The Eagles flipped Wentz .. for essentially.... Milton Williams,  Nakobe Dean, Jalen Carter and the Saints 2024 second round pick.

I look at it this way...because I believe they still make trades for Smith and AJ... but instead of the 3rd rounders we received in the trades, we would have to use our own picks which we drafted Williams and Dean.

I can't put AJ and Smith in just to make Howie look good.    Still great trade.

My point is, this is why I don't want to give up much for a RB.  I don't care if it's Walter Payton reincarnated.

So all players could force a trade now?   What have you heard about his situation?   Is he disgruntled?

Or is this all wishful thinking and hope on your part without anything substantial?

It's common how teams let some players finish their contracts.  Not every player requests the trade like Taylor..  because not every owner is Irsay.

Baltimore is considered a contender... they have received a bunch of comp picks over the years.    Unless you heard he is available... not one of these click bait sites... I doubt he is available unless Baltimore either struggles or need to trade for another position.

So you endlessly preach how much wiser it is to extend as soon as possible ….but now it makes no sense…just because it’s a trade idea others have proposed that I like. Many times players may believe there is a chance they get extended during the season. With the Ravens trading and paying a LB it shows they won’t be paying Queen.

I’m sure Queen doesn’t desire money right now though.

definitely a force at FL. He was fun to watch. Nice WR if we want smith or AJ to rest a series or 2 throughout the games

He’s just here to play the last PS game. Maybe shines and we keep on the practice squad.

I can't follow this...  so what are you saying you would trade for Taylor?

A 2nd,a RB and 1-2 4ths

Hard to know yet. I can't make that call on a guy who is just arriving.. Sure he will play the last PS game, but he's a good WR nonetheless. Be a fine slot guy or he can play outside. So an experienced WR that can sub/relieve in all 3 spots should be a nice commodity down the line. I think he sticks

Yes....if you want to keep the player.. you negotiate to sign him early.   Unfortunately for some players, reams aren't going to do that.

Still... for those players on the last year... if they are in a good situation, they don't leave.  They play it out and get their deal elsewhere.

Why would Queen want to leave Baltimore.... unless he signs the big contract?   Why not play it out there, where he had his success....especially if the team is considered a contender?

IDK you need to define what is too much. How much is too much? How little is not enough. This is not sanders here, this is a stud RB and although you say you don't like studs and would rather have the RBBC(which I do also) he is a force to reckon with. so IDK what the value Howie will place on him. perhaps they want too much. Howie has a set offer and he will stick to it. he won't overpay,we know that, but there are no real draftees next year,so it would be Taylor who we could have for a long time. I'm not against the RB's we have, but if Taylor goes elsewhere we are back to re-signing who we have or dipping into the FA market again.

I don't care if you like the trade...not everything revolves around you.

I'm talking reality.   I asked why would Queen want out of Baltimore.... unless he gets the big deal elsewhere?

If you have an answer for that, which makes sense.... I'm all for it.    I don't see one that makes sense to me.

Not every organization treats the player poorly simply by not offering them an extension.

Some players are ok, balling out the last year for that team and using that to get the best deal possible.   Some players prefer to be on the open market rather than take a deal that isn't to their liking.

Queen coming here fits for the 7 year old Eagles fan who wants everyone to play for the Eagles.    I'm pointing out, it takes another side to make it happen.

Which site reported anything from Queen..   not the " this trade would be good for the Eagles "

You follow yet...  I'm not arguing the trade from Eagles side.

Getting in on the Queen debate,I think he stays, plays well in his contract year, then he can go for bigger money either there or elsewhere and Howie would not spend that kind of money on a LB anyhow,so for me it's a "forget about it"

Yeah....this happens a lot with Baltimore.   Happens a lot at the LB position.   Without anything from the other side...I wouldn't get my hopes up.

https://www.nj.com/eagles/2023/08/eagles-new-wr-freddie-swain-could-impact-this-area-because-of-injuries.html   IDK but he made some really nice plays in Seattle. with Locket and others he didn't get alot of looks. Won't here either but he is a decent WR(not spectacular but he can play)

I think they were seriously expecting big things out of Cleveland before he got hurt. I thought he looked great even vs the 2's and 3's. I believe he made the room better and that's all I can ask. nice pick up by Howie and company. ham think he will be cut immediately. Which raises the question, why get him now then?

I think he was an injury cut,he's not 100%. Maybe he plays tonight, maybe not. IDK the extent of his injury. He needs to learn our playbook so if he plays I doubt it will be much,if at all. Seems to me it would be hard to get off a plane and suit up LOL

So in contrary to this article... A lot of local guts think Ngata has had a great camp and will make the team.  Maybe they don't want to play guys they know will make the team?

Idk... I'm not too focused on it right now.  But I thought he signed Tuesday night?  So I assume he plays.

So ... 2nd, two 4ths... and Gainwell,Penny or Swift.    It's not Sermon who they know you will cut.

Then move on to contract...what are you going to sign him for.   Apparently he originally wanted $16 mil per year.

I don't want Taylor on a 1 year rental especially if you have to pay him big time and give up a promising RB still on his rookie contract to get him

If you pay him...then it won't be a one year rental.

True but if he wants 16 million as you said is it worth it?

Well they all look good vs the 2'3 and 3;s,I think they wanted a guy who could play with the 1's if called upon

I already said no... just pointing out, if you pay him, that means long term.

I wouldn't give up a lot just to rent him either.
