So ... 2nd, two 4ths... and Gainwell,Penny or Swift.    It's not Sermon who they know you will cut.

Then move on to contract...what are you going to sign him for.   Apparently he originally wanted $16 mil per year.

Nah I wouldn't pay that, neither will Howie, let someone else overpay. Howie is into "steals",so at that price it would be a no go for me personally

Well they all look good vs the 2'3 and 3;s,I think they wanted a guy who could play with the 1's if called upon

The camp is camp.... it's not necessarily 2s vs 3s...etc.    This is where some of these writers who focus only on the preseason games ...miss the big picture.

I don't want Taylor on a 1 year rental especially if you have to pay him big time and give up a promising RB still on his rookie contract to get him

I agree, needs to be a 4 year, but it seems he is unaffordable and I'm fine with who we have. We still have zero clue how penny and swift will play with THIS team. With our O line no "star" needed

Ngata is good,so was Cleveland. Like I said they are not ready to be dropped into a relief position with the 1's yet, thus this signing. He's a guy who understands the NFL speed and has played in it before,so the experience is what they wanted

Was Cleveland good in camp... didn't hear much from him...other than apparently he made a couple plays in pre season game.

If a major(Smith or AJ) goes down, this guy can play. he can play all 3 spots,he was just overshadowed everywhere he went. I think he is a fine BU to either of our 1's

True nothing in camp, but he did light up a few in pre,so he looked to be someone with potential, but q week out there is no time to bring that potential out,and he's hurt anyhow,so this ia a nice stop gap ins policy

https://www.nfl.com/prospects/freddie-swain/32005357-4108-6661-a1b9-6c0262d1d23d  At the combine he was rated 5.8 which is adequate BU or ST'er. I know we tried Sermon on a return and that didn;t end well,so possibly Swain can take that role right away while he learns our playbook. If he's good he can stay at ST if we have no inuries

You could be correct...  or if you read the article that said 3 of these WRs are injured and not going to play... probably don't want to play AJ or Brown.... so they may need bodies for tonight?

Or some combo of both...but I suppose we see this guy play tonight.

I would assume he gets a look on ST.  Then we have the practices before Tuesday's decisions.   He may make the roster..or not.  Really doesn't hurt to look.

I think we do.I'm sure he can get some simple plays ready to go in short time. Nothing special, but the basic patterns and he is on the roster now since he was a FA acquisition,so he will have some job on the 53

My thoughts exactly. He could run some elemetray routes just to get accumstomed to how we play

Yeah...everyone is on the roster now.. only matters who is on it come Tuesday.

Well we know our St grop is not exactly stellar,so give him a shot. he's a 4.45 WR,not terribly fast, but he's kind of elusive and he tries hard

As an FA aren't we required to put him on the 53? IDK if he was on waivers or just released

I think he runs all the routes..  it's not a 7 year old learning football.  Routes are routes... the learning is how everything fits etc.   Preseason is basic anyway.  I'm sure he will be fine.

There is no 53... until Tuesday

If he was on waivers don't we have to keep him on the 53 at least for some time period?
