The Eagles had one year...2021 where we couldn't add.  Dallas has been there for years.  You whined so much in 2021... imagine that every year.

Between 2014-2019.... the Eagles had only 2 comp picks... both in 2019

Dallas had 12

Because they lose players and can't afford free agents.

They handled the QB position in the worse way...both with Romo and then Dak.  That has set the tone and left them behind for years.  But they were bad prior to that.

Well you gotta realize there are two sides to negotiations. Frankly I don’t think Dak is all that either. The dumb move Jerruh made actually was getting Cooper. That drove Dak’s price tag north.

The 49ers were similar to the Bears. They sucked for a while....so it's easy to not pay and start over.  They managed the cap so well they had to lose guys and overpay Hargrave.

$84 mil to a guy in his 30s who doesn't stop the run?    You see that as a good investment?

They haven't had to pay a QB yet ... that's part of why they were able to go spend.

We see how that works.  I'm looking forward to revisiting this in a few years.   Dallas and SF...compared to the Eagles.

But I'm sure it will be Hurts making up for a poor roster and bad coaching...lol

Niners we’re paying Jimmy G like 27 mil.

Rosie potentially just nailed a good draft…to trade places with cowboys on that part.

Hurts absolutely brings so much to the table.

I still give the nod to the Niners coaches.(was bone headed way they got Purdy injured by us though).

Jimmy G deal with the Niners was largest per year money given out at that time.

  • Author

Think they gave up like a second round pick for Jimmy G. Then gave him the megacontract. Then dished out ridiculous picks for Trey Lance.

  • Author

All that completely wasted on just terrible choices. Then find Brock Purdy as Mr Irrelevant!

  • Author

Funny part is: Purdy is completely the relevant guy. It’s the third overall pick looking like Mr Irrelevant.

Mariota's not looking too good. Sailing his passes high.

It's on NFLN. First play I watched Morrow missed a tackle badly, I guess we threw a pick right before that

Like that never happened in the history of football LOL

Rosie did great to give Pedey a shot. Paid off big time. But then Rosie micromanaged….not so micro. Screwed my everything up with these Senior Asst coaches…and dictating the other assistants under Pedey. Rosie had to feed his ego. Had to make sure he got the credit for the teams first SB. Forcing out an obviously quality HC. Looking like a decent call he made though on replacing the coaches. Think he was more focused on the coaches Siri was surrounding himself with…than Siri by himself. Siri is a bit hard to fairly judge. He does well being consistent with his players. Pretty straight up shooter it would seem. But really can’t be ignored how bad his start was. With him playcalling….wasn’t working well at all. I had a conspiracy theory that it was possible Rosie was running Siri and making him call things that way to get the quickest assessment on Hurts. He was poking around QB trade targets at the deadline if you recall. Actually seems fairly believable….knowing all that we know about the situation here….and Rosie. So my theory was that Siri worked around Rosie by giving up the playcalling to Steichen. If that conspiracy theory is true? It would lift massive doubt and negative over Siri’s head. Arguably the biggest knock against Siri so far(his bad playcalling to start here). Then you have the look of Gannon running the D completely. Not sure what clout or say Siri even had on the D side. My belief he had no real say on D. His big picture philosophy of…D can’t give up big plays style of D he preferred. Think that was his contribution on D. Kind of comes off like a mandate for any DC to not be on the aggressive side. Basically just setting overall limitations on what the DC is able to do. This season will be much more telling about Siri. He’s only really on the O side….like a just was saying. How the O performs after losing such a huge contribution from Steichen. Also he’s stuck with his choice of RB in Gainwell. Gainwell isn’t a bad player. He looks decent across the whole board of different job duties. Hopefully improves his pass blocking. No area I see Gainwell bringing above average at really. Just doesn’t have much burst. Did see Gainwell was very good at not losing yardage on rushes. Anyway….think as much as we rag Jerruh for his need to feed ego and only hire coaches he can dictate to and run. Seeing that exactly how Rosie has been working things. He’s in charge. Even after wins…coach gets grinded on by Rosie and analytics dept. Believe Pedey going for more independence and power ….main reason Rosie snipped him. Even winning it all….doesn’t earn the next levels of power and control. Believe Siri had a fairly strong understanding of the situation and power dynamics under Rosie. Top vet proven coaches less accepting of these conditions, for the most part.

Tackling-really bad LOL

I don’t remember any Mr Irrelevant pick accomplishing anything before. To have one steal the job from a freshly third overall pick….plus beating out the franchise vet QB is really something noteworthy and I believed unique.

Almost a given result of so low contact practicing. These PS games are the main tackling practice any of these guys get.

  • Author

Not watching the game. But usually LBs clean up with doing much of the tackling. That room has been my knock the most this season. Adding two vets was needed for depth. But still gotta be obvious Rosie has to make some move for a LB. Which to me I almost see as a good thing. Gotta be real glaring….then he has no choice.

You know like at S last year

  • Author

It was killing me the S situation starting TC last season. Couldn’t believe they brought back the over the hill player they already saw the whole previous season. Not sure how anybody could have graded Harris as…an option? Only starting option at that. It’s one thing to take a shot on a Vet FA guy making pot or assumptions on him working out better in his got with your team. But after suffering a whole season seeing it….who checked off on….bring him back to start again. Next to Epps. Epps is a quality S….probably underrated by most. But he isn’t some superstar to carry an old man back there along for the ride.

The LB room plan baffled me. Almost solely was turning to Dean. But surprisingly didn’t even get him much work last season. So very little to grade and judge him on to feel but so confident. Wouldn’t be so big a deal if he there were other options to turn to as a fallback. But only had Bradley and Ellis the ST studs. So the answer was forced to be Murrow? Exactly where Rosie gets caught in his stubborn philosophy of his prioritizing by position. Murrow wasn’t some good value signing. So now he had to get Jack and Cunningham too. They are better plans than the original guy….at least. But it’s a stubborn neglect of the position. Realize Edwards couldn’t be kept. Believe he went back to his home town. Plus we couldn’t compete financially with the Bears.

  • Author

I mean really? Can you guys really be slurping up every ounce of Rosie’s I still use the EMB's #1 Cliche so much that you believed in how he handled the LB situation? Completely turned the whole room over to second year player…..that hasn’t played. Not too mention his durability concerns.

  • Author

Can’t get me to believe a contending team can just so blatantly neglect a whole position grouping.

  • Author

I like Dean plenty. Him previously running the D for much of these guys at Georgia already…gives him even more credibility.

  • Author

But can’t possibly turn to a guy that didn’t get on the field his rookie year. Not as the only real option. Agree to expect him to start. Call the D. All good there. But taking it to the level of him carrying his sidekick out there is just? Extremely optimistic..at best. Perfect situation to pair a vet stud with him. Let Dean run things. But focus otherwise on learning his own job. Should have a player that carries his own weight next to Dean. That’s just bare minimum. Really should be a very quality vet paired with him. How can they go from Dean can’t get on the field all rookie season to….he’ll run the whole D and carry his LB teammate? Can the guy get out there and maybe learn his job somewhere in this thinking and plan? Flagrantly weak plan.

RB I’m not thrilled with that room. But at least they attacked it with numbers. Had Gainwell who actually had experience and proven himself. Penny seemed to chose to come here. He loved the situation here enough to come on his prove it contract. So why not let him try and prove something? For the peanuts he accepted. He is banking on getting his payday off this season. Not even sure if Penny will be of much use or not for us. I’m skeptical. But he jumped to come here and accepted  the no pay situation. Was basically his situation regardless where he went. The trade for Swift was the legit move. Seemed likely an understood pre planned decision. Rosie I believe knew Lions were moving Swift and drafting somebody.

I’m a fan of the doubted Scott. Actually think he is the best option of the bunch behind Swift. Even with Swift he has some durability  concerns to lesson his quality/value. Scott’s weakness is pass blocking however. Just not big enough to do the job any better.

My 2 cents-Eliss and Steen look ok to keep around and keep working with. Mariota is effectively playing his way to QB3. I understand it's the 2's and 3's but the Browns looked alot more polished and disciplined, Sermon had some nice runs only to cough up the ball. He will be in roster trouble if he does that again. I know he is trying hard to make an impression, but I'm sure he knows fumbling is the fastest way out of town. Ringo should be a keeper. He needs alot of work yet but he has the skills/very rough, but we know it takes college kids time to get used to NFL speed. No need to panic on him. Hard to judge the WR's because Mariota is so awful. So on that score we're getting "plenty of nothing" as far as knowing who we'll cut. I'm hoping to see then in the 2nd 1/2 with McKee at the helm because right now there is no way to make decisions based on what the WR's do
