Very simple dynamics...  the players that give your team the best chance to win....they get paid.

Do they have a shorter career because they take the abuse....or because with age they lose the ability to avoid being tackled?

You don't see too many older CF or SS either... that's sports.

Getting paid a lesser annual wage plus shorter career longevity. This has to be addressed. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize how unreasonable this practice is. You can’t expect one position to get the least pay annually at a job that has the least opportunity for longevity of career earnings.

Once you really start thinking through what the RBs could force from the league to change these dynamics…it’s horrible to the game we know. You are essentially setting up a situation where RBs almost have to demand less physicality and …call it ‘violence’. Right now the league is saying because they take too much punishment..they are worth less. RBs solution they are forced to counter with? Lesson the physical part of the game. Maybe even somehow cap numbers of defenders even allowed to be involved at a time against a runner. Not even sure all the ways the game would be forced to adapt and change to lesson the contact. All I know is this whole path leads towards nothing I’d desire the game to soften up to become.

So just gotta force the early earnings at the position to be massively inflated. Counters there acknowledged limited number of years to earn in total. While rookies cost more…it increases the value of RBs with more years in the game. Guys with less tread can be cheaper…but it adds to the positions longevity.

I thought several S moved to SS because of their age. Their pro experience sets them up to add more bulk. They can’t cover the ground deep after losing a step. Their experience many times comes with diagnosing things more rapidly at a closer range.

New England has been ahead of this way sooner.

Bellicheat has drafted RBs in the first. Sony Michel..Maloney

Let’s all remember what Rosie did since regaining his job. Brought in an established Blount. While trading for Ajayi. Brought in Sproles. Drafted Smallwood.
Then decided RBs aren’t important enough to invest in after winning the SB. RB room went downhill in its contribution to the O. Team success mirrored the RB room in achievement. All hitting such a low to force Rosie to rethink his prioritization at the position. Spend a high pick at RB. Couldn’t afford not to anymore. In comes Sanders. Team success climbs. Peaking ….with Sanders peaking.

Are we in the same cycle repeating the past? Think you could argue possibly true. I believe not quite as big a dropoff prioritizing the position as 2018. Can’t remember exactly the injury role at RB in 2018. Blount left. Ajayi was a trip over a toothpick away from working at selling Hoverounds the whole time. Him falling to injury like his career path played out was just too predictable to use as any excuse to believe any other outcome was likely.
Could you compare Penny? How shocking would it be to anybody if Penny only performs at a high level for 10 or fewer games? In his entire remaining career. I don’t know exactly what the over/under should be set at for penny remaining career games at high level? Nobody would be surprised if he fell out of the game this year due to injury. Fairly likely scenario …in truth.

Nope... gotta move on.  Plus no more cash to spend.   A lot of the media think he would do much better in a real game with the 1st string if needed.

Didn't mean we should try and get Wentz back, just less than impressed w/ Mariota

You could say KC as well

Edwards Helaire was a first round pick. Kareem Hunt.

Didn’t they draft Deanthony Thomas and Kniles Davis day two before that? Not bothering to look it all up officially.

Think the Houston Texans are maybe a franchise to point at not drafting RBs high investment.

Yes,let's whine because they can only make 40-50 million in their careers LOL. So spoiled now it's pathetic

So easy fix. Don't be a RB,become a plumber instead LMAO. Not rocket science here. You're going to make them all entitled brats(which they may already be)

McKee looks good for what he is, wouldn't want him as an immediate b/u to Hurts. McKee really slow at getting the ball out with what little I've seen.

Yes the recovery was all Sanders 🤣 Forget about Getting AJ,drafting Smith and Hurts development. Getting Mailiata and Dickerson had no bearing either. Penny is not "established"? neither is Swift? The fact you "don't like them" has no bearing whatsoever

Nah he got it out pretty well with a 3rd string O line. He looked better than Mar by a mile

RB has become a hybrid spot with them having to have to catch more and more.

No surprises here,we've been waiting for Jackson to show and he really hasn't,so time to cut bait

Maybe he did, only watched the 1st half of the Colts game. Miss the days of going over to Lehigh to watch practice

See who we sign, will start watching other teams waivers

Well I can't say he's ready for the 2. He had nothing to lose vs Book really. I could be better than book. So he has some growing to do,but if he keeps going he could be the 2 down the stretch. He's not really a runner though. The 2nd and 3rd string guys he played with were set up for a pocket passer, the 1's are not. So we'll see if the square peg fits in the round hole later. With Mar no need to change the O,with McKee you'd need to

Crap, ND up 42-0 over Navy
