In college...took a summer course for 6 weeks.   International Finance that i needed for the major.    Those little blue test booklets... there was a problem that took about 6 pages to complete.

I missed a minus sign towards the beginning of the question ... did the whole thing correctly...but that one missed sign ( it was a -1 instead of a 1... or visa versa)

That changed the answer and I got a zero credit for that question.

Life lesson... might miss only one detail....but that's enough change everything.

Why I was questioning it

The injury lie

So here are 3 trade proposals I saw with the Eagles for Taylor...

1.  Gainwell... 2024... 2nd & 5th

2. 2024 ..2nd & 5th... plus 2025 .. 3rd and 7th

3.   Swift... 2024 2nd... and 2025 2nd

One common asset... the 2024 2nd plus.

On this Eagles site, they are valuing Gainwell more than Swift

Yeah I think that’s fair… Swift was just traded for a fourth and has one year left? Gainwell was drafted in the fifth 2 years ago and has 2 years left?

They are saying Gainwell has looked the best and will be the lead RB.

I think it’ll be a real mixed bag and it’ll be different RBs for different teams, game plans and situations.

Yeah... but it's the insiders who are saying Gainwell is the lead.  I think mostly due to that he plays all the situations.

The trade value for sure increases with that 2nd year of control.... but that's a pretty significant difference..

A 2024 5th and a 2025 2nd.

I think he might be on the basis that he’s here beyond this year. But on the other hand they may chose to limit his carries a little more to keep the wear off of him?

I don't think anyone gets limited.. I think they all just play due to the strategy of rotating a fresh RB.  And like you said, different situations. Just a natural rotation not really looking into limiting anyone.

But I think Gainwell probably is considered the lead while watching practice, because he does it all.

We saw the Eagles "first depth chart" Gains was #1. I'm not buying that. Could be smoke and mirrors so we trade him and keep a better RB just like the injury "lie". More Kabuki theater

Why is Taylor "injured"? And you and Ham said it was a ruse

Obvious because he’s jaded and is holding out. Easier to explain away he’s not suiting up for practice if you blame it on being injury related. Irsay hard ball threatened to put him on NFI list for his back first. That would change things as we know them. But then he isn’t expected to show up at practice because his ankle or knee is sore and rehabbing. Think all three injuries have been mentioned. The threat by Irsay when he was so upset should tell you plenty enough. But then it being referred to as three different injuries causing him not to be expected to show up at practice is just so obviously suspect. I read between the lines plenty that you question about many things that have occurred. This situation you’d just have to be completely gullible to believe. Huge blowup between owner and star RB. Just blatant their coverup story of how they’re handling it by blaming injury. Now usually it’s not wise to coverup a disgruntled employee with blaming it on physical readiness and injury shortcoming. Because it obviously hurts trade value to try and trade any player that’s not healthy. Think the whole league understands the BS going on in this situation however. But even as stupid and obvious as this whole circus Irsay created is…any team trading for Taylor will be conditional on a physical. Exactly why you don’t fake injury reasons to coverup a holdout on a player that might need to be traded.

It's been him since the start of the offseason.

I'm pretty sure every trade in sports involves a physical... I can't recall any that don't.   Usually those ones where you try to  hurry the player into playing for the new team gets delayed by a physical.

But to sum up the novel... Irsay was an -#$hole with everything involving Taylor.    That's why Taylor wants out.  Irsay trying to downplay his  absence using injury.

As Ham says... the whole world could smell that BS a mile away.

Now Irsay trying to look nice by " giving permission " ... but it's obvious he either wants Taylor to come crawling back..or get blown away by an offer.

Why would you lie about injury, wouldn't you get more if he was healthy????

Exactly why it’s not the proper way to handle that situation. But Irsay went extreme and even threatened NFI posting Taylor. That’s non football injury list. Meaning you don’t get paid. Imagine how much that would screw everything up in this league. If you NFI any player that injured himself working out in the offseason. NFI a guy that gets injured on a jet ski…or that stuff. But if players league wide face NFI designation, meaning they lose their paychecks over working out in the offseason to prepare? That’s a massive slippery slope. A guy lifting ways in the offseason can’t be deemed not football related. Can’t have players scared to prepare in the offseason for fear of losing their money. Bad idea. Irsay opened his mouth in such a way to screw up the game as we know it.

Irsay needs to stop the booze before speaking.

Right, but why fake an injury?A healthy player gets you more in trade. Isray should have said he's 100% ready to go,he'd get more

I was telling my daughter about this earlier... lol.  She is obsessed with her, and is hoping for the trade.

Defended his guy Gainwell.   A very popular player on the team.   Good thing with Kelce is he is honest about it, right away he said he regretted letting it get out of hand.
