Brees did just fine as did Russell this is just another excuse that shouldn’t be made for Hurts… I don’t ever remember giving Brees this pass

Brees could be argued the best at vision and accuracy in the history of the game. I never gave any passes. Highlighted what I labeled weaknesses. If your bar for Hurts is at the highest level of Brees then you always will be disappointed. Hurts brings so many great attributes to the table.

GM and coaches set us up with Gainwell workhorsing as starting RB. The O didn’t play during the PS. Siri even admitting it was a mistake that showed up. Game events dictated how things unfolded sone what. If we had been down instead of up? I believe the game would have played out much differently. Have a new OC trying to figure things out here. Everybody here really expected him to be peaking at his job week one?

Gsinwell agsin didn’t do bad very bad false narrative by you

Why do you keep wanting to lower the bar for hurts… yes my bar is at the highest lvl for my QB that making 250m

I’ll see if instead of video evidence of fighter pilots and whole towns taken showing aliens exist…if I can find some stat box score for you to look at to change your opinion.

Money isn’t ever going to make any player perform like Drew Brees. Sorry, just reality.

Really the only bad series Gainwell had vs NE was last drive where he gave us 4 yards on two carries I’m also going to go out on a limb here and say the ribs were already hurt by then

Please define "legit starter" Is it those pesky stats again??? How many yards did Sanders "gash" ATL for?

Sanders Pro Bowl last season with us. Gainwell looking like a third stringer.

You paid a guy to be a top QB in the league highest paid at the time mind you… so yea being able to perform at a Brees level should be a minimum or any other top QB for that matter why we paid you

Gainwell isn’t bad. He just isn’t very good either. He knows all the plays. Can block, run and receive all at an ok level.

The fact you keep wanting to lower the bar for hurts is amazing to me oh we can’t expect hurts to play at a top QB level but then you turn around and say he is the stud leader of the team and can’t win without him lmao….

like you can’t have it both ways my guy either be the stud and perform or don’t

Don’t think there is one player playing at a Drew Brees level. So that’s an extreme high level "minimum.” I would love to heap praise on anybody playing near a Drew Brees level currently.

Again horrendous take… great first series only meaningful carry after that drive in the first half he gives you 9 on 2 carries l(4.5).

then he is dealing with a rib injury I’m maybe guessing but going to assume it happened first half…

The bar is simply being able to see open guys.

Think there are plenty of guys up there Mahomes for one, healthy Joey B, Herbert up there.., they are all playing like top tier QBs there games not the same as Bree’s but they still playing at his level

He clearly has shown and performed at a top QB stud level. Outperformed Mahomes in the SB. Our team couldn’t manage to win a game he didn’t play in. I’m not lowering the bar for Hurts at all. I do however believe in him as our leader. We’ll only go as far as Hurts can take us. He has numerous outstanding qualities he brings to the table. But I’m not at expecting him to be of the level of Brees with vision and accuracy. Not realistic.

Too many touches in a row.   He wanted to come out...they kept him in to go no huddle so NE couldn't sub.

If you have the committee...you gotta use it.   I still can't figure out why Penny wasn't in there.

They ran their best in 2021 when Howard was in the mix....Penny should be in there.

A true starting RB would have made much more of those opening carries than Gainwell did even. Could have been huge plays by a playmaker!

But he can’t read a defense or see open WRs got it and no we shouldn’t expect him to this is what it sounds like from you and honestly it’s just sad how you continue to lower the bar for hurts when it comes to being a QB

So he should be able to see Goedert.   Showing the ability to play means he can do it.

It's OK to admit he had a terrible game.  It doesn't take away anything from the past.

And a true QB wouldn’t have have had so many 3 and outs when we out the ball in his hands.. much larger sample as well… see how horrible tge take sounds

Every game…every QB I could point to missed open players getting the ball. That’s just basic football knowledge most understand already. Whomever you pint to as the best QB ever? Can see him not targeting open guys at times.

Don't even need much there for these easy plays.

I do agree and admit he got confused and faked out by Bellicheat’s brilliance. AJ was probably the first thing he said and admitted. Commentators pointed out some of the brilliant D disguising during the game even. Bellicheat I respect his abilities. Everybidy should. Didn’t Bellicheat even get the best of the great Drew Brees by taking his corner and shutting down Graham? Some label Bellicheat the best at it. Wasn’t the first and won’t be the last time Bellicheat does this.

So you finally coming on board? You labeled him a Running QB and not worthy of starting before last season.
