But those Viking WRs no joke even the new rookie had a nice day, then you have Hockenson at TE and obviously JJ leading the charge

Hock better than Henry IMO,and the Vikes have alot better weapons than NE. IDK I had that penciled in as a win,but I may need to erase that, especially on a short week. Yet again,it's not like the offense over exerted themselves LOL

Isn’t bradberry likely to miss Thursday as well with a concussion… though I do have to say gotta like Jobe even if the window watching him was small… that little push at the end likely played a factor in the WR not getting that 2nd foot down

IDK if he is in protocol or not, good question though

Throwing to the RB can be good. But first job of the RB should be to run the ball. We have a dominant rushing offense all in place….except the RB. Brilliant!

Wait we can't dominate because you said our RB's suck. The MISTAKE was NOT playing Penny(you know your basher RB?) in a rain game(see crap decision by Siri). No matter,we(see Hurts) never passed well enough to open up the run game

A team down two scores obviously us more likely to throw while the team up is more likely to run. But Gainwell isn’t capable of running the clock out to close the game out. Running when they know the run is coming? Nope. Then Mac took advantage of our D. They went right down the field and scored a TD near the end. That was about 60 yards passing difference right there.

Hurts went back to the old 1 read and run, then failed to run. Missing Goedert on numerous occasisions. Hit those and your running game comes to life, which Hurts FAILED to do/see. Failure on about every front. Took few positives way from that game expect some of the young guys looked workable for later

Belicheat never panics, never have seen him panic. When you let up you get KICKED and we let off the gas. Hurts was AWFUL in both the run game and seeing open receivers. He got the money time to go back to sleep. he regressed on everything we saw last year

Nope, thats what we got Penny for and Siri failed to even dress him, very stupid move in a rain game. The failures started before the anthem was sung

The fact you just want to place blame on everyone but Hurts just baffles me…. We were bad but Hurts didn’t help anything either our passing game was horrendous if I’m not scared of the pass I can definitely focus more on stopping the run.

The OL didn’t do a great job blocking either not for the run or the pass.

Obviously having a lead then fumbling the ball giving NE great field position doesn’t help us damn gains(oh no wait that was Hurts)

But at the end of the day I’m perfectly fine chalking it up to a bad game after no preseason but the excuses gotta stop

I will say this though, possibly not dressing Penny was on purpose figuring we would beat NE. He will be daisy fresh on Thursday

So AJ got like 76,therefore one play was nearly as good of an output as AJ had all game

Goedert 1 catch-REALLY??? Well he had more targets but Hurts couldn't deliver. Any yards from the slot spot? If there was I didn't see any. I'm with 93,bad game, but we can't do this and there best be some yelling in todays meetings

I just think Bellicheat worked hard this summer to come up with the D plan. AJ and others first thoughts were of how they faced things they didn’t expect…,and even still didn’t understand. The obvious read would have been man coverage…but he went with Zone. Confused some with coverages over the middle. QB and WR adjust the playcall according to the read. Not so sure they were on the same page with the reads.

Where did the TE factor in this. . Maybe look at him when he is wide open...  coverage scheme doesn’t matter if they leave a guy wide open....but the QB will actually have to look.

$250m.   Not time to be a mental midget anymore...no longer a young QB.  The previous guy won the division while being the only QB in league history to throw for 4000 yards without a 500 yard WR.

There are 2 pro bowl WRs for this guy.  Time to play the position outside of the college style RPO.  Get back in the pocket...go through progression, find the open guy then make the throw.

Look off a safety etc.

It's game 1...they are rusty, bad weather etc.  I'll give the excuses for now.   But this can't go backwards from a mental standpoint.

Except the RG

Patriots were ranked 7th in rushing yards allowed last year..   tied for 4th in yards per carry allowed...AR 4.1 yards

Agree...Boston Scott to me doesn't bring anything to the table that Gainwell and Swift don't.   Plus to me...split up the snaps to keep them fresh.

But again $250 m guy needs to perform basic functions of an NFL QB.  Tua and Mac Jones ...the Alabama teammates seem to be able to do it.

Yeah...it's Gainwell's fault.   We were up 16 points in the 1st Q... they had plenty of time to run.

I think you are going to see teams pass the ball on us this year.  I know it goes against your left field theories...  but our run D should be good.  Much better up front without Hargrave

He was awful.  He knows it though.

The real world is coming though this year.   Last year was not normal.  The league was awful last year ...no challenge.

Better competition...and getting a quarter of a billion dollars... no longer the little brother over achiever that " golly gee whiz, he's just such a great guy"

Now you are expected to do it....it's different  now.

Come on.... the first drive was good....all Gainwell.   If that was Sanders...the excuse would have been that we stopped getting him the ball.

I'm a passing guy myself.  3rd down you gotta make passes to keep the ball.

It's NFL football...not college where you can just run over everyone.   Last 2 years were some awful competition. That's not normal.   To win this year...just like the SB..  they will need to pass the ball on key plays.

But tell me when you have seen a Patriots defense get run on when they knew it was coming?

In the SB we tried remember? Blount...couldn't do it.   It takes a lot more than the RB.

Great point. The OL lost a little beef compared to last season
