Wentz was a different QB after he got his head scrambled by Clowny in the playoffs.

I don't think Wentz failed... when you have the season he had to help the team win a SB... that's not failure.     Difference of failure and not meeting expectations.

Lance not a failure yet either... we have to see what happens

The important issue is how the investment return works out for the team...

Dallas...4th round pick, low investment

SF ... complete disaster

Eagles...win a SB and get all the draft capital/ players in return.

And I'll add....  Indy investment in Wentz...complete disaster.      Washington.... bad ( since it wasn't major investment)

Wentz made a fortune sucking

Last fantasy draft in 45 mins. No luck this year drafted 8,8,9 and this one is 10-sheesh although they tell me I won the "paper" draft in 2 of them

https://www.nfl.com/players/arryn-siposs/stats/career So, I'm watching 2 top HS teams play on TV and these kids are kicking 46,47 yarders inside the 10. Siposs not close(although last year was his best year LOL

Back for a bit - miss anything?

Actually believe Wentz could be a whole lot better, his head gets in the way of his talent. Would you take him over Mariota as a b/u?

Didn't see any early college games that interested me except maybe Navy/Notre Dame - always root against Notre Dame

But it's a free market system.Teams will decide positional value. Basically all RB's would have to boycott, but then you are in breach of contract, and teams will only pay what they think you are worth to them. Howie is ahead of the curve(once again)

Nah…the point I’m making is RBs have been identified as taking a higher and more frequent level of abuse and punishment. In return the league is deciding to pay them less. Easy case to be made here. Can’t deliberately setup any system where the guys taking the most punishment equals a downgrade in earnings so severely.

Nope... gotta move on.  Plus no more cash to spend.   A lot of the media think he would do much better in a real game with the 1st string if needed.

You are just talking about the bell cows...  which Eagles RB takes more punishment than Kelce?

IDK what is the abuse factor for linemen that play every snap vs a RB who plays 1/2 in a series? I'm not buying this

Who "deliberately" set up the system? The free market? These guys haven't been RB's since HS?? They have no clue what they are getting into? The game is changing. Like TE has. TE's are weapons now, much more so than when I played in the 70's. TE has changed, now RB is going through a change. maybe I can blame global warming

Last draft from 10th. I want to change D's for week 1,so took a chance I can pick up Washingtons vs AZ rather that use a pick. I'm also going to change out TE's since I didnt catch they were both off week 9,but there is time for that. Pretty good from the 10 spot I thought. Didn't like the London pick but he was the BPA

Hard to believe I got Hurts at 10 LOL

That's why you split it up via committee  ...then they don't take the punishment.

It's not hard to believe these #s stayed flat.   Less bell cow / work horse RBs out there.

If you played fantasy.... you see the picks have gone away from RBs over to WRs.... because they get the stats now.

It's a passing league... still keeping that # over $10 mil, kinda impressive actually.

The salaries are so lopsidedly slanted towards WR. The guys that tend to only face a smaller DB or two. Out away from the moving mountain players. Mostly not setup for LB to charge and attack. Heck plenty of times they are setup and taught to just get out of bounds.
Now look at the big picture of football and injury. Any lawyer can easily make this case for RB. The league is paying highest contact players the least. RB ….then even could say LB. Easy to see how this is a real sticky situation. Directly conflicting with the physical part of the sport. It’s a problem for the league. Any lawyer could easily make the case that the league is directly deciding to not pay the highest players of the physical part of the game. You either will need to lower the hitting and abuse RBs take. Which would suck! Or avoid destroying the game by leveling the compensation across the league.

Gotta feel sorry for guys making $10 mil

If they struggle to have many even get this much it’s a problem. League money has been ballooning like crazy. RBs numbers actually declining. Directly acknowledging the reason one player struggles to make a third of the career earnings of another is based on physical abuse he receives playing the game. Not that he gets more money for the riskier and more punishing job…he’s punished exponentially financially for it.

So let me ask you... who takes the abuse...Kelce or any single one of our RBs?

Clearly they have identified RBs.

Now you just gave incentive for teams to not draft RB...if you want to increase the scale.   Why pay triple for the RB than you would another spot?

I mentioned that factor. In turn it incentivizes paying vets. Adding the much needed longevity to the positional career.

I fell asleep and missed the game replay. Oh well,no matter, now it's time for the real thing. Kind of sucks we do a short week right off the bat(Pats then VIkes on Thursday)

You know the Vikes are real hungry to take us out in that game. They still have a very fresh taste left of what we’ve been doing to them lately. We have just completely owned those Midwest Mall of America mofos.
