I mentioned that factor. In turn it incentivizes paying vets. Adding the much needed longevity to the positional career.

How are you going to add longevity?   It is what it is... RB ...like CF...SS....etc, not a longevity position.

Getting paid a lesser annual wage plus shorter career longevity. This has to be addressed. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to realize how unreasonable this practice is. You can’t expect one position to get the least pay annually at a job that has the least opportunity for longevity of career earnings.

Yes...you can expect one position to be paid more or less.  That simply depends on their impact on helping their team win.

It's like any other job.   Why do you even debate this.   You run a business...you pay your employees based on they impact your business.

Once you really start thinking through what the RBs could force from the league to change these dynamics…it’s horrible to the game we know. You are essentially setting up a situation where RBs almost have to demand less physicality and …call it ‘violence’. Right now the league is saying because they take too much punishment..they are worth less. RBs solution they are forced to counter with? Lesson the physical part of the game. Maybe even somehow cap numbers of defenders even allowed to be involved at a time against a runner. Not even sure all the ways the game would be forced to adapt and change to lesson the contact. All I know is this whole path leads towards nothing I’d desire the game to soften up to become.

So just gotta force the early earnings at the position to be massively inflated. Counters there acknowledged limited number of years to earn in total. While rookies cost more…it increases the value of RBs with more years in the game. Guys with less tread can be cheaper…but it adds to the positions longevity.

Yeah...you are setting up a game where the RBs rotate....they can extend their careers and their effectiveness if they rotate.

Wild concept there ... you are just figuring it out.

I think you want the game to go back to college style or 1970s style ball.   There is a reason the league prints money...the game has evolved to what people want to see.

Think of it as WWF... if they showed a match from 35 -40 years ago...when dude would be in a headlock for 5 minutes...you lose viewers. Too slow of a pace.    Nobody wants 40 handoffs anymore.    Too boring.

I thought several S moved to SS because of their age. Their pro experience sets them up to add more bulk. They can’t cover the ground deep after losing a step. Their experience many times comes with diagnosing things more rapidly at a closer range.

CF = center field.... SS = shortstop... those are baseball positions where you see young guys because it's a young man's position...just like RB.   Simply because of what the position needs to do...you need youth and movement to avoid being tackled

Always getting it. Explaining through all the factors.

Only one factor matters... the impact the player has on W and L.

Bellicheat has drafted RBs in the first. Sony Michel..Maloney

He has used committee for decades now.

Let’s all remember what Rosie did since regaining his job. Brought in an established Blount. While trading for Ajayi. Brought in Sproles. Drafted Smallwood.
Then decided RBs aren’t important enough to invest in after winning the SB. RB room went downhill in its contribution to the O. Team success mirrored the RB room in achievement. All hitting such a low to force Rosie to rethink his prioritization at the position. Spend a high pick at RB. Couldn’t afford not to anymore. In comes Sanders. Team success climbs. Peaking ….with Sanders peaking.

Yeah....when he took over a team that almost went a decade without a playoff win.... mostly having LeSean McCoy...one of his first moves was to unload the other highly paid RB...Murray.   He hasn't paid an RB since... one bad high investment of Sanders.

And yeah...i agree...the success has been better since.   2 Superbowls since going to the committee ... playoffs 5 out of 6 years.   3 years with a playoff win.

You just made a great argument for not paying the one RB and using committee.    That's not even using KC and New England success with the committee.   Great point. I agree with you 100%

Edwards Helaire was a first round pick. Kareem Hunt.

More good examples of their success peaking with using committees.   Great point...as compared to when they had Larry Johnson

Dude...I had to stop reading once you said lawyer.

It's a simple concept...the game has evolved into a passing league.  The RB doesn't impact the game anymore.      That's why they aren't getting the big money.   Not a difficult concept.

The catcher takes the most abuse in baseball...shorter careers... they don't get paid either.   It's the impact on winning that matters for pay.   Nothing else.

Send lawyers, guns and money. That would be great, letting lawyers decide the rosters LMAO

" according to some NFL sources...the Colts are not expected to receive a 1st round pick for Taylor.....   DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE CONTRACT HE IS DEMANDING"

That was supposedly earlier this offseason.

But who knows.    I still believe Irsay wants to keep him for this year.... and go from there.  Tag him if needed etc.

The "Warren Zevon Commission"

RB Josh Jacobs just signed a 2 yr deal worth up to 26 mill

The Gov of Nevada wants ACDC for the half time show

Was up all night, this is all I learned

Must be nerve wracking to be a bubble player right now

Roster at 78

You know what would really suck??? Being player 54 and watching your team win the SB LOL

Why would you sign Swain at the last minute just to cut him? He didn't even have time to unpack or have his car stolen

To play some in the last preseason game because they had some injured WRs.   And you didn't really " sign him" in the sense of signing .... it's the signing without the guarantee... tryout...etc.

Maybe they bring him back on PS?

Wouldn't be surprised to see some more players like Sermon put on IR

Think we're down to 70
