up on the second one. Plus Reagor dropped another TD.

Obviously the first fumble was inexcusable, but the second one was on a fourth down where the Cowboys were going to get the ball anyway.

Let's see how we end up and how Carson does the rest of the year.

What young kids lol Jason Peters, Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce, Geodart who what 3rd year in the league(4th) Possibly Semaulo, Wentz, Alshon with what 2 weeks now bye and now this week leading up to the game mmmmm

Also never through the word dominant though again we should no excuses said successful and we again should have dominated Dallas

DC said his farewell as the old board was closing.  He was involved in a lot of other forums it seems.  Great with the updates and the humor.   Miss him, but he knows where to find us.

IDK, I just disagree.  Lane is not the usual Lane if he comes back, let him get some time in.  Seamulo not expecting to play, and if so, not 100% and still his first game back... and he was solid, not top tier to begin with, but really liked the way he handled Donald before getting hurt.  Not a knock, I like him on the team, just that he isn't a guy I expect to just step in and take over a game.   Still have the WRs that haven't done it over a period of time, they have shown flashes, but we can't count on consistency yet.  Mailata, Herbig , Peters .. just hope for solid without many mistakes.   The resting that past week should be good for the run game, but will Doug run it enough?   I expect us to move the ball if they go soft zone in the pass game, but we shall see.  I think the level of success will come down to the red zone.  How often do we get 7 ... or in our case 6 or 8 depending if we get the 2 points...lol.   We get 23-27 points, should be enough.   Later in the season I do expect us to crack 30 points a time or two.

I just don't think things will come easy yet until the backfield is a full go with both Sanders and Scott healthy and Lane an co on the OL playing healthy and together for a little bit.  I think we need to run the ball to slow down the pass rush... which will then get the passing game going.  A healthy Sanders in the committee should let Doug call more runs, otherwise we know his tendency not to do so ... Lane is key to the run blocking... so still a ways to go. Once we get Lane through a whole game and he can practice on Wednesdays, and Sanders isn't limited, then I think the rest can follow.  All this " questionable"  " limited"  " game time decision"  status isn't creating the chemistry needed. It needs to stabilize first.

IDK,I am interested in a Chargers RB they keep moving back to the PS Kevin Ballage. 6'2" 215. Dude can bang. He's not real fast but tough to bring down.I would give up one of our many 6 picks for him NOW.They call him up some,so he has a little NFL experience.I think he would be a nice complimentary piece for us

I guess because they keep putting him back on the PS he could be brought in? We wouldn't have to give up a pick though bud.

On paper we don't "dominate" anyone. We have some "adequate" offensive weapons, but we are FAR from dominating any of of them

Depends, you can protect up to 3 PS players I believe.Since they have called him up I am ASSUMING he would be one of those. If not,all the better

Well we can't trade for him anyway.

IDK how that works, if practice squad players are still tied to the trade deadline???

PS players can be protected the week before a game, and ones who are called up for a game can be returned to the PS without clearing waivers up to twice a season. But there is a window where any PS player can be claimed by any team. So if the Eagles wanted him, they could poach him and wouldn't need to trade for him.

This is good news.

Also, Craig James is out, so I imagine Jacquet gets called up again. I would not be surprised to see him play if the Eagles get a big early lead.

I go to Topsail NC almost every year. Didn't go this year for obvious reasons, but already have a house booked First week in May. I love it there! No one on the beaches. Water is like 75-80 and prices are half of what NJ charges!

Talking North Carolina beaches....it’s the Outer Banks. Some of the best beaches in the world as far as I’m concerned.

Ham,  Topsail is just south of OBX. Beaches are the same except way less people! You can still walk out for awhile on low tide....
I have been to the Outer Banks many times and love it. But Topsail is nicer as far as privacy and relaxation. IF you want the party life then OBX is what you want. I am renting a house(Ocean Front) that sleeps 28 for $5.000 for the week. Has a hot tub and elevator. smart home lol..... There is a pool also, but not open in May...

That includes the taxes and linens.... another $700 for Securities and such. You get some of that back though
