What's the deal with Fred Johnson ?

He was released yesterday and resigned today to a 2 year deal.

Anyone know what the reasoning would be there???

Some kind of league rule or something that's advantage Eagles?

But Rosie clearly had to shuffle the roster a good amount.

Depends how desperate someone is

Anyone that desperate actually is in a great spot for the Caleb Williams sweepstakes at first pick next draft. Or…Mariota maybe locks in a teams chances to fail. But not so obvious that you look like you are trying. Sell him as a former high pick. He’ll do some things to keep you in sone games. But then tank so hard on the second half…like with ATL last season. He can run…so it’s a bit exciting. Not just a statue getting pummeled in the pocket.

Sure it does... the guys that aren't playing pretty much made the team.

Actually a good point.

Sermon getting in work... you can tell they are showcasing him for a trade.

They talked and showcased him so hard they haven’t been sneaking him toward the PS.

Pop the champagne..... I don't have to see, hear or read about an upcoming preseason game.  One of the best  nights of the year.

No more reading up on this obscure player...   no complaints about strategy or who got in the game.

It's real football time baby....prepare for the Pats.... let's go!

Only 7 fantasy drafts before it starts!!!!

You saw Gonzales for the Pats just got injured

I’m not watching tonight. But can’t judge McKee very much with these guys most likely. Can’t be much timing. Unlikely guys even running in the right places.

You pick your team on what the experience was here right?   Or why goes through camp?

To see if they can transition from the college ranks and how they respond to the players already on your team, right?? If watching a guy like Carter or JJ's tape didn't move the needle for you, nothing I can do about that

Fred Johnson started at T. That’s why

Van Sumerian showed up tackling everything it appears. 16 total

Ricks with some plays again. Roob said he’s been better in the games than at practice however.

Ngata sounds like he blew it tonight. Any outside shot he was working probably lost.

Devon Allen did it. Started the game with a return where he broke a tackle and took it over 70 yards. There you go.

GB... I'm not getting into this same stuff where you change the subject..

I'll make it simple for you...  THE DECISION ON WHO MAKES THE EAGLES IN 2023 ... NGATA OR CLEVELAND ...SHOULD BE MADE OVER THEIR PERFORMANCE IN EAGLES CAMP... not their college film .

You follow???   It's nor complicated...you don't have to go study film now.

It's not a subject change Joe, SO if a super star like JJ you drafted in round 1 has a slow learning camp you're going to cut him? If Carter is injured and you can't work him in camp you aren't drafting him? Why did we get Dean then? Why keep him based on what little you saw from him HERE? WHY would you keep someone like that? If Cleveland has a higher top end ceiling, you can bet I'm keep him over a player that may have PEAKED IN CAMP. I'm not going to see a players full potential in 6 weeks,so stop with the "you follow". You btch because I follow the scouting process, well hint they have guys that do that for a living 24/7/365 and they make suggestions, and you draft based on that. It begins there. The staff initially gets paid to transition those selections to the TEAM YOU HAVE NOW. Since neither Cleveland or Ngata would probably start day 1,you bet I take the kid with the higher ceiling, even if the lesser guy has a slightly better camp, because I know over time that player would not be as good as the one I kept, you follow?

Allen is 28 though. But he is a special guy. I’d go for it with him as returner. He made a strong gunner tackle in ST also.

Releasing a guy early makes it harder for clubs to add him. But also tests the league on his worth. Figure they just found out how likely he is to reach the PS.

The articles said it was some kind of procedural thing?

Is he allowed to go on the PS?    I thought there was a restriction for players that have been in the league a certain amount?   Or did they waive that with Covid?

Again you are talking about something else.   Completely missing the point.   I'm not talking about the draft with the stud players.  Yes the film gets them here.  I'm talking about deciding which fringe player makes the team.

Their starting QB Richardson went 6-17 for 78 yards. Pretty weak going against our mosh posh backups with no chemistry. S all did play for us..but Blankenship

  • Author

The stud Sermon had 16 carries for 30 yards. Could point towards the backup Oline. But guy hasn’t done squat. Probably find a RB cut that has more upside to be developed to put on the PS.

Josh Jobe was inactive. Probably going towards No Mas point of him being in.

Richardson flapped his wings after scoring. Bad look for that kid. Weak sauce. What a punk!
