Just see the obvious situation rearing it’s ugly head again this season. Siri will get destroyed if he doesn’t understand Swift is the starting RB now. So feeling confident all is fans, if nothing else, will force Siri to get his head out of his a22 about Gainwell over Swift anymore. Will come down to forcing Gainwell too much still as the number two. Which could cost us a win or two. But the pattern that is looking so obvious we are facing this season with Gainwell. Swift will get injured. It will be a big important game…like for the division near seasons end. Or …so hoping not….in the postseason again. Division title playoff home seeding at stake game Siri forces Gainwell as the starter again. While blindly riding him too long to overcome the decision..again. Or playoff game…win or go home…the teams season riding with Gainwell. It’s been an issue Gainwell’s entire career so far. But failure in the most important game last season still wasn’t enough to open Siri’s eyes to the reality with his chosen RB. Starter workhorse Gainwell with the Division Title or playoff elimination on the line isn’t good enough.

Swift is likely the better RB but again Gains is a guy that gave 4.5ypc last year overreacting because of a bad game vs a top run D is insane.

Mind you Penny just looked slow on his few carry’s vs the Vikings

Scott gave you 40 yards 4ypc  .01 ypc more then Gains gave us vs NE a far superior D 

Really not seeing how anyone is making a case that Gainwell is worse then Penny or Scott right now.

Why take away such a top runblocking pile mover? Rather get behind him to get that yard. Don’t take away the mauler to follow behind. If you said put in DT Davis I’d be much more open to that. Taking away Mailata from being the pusher with his hands by putting the ball in his hands instead just feels like an all around weakening of what you are trying to do. Don’t get this thought. But just my two cents. Oline and TEs are top priority needs up front in the sneak.

Short summary gainwell sucks, Swift is better…. Siri is obviously forcing Gains as the starter…. So stuff he has been saying since NE.

Atleast he is actually saying a RB that probably better then Gains now though and not Scott

Just use you eyes if nothing else. Big talent gap. Just obvious. Like I said…not hating on Gainwell really. I want him to do well. I see and appreciate his value he brings. He can do every RB role ok. Full playbook available with him on the field. As the third or fourth string RB he’s a fine fit. The issue is Siri forcing Gainwell overreaching. Siri has forced and given Gainwell everything since day one. If it’s Gainwell hate for me to recognize the player just doesn’t have starter and playmaker level potential even….then so be it. I like him…as the backups…backup just fine. There he fits. Good role for him to just supplement the RB room.

It hard to stop yes but don’t let teams get in situations to use it then. 

Hurts really has a great combination he brings to making the sneak so difficult to defend. I actually can’t say I’ve seen anybody as effective…ever. That’s how this whole play started in the first place. Him and our Oline…arguably TEs also…are such a fantastic setup for the everybody knowing and seeing it coming Sneak. Then it evolved into the scrum that every D fears now. I can just picture the opposing DC the night before playing us sweating in his nightmare about the whole game coming down to just one play….one second left…one yard line…Eagles ball…TD wins it. DC awakes drenched! 

If I was a DC facing our goaline sneak.. I’d consider all out jump guessing leapers over the top at Hurts. If you are offsides it’s just half the distance penalty. Get called for that penalty three straight times to get to one shot getting two LB/S getting the clean shot at Hurts before the sneak push can get going. Best way to stop the play. Well after having three extreme large men shoulder to shoulder that can’t be moved in the middle. Kelce and Jurgens don’t have the size.

I don’t understand fully why guys get let go  instead of kept on IR. It’s good to the player being fair to him. But fifth string RBs are fairly easy to get a hold of. I prefer using that for a younger unproven player…higher chance to unlock more potential.

Why did he accept coming to our PS then? Maybe he knows something I don’t though. But he was just on the streets. He should have been capable of landing a backup role somewhere at least, right? Nobody hired him as a backup…but he’s got a starting job lined up? What team has a lesser starters than us…minus Dean especially?

So it’s pretty much official now that our great chance at winning it all last season was weighed down by RB decisions. Rostering a RB never dressing pretty much. Going with Gainwell to win the big game. Seemed like things were so setup for the team last season that NFC Championship game was maybe the only other possible roadblock. Could almost say the whole thing came down to just the one SB game though. Not sure if any other game was really significant the way things were so laid on a platter last year. Rostered Sermon who wasn’t worthy of a roster spot. Wasn’t even a guy forced to do so by need. Then rolling with Gainwell…before having to just delete the RB from most the rest of the game entirely. Two RBs on the 53 of such a great opportunity team…neither being capable of helping. Hindsight is clearly showing bad calls on those.
