League was awful last year.. worst I've seen it as a fan.  Legit 5 teams...KC, Cincy, Buffalo, Eagles,  SF.    In previous years, i don't see Minn, Dallas, Jax, SD, NYG or Seattle as playoff teams..certainly not Tampa and I can't even remember the other AFC teams??? 

Just awful football.   Where a team like SF can do as well as they did.   Yet still be that far behind the Eagles

Yeah,I'm trying to point out to Ham(and apparently failing) that the niners didn't play anyone last year,we didn't either. We met in post season and won(no Qb helps). IMO we're the roadblock for SF not the other way around

Did you watch the playoffs.... scrub Giants team we did whatever.. SF was toast as soon as Purdy was done...the only legit team with a chance to beat us was KC.   In that game both QBs passed well.   That's what was needed to win in that level of a game. 

Good defenses... when a loss means they are done.... will not lose by letting the QB just run.   

Hurts has improved the passes that have more of a degree of difficulty.   He was always accurate on the short ones.   

Having a top WR corps...best duo in franchise history ....kinda helps too. 

At this point... once they lock up Smith... the floor is high, no shot for poor results...just comes down to if he can win a SB.   He was right there except for the most costly mistake a player can make.... but that was a fluke IMO. Out of character.   So we shall see.   But the GM has locked in a good support system for his next few years. While keeping his cap hit down.

The window is open for a while... unlike SF.
