Agreed,Sanders wasn't a  guy teams had to key in on. he was  good RB,but there are lots of good RB's. Pollard waited patiently in Dullaz. I actually think he is a better back than Zeke,a better back that Sanders. But for us having 1 RB in our divisional rivals works well because can can stop that 1 guy. Stop Pollard, you stop their running game, stop bark, you stop the gnats running game. It will be the same with the Wuss and their "star" RB. With us w can throw multiple looks at you, they can't key in on one guy because if they do we can beat you with another as your example points out

You stop their OL and you stop the running game.  Forget the RB.  It's why it's 2 decades now and you can count on one hand the playoff wins from your elite RBs

Read Ham's post and you see the flag.

He called the QB ..." the final piece"

That's the most important position...you can argue in all of sports.  To spin it in a way to make it insignificant...  yet the way he harps on RB, LB and S.

" I prefer a committee ith multiple elite RBs...I just want that standard for this team"

"  I prefer having 4 S because of the new style of defenses today with the bog nickel"

Yet... QB is just that small final piece???

I'm guessing he is a DJ...he knows how to spin.

Out on a limb,I believe the 9ers started to build a team for Kaep. he could have been a good QB,of course we'll never know now,but that was time and position lost,so they continued to build the team around the QB position, they had to go pry Jimmy loose,he was the best option for them at the time. They were very lucky to have had Montana and Young BTB.

Why Howie loves his D linemen. most stud RB's are guys that can blast through the line to the 2nd level,so we agree there,a stud back will break it from there. With our RB's c'mon through and we will screen you all day LOL. So other teams are 1 dimensional and we will never be at RB.We can tell our O line "let them through" and our RB's will kill you on a an out pattern LOL,then when your D line has had enough of that abuse and backs off we can run the gaps LOL. I'm going to enjoy watching this years RB's pick apart defenses

Nah... Kaep was too long ago. Ham and I are talking the recent years. Remember the kneeling was the year before our SB.  He was already a backup then.

I know, but it was lost time on a rebuild, similar to what we had to do after the decision was made to trash Wentz. That was lost time. Jimmy was a stop gap for them, and picking a top QB doesn't always pan out,yet Ham knows exactly what they should have done. I love the comedy. IDK how they function without him

I think we see more passing this year. Not a shot at the RBs...just that the schedule means better opposition.  Less running out the clock. Less being able to just physically dominate.

I think Hurts should break every franchise passing record this year.  Everything is set up for him to do so.  On him now.

Too long ago.  8 years later you can't say team is built around him.  The " clearing out the cap space " that Ham refers too happened afterwards.  Nothing to do with it.

To put the timelines in perspective...

Kaep was beat out for the starting job by Blaine Gabbert...before Wentz started his first game.

So nothing now with SF has to do with Kaep... or left over with any ideas of building anything around him.

Ham is making his point, which he has done for years...of SF starting over...one easy thing they did was take a piece of crap joke of a team...let contracts expire and get rid of some players.   The obvious move with a pathetic team...that Ham calls " clear the cap"   it's basically an obvious start from the bottom...when a team is already there

Ham is using that to say he would have cleared the cap and starred over in 2018.   Basically sticking the middle finger to Kelce, Lane, Graham and Cox.. etc.

It's the easy way to make yourself try to sound smart ... instead of just pointing out a couple of bad moves...it's the whole philosophy that he has to attack.

Here we are 2024... SF hasn't had that success the Eagles have had.

But the spin..." just thst little nagging small piece of a QB"    ...not like the major flaw of the Eagles.

How does the depth look behind them this year compared to last year?

Pretty much the same guys possibly…don’t know. They went for Greedy….but he hasn’t done much.

But they were replaced

So you think Edmunds is equal to CGJ? Sidney equal to Epps?

Now here we are.... let's see what happens the next few years with the Eagles and SF.

SF apparently found a QB. They unleashed a 32 year old safety.  Their RT apparently didn't matter.

And they " stole " Hargrave at 4 years $ 84 mil.

And Howie will have to suffer his poor cap management and neglecting RB, LB and S.

Let's see what happens.

Outside of your lust for Sanders...  these were positions you didn't like going into last season.  " Howie neglected these"   as you let us know all season long.... now you are trying to spin these guys as big losses?

Been a big fan of Edwards all along. Epps been solid….but he was the sole S up until the start of the season practically. Sanders just has that burst and can make plays. Just such a difference dropping down to Gainwell. Did you watch the SB? Gainwell stunk. Not good enough. Even when the hole is wide open…probably just means a decent gain…instead of gone to the house. Swift is shifty. He brings some playmaking and dynamic abilities. Sanders is just good. But good to the other guys….was a huge drop.

I think Brown plays the CGJ position...and Blankenship plays for Epps.

Again... are you saying that Howie put a roster in 2022 that had good safety play?   Because you keep saying he neglected it last year?

Which is it?

Again...why does it matter when guys are acquired?

You keep harping on this fact.   But then SF getting CMC is a plus?

Be consistent... you spin things too obvious .

Very simple concept... " Howie did a good job, not perfect.  I would have done this or that differently but I can't argue with the results"

Is that a tough thing to say?

You’re a bit late on the "now.”

Here is one for you.

" Hurts played a great game in the Superbowl,  but his one mistake was very crucial in losing "

Not hard.

But Hurts surely will pass much more this season. Lost part of the engine that chugged is down the field in Sanders.

I'll ask the same of your 49ers?

Niners clearly improved.

Not really...I've been saying all offseason how I think we pass a lot more this year due to circumstances.

If you pay attention instead of dreaming of Gannon coming back, drafting Dax...and trying to start dumb arguments...you would have known I've been saying this all along.

He will pass due to need. Sanders sucks and the RBs will improve the team.

Ok.. you called it.

And I will remind you.

I call that they don't win their division.

The Eagles have built a better one.  Over a long period.

Rosie built a great one…then it steadily declined year by year. Then got back there last year…predictable decline this year.

Again... you couldn't pick a team in the NFL who managed the cap worse than Dallas.

They drafted well... managed the cap brutally awful.   Their contracts have been awful for the team.

They haven't been able to make moves in free agency for a while...heading into 2022 They had to unload quality guts.

The Eagles for one season in 2021 didn't go ape $h@t in free agency.  They absolutely chose not to pay guys this offseason... any one of the guys they lost could have easily been resigned.

The Eagles mess up personnel moves constantly... they have had the opportunity to miss that much because they manage the cap well.

Cowboys have been fine personnel wise. Not lacking anything there. Dak I think is overrated. But just comes down to HC not good enough to win big Postseason games. These two guys they’ve had running things just aren’t good enough. Flat out. Pack with ARod over and him ….that one time. But he blew other chances that probably should have been won.
