Not what I’ve heard at all. I’ve been hearing a massive rotation at RB. Almost every word I’ve heard about it is…no way to tell by reps in practice.

I never said there wasn't a rotation.   I simply said they were saying Gainwell was taking the first rep(s) ...chronological order...you follow.  And a lot said if they had to guess the split...while even...might be Gainwell getting one or two extra snaps.

Nothing making Gainwell the far and away starter... why does everything have to be extreme?

They had 103 snaps...you don't think it's possible Gainwell had led with 22 and got in the first rep?   This is the type thing they were saying...ie your massive rotation.

Or trying to salt the game away for victory….do we three and out with the opponent playing against the run?

You know the dumbest take by each reporter stating the ranking of the whole league each week. Total BS fluff. But obviously people click…or everybody wouldn’t constantly do these rankings.

Why not just look at standings?

Now what I think we see differently this year.   Without the emotional bias toward Gainwell because or refusal to " call it wrong" about Sanders.

I think we want Swift as more of the key play guy...3rd down etc....what Gainwell was doing with Sanders.  So now Gainwell will change roles.. probably more 1st down snaps which makes it seem like first string or starter type of thing.

What matters is maximizing who plays when and where.. I don't care as much about the fluff snaps....which was Sanders . Gainwell may get the same or more snaps this year...but at the same time less of the key snaps.   Essentially more work, but less significant.

I was thinking Gainwell maintains the same role basically. That Swift is the between the twenties weapon.

What we get out of the RB as a whole dies matter. But big picture stats….just doesn’t tell much of any real important story.

No argument here....not always about the stats....situation football and context matters.

If Swift flashes on 2 plays per game.  Like really flashes... 6 carries and 6 catches type of numbers....I don't need him on the field 70% of the snaps.   Get the other guys in there to take 1st down carries or pass blocks..etc.  Keep him fresh.

Similar role as Sproles.  I think that's the best way to maximize the unit.  Sacrifice some of his numbers for better team numbers.   2021 style vs last year when we forced Carolina crybaby the ball.

Clearly the plan can’t be just go with Swift for massive carries.

How much does rushing for 100 yards in the fourth quarter of a blowout matter? Very little. Key plays is what’s really important. Can the RB convert third down? Can he score the TD? These are what’s main priority. Start with just first down having us in good position for second down. Three minutes left….can we kill the clock when they know it’s going to be a run?

Agree...it's why they took Sanders off the field on key plays.  Be curious to see how many guys with his " stats" or got paid $6 mil...got taken off the field for the amount of key plays that Sanders got the boot.

I didn’t go extreme. Just differed on what I’ve heard. Been hearing it’s really been all of them at first team. Even Sermon.

That’s where we need to still be capable. Sort of feels like a pick the right guy for the mission type thing.

Feel much better about this group.  Probably my second favorite RB group other than 2017...    for me any group with a Blount and a Sproles type is ideal.

Siri just really wasn’t a fan. Clear from day one.

Yes... again...I didn't say any different.

But Sanders showed he could catch rookie year.

Me neither...glad not to have to worry about him anymore.

I think the rotation not only helps decide pecking order to start…but decide who to cut as well. See them for real vs first string.

Really have a good mix of youth and mentors. Old heads are perfect examples to rub off on the new batch. Very important part of the franchise. All these kids will be much better served having Kelce, Lane, BG and Fletch to guide them.

I have been bashing the WR room as of late. So I took some time and watched vids(tape if you will) on them. They aren't nearly as bad as I thought. Although no stars most can play if given the chance,so I feel much better. not because they will play, but because they have the potential to grow into adequate BU's .AJ is AJ and Smith will have grown a bit,so our tandem may be the best in the league. I'm seriously excited to watch this offense because we can carve you up in SO many ways

I thought Sanders did an excellent job bulking up. He changed his running style and adapted. Less dancing around in the backfield. More one cut running. To keep team on schedule.

Nah.... be dumb not to use Swift on as many key plays ( other than short yardage) as possible.    Gainwell should see less 3rd and 6 and more 1st and 10.

Really hard to argue Swift being on the field for as many 3rd downs as he can.

Sanders maybe bounced things outside a bit much early in his career as well

I think Sermon is the bottom here...it's obvious by the amount he is playing in preseason games vs the other guys.

Fumbles too... let's be honest...dude is soft...probably more mentally than physically.   Just not an attention to detail guy...that's why you couldn't trust him in a key situation.

DeVonta just seems to keep getting better. He’s really looking to be studly this season. Got the new guy Olimide…not some blockbuster player. But Watkins wasn’t great in the slot last season. So that consistent option should be a boost. Plus seeing us move Swift out if the backfield to mess with Ds. Should be a great tell for Hurts on D playcall.

Up two….can we run out the clock and win? Do we have that RB option?

Better this year than last year for sure.
