But the websites reporting about Swift…been reading all TC. So I’m not going all back through every practice notes. Read more about Swift than any RB.

Oh yes, the August MVP's

That’s where it begins. Depth chart being written. But I’d assume he goes with the hot hand.

Gainwell is decent at all phases. So just him being trusted should have him out there a fair amount.

Is it these websites that are creating this idea that Taylor is coming to Philly to take his physical and where the Eagles are the team the Colts are going to trade him to this week for a 3rd rounder?

All this " coincidence and reading between the lines"  etc.

Like the click bait stuff???   This is where these left field ideas come from?

Click bait is the fools reading about Power Rankings. Could there be a more worthless article always popping up?

No matter, same defensive game plan vs us,since they are all the same LOL

Swift you need to be ready to defend. He’s shifty. Gotta prepare for those cutbacks and assortment of moves.

Penny can power and speed….but not likely receiving. But that’s just straight forward. Normal D. Gainwell be ready for all plays. But he won’t outrun anybody. Scott….I doubt any DC watched anything on him. Sermon….just don’t know what to even say?

It’s getting close to start the season now. So the offseason talk gets left behind.

I’m rooting for all these guys to have career seasons.

I through out all my two cents about what transpired this offseason. Hope I’m correct on what I agreed with. Hope I’m completely wrong about any doubts.

Just like I do draft picks. I favored certain players. But those that went elsewhere aren’t Eagles. Some went to the enemy. Screw those guys. Just need Eagles to kick butt!

No team has it all,but we have alot of positives

Really have a good mix of youth and mentors. Old heads are perfect examples to rub off on the new batch. Very important part of the franchise. All these kids will be much better served having Kelce, Lane, BG and Fletch to guide them.

We sure do! Have a good team. One that should be tough to beat week one. But has plenty of in season growth potential.

Think it’s been very well documented that Siri is cycling the RBs through. All observations I’ve read about note this. Just can’t tell by reps who is first man up. But the splash…and dynamic plays by Swift stand out. You don’t think it’s about standing out showcasing skills? By flash…when it’s Swift juking two guys to cut back for a huge untouched pickup. That matters.

I think the thing that will stand out and get everyone excited....what is different...what is " flashing"     is the element Swift brings in the passing game.   I think when looking at the team perspective....which is what these guys who have been covering the team for years are doing...this is what is standing out to them.

" what it's about,"  wasn't the conversation.    I'm not " calling it"  " going on any imaginary record "  etc.

I'm simply stating that the every day guys who cover the team are saying Gainwell is getting either more snaps or the first snaps.    You can spin the conversation and take it any direction you want.  I'm not doing that.. I'm just saying what they are saying about the snaps during camp and what it seems the pecking order is.

Doesn't mean who is best, flashes more or anything else other than the reps up until now.

It's just a discussion about the team...not everything has to be a prediction..." I called it"  or " on the imaginary record"  not an imaginary contest.   Just enjoying discussing the team.

What are " power rankings "  lol.  Who lifts more weight?    Lol.

Gotta prepare for his route running.   Element that has been missing and stands out.  Adds extra element to the offense.

I imagine that when they were reporting the usage of 2 RBs on the field at the same time... it was with Swift being lined up elsewhere.

Swift brings all that...the new stuff.   It was the offseason acquisition.    Gainwell is already here.   He doesn't make for good " story"   ... he's just a solid guy in a committee.   The system of RB that’s been winning Superbowls for the past 2 decades.

Putting the unit all together... these guys really seem to like what they see.   The results and production of the unit as a whole is all that matters.

Now what I think we see differently this year.   Without the emotional bias toward Gainwell because or refusal to " call it wrong" about Sanders.

I think we want Swift as more of the key play guy...3rd down etc....what Gainwell was doing with Sanders.  So now Gainwell will change roles.. probably more 1st down snaps which makes it seem like first string or starter type of thing.

What matters is maximizing who plays when and where.. I don't care as much about the fluff snaps....which was Sanders . Gainwell may get the same or more snaps this year...but at the same time less of the key snaps.   Essentially more work, but less significant.

AJ Brown vs single coverage last season: 850 yards (1st), 8 Touchdowns (1st

If Swift flashes on 2 plays per game.  Like really flashes... 6 carries and 6 catches type of numbers....I don't need him on the field 70% of the snaps.   Get the other guys in there to take 1st down carries or pass blocks..etc.  Keep him fresh.

Similar role as Sproles.  I think that's the best way to maximize the unit.  Sacrifice some of his numbers for better team numbers.   2021 style vs last year when we forced Carolina crybaby the ball.

Not what I’ve heard at all. I’ve been hearing a massive rotation at RB. Almost every word I’ve heard about it is…no way to tell by reps in practice.

You know the dumbest take by each reporter stating the ranking of the whole league each week. Total BS fluff. But obviously people click…or everybody wouldn’t constantly do these rankings.

What we get out of the RB as a whole dies matter. But big picture stats….just doesn’t tell much of any real important story.

How much does rushing for 100 yards in the fourth quarter of a blowout matter? Very little. Key plays is what’s really important. Can the RB convert third down? Can he score the TD? These are what’s main priority. Start with just first down having us in good position for second down. Three minutes left….can we kill the clock when they know it’s going to be a run?

  • Author

It’s these crucial situations I question the committee. Rushing for so many yards this season means little.

  • Author

Up two….can we run out the clock and win? Do we have that RB option?
