From 2015 to 2023 the RB tag number actually decreased. Crazy!

10.95 in 2015 to 10.09 in 2023.

No way the players allow this to continue. NFLPA has to get involved. Can’t just use and abuse these RBs with no pay. If the math tells everybody RBs aren’t hardly cashing in on their second contracts ….it has to be addressed. Second contract is the big payday that guys that work out in the league make their money. It’s a physical tough game. Can’t have all GMs agree that this one position should be singled out as taking the most punishment. So it’s a bad investment for hardly any to get to earn that true NFL salary on second contracts. Just obviously messed up. RBs take too much punishment can’t be grounds for that position to not be profitable.

Huge shakeup coming about this. Clearly gotta exempt or drastically alter RB position under the rookie wage scale.

Just messed up they are being identified as taking so much punishment and abuse each year. Can’t have the guys that take such a higher degree and repetitive abuse …be the reason those guys make no money. Backwards thinking.

The data is in and clear on the position being more abusive and much shorter longevity careers. Has to be acknowledged. Tricky to fix though.

RBs drafted rookie scale has to be tripled. Balance out things at that job. Those guys get a much more fair earnings chance compared to other players. But then vets will be more coveted also. Change the dynamics of the situation. Actually incentivize paying RBs beyond four years.

The loophole in this adjustment to even things out would be: undrafted RBs. Would jump their value while drafting RBs would fall even further than their weak standing already.

League is more a passing league so RB pay will dive further unless you are a Caff

But it's a free market system.Teams will decide positional value. Basically all RB's would have to boycott, but then you are in breach of contract, and teams will only pay what they think you are worth to them. Howie is ahead of the curve(once again)

League is changing to where the highly paid QB's are also RB's(see Hurts,Jackson,Murray(when he plays) et al

That's why you split it up via committee  ...then they don't take the punishment.

It's not hard to believe these #s stayed flat.   Less bell cow / work horse RBs out there.

If you played fantasy.... you see the picks have gone away from RBs over to WRs.... because they get the stats now.

It's a passing league... still keeping that # over $10 mil, kinda impressive actually.

Gotta feel sorry for guys making $10 mil

So let me ask you... who takes the abuse...Kelce or any single one of our RBs?

Now you just gave incentive for teams to not draft RB...if you want to increase the scale.   Why pay triple for the RB than you would another spot?

Supply and demand,it takes alot more for a RB to stand out

I fell asleep and missed the game replay. Oh well,no matter, now it's time for the real thing. Kind of sucks we do a short week right off the bat(Pats then VIkes on Thursday)

Very simple dynamics...  the players that give your team the best chance to win....they get paid.

Do they have a shorter career because they take the abuse....or because with age they lose the ability to avoid being tackled?

You don't see too many older CF or SS either... that's sports.

Now you are starting to get it.   Almost getting there.

New England has been ahead of this way sooner.
