Yeah, well he and I are only a year apart in age so he better hurry up if he wants to be considered a Champion. Even a blind squirrel finds an acorn once in a while.

What constitutes being a champion.   Do you need to win 2 SBs?   Winning one doesn't count?   I'm just curious because I'm wondering how many owners we can call a champion if they need to win 2 SBs?

There was a preseason. This all happened to create our 53 man roster.

And ZERO people were counting on both WR's to go down early

So,we signed Alshon, then maybe a better deal came along. You TRY to trade so you get the better deal(or what you perceive to be a better deal).Call it backstabbing or whatever you want, but that's the NFL and sports in general

We guaranteed Alshon two more seasons. There was no better thing that came along. He realized he screwed up. So tried to shop him. Totally different than anything you are trying to spin.

You can place a little blame here on Djax, for postpoining his surgery. That is of course his decision, still if he had it done he may have played at seasons end

You buy a car.On your way home you see the same car for 5k less. You take the car back and buy the other? Or are you already locked in to the deal you signed? if someone offers you what you paid for car 1,you TAKE IT and then go buy the lesser priced one?

More like: you buy a car. Realize you got totally ripped off. Try to pawn it off on somebody else before you get caught paying for it all.

How do you know no better thing came along? I'm not spinning anything, that is how biz works bud. It's all a game of advantages and any player is tradable(see baseball)

And yet I was still ****ing about Ward not making roster.

I think I got the last one in on our spot. Put a link for Cook(or anyone that came late) on there

SO,you knew Alshon and Jjax were going down. Thats awesome!!!! And you saw Jjaw WOW it in practice(so lets not play him you know?)In 3 years Ward couldn't make the roster for 3 years-THREE.But somehow now he should have been a starter.he started because he was the best we had LEFT

You were here(well there) but you know what I mean. My first complaint when they announced the 53 was Hollins didn’t earn a job. Ward earned a spot. And how could they keep so few WR and TE. I thought Perkins should have made the squad. He could be depth for TE and WR. This isn’t hindsight. These were my initial thoughts.

I recall this for sure... Perkins was the " matchup nightmare"    and you were saying Hollins had to earn his spot.

I think Perkins can beat your worst cover guy. That’s all we need out of him really. If he has to become our number one WR or TE we are in trouble. But at least you backed me up in your own backhanded way. I’ll take it LOL

Think Trini made the last post, words to a song, tired, can't remember what song it was

Actually GNC, pretty obvious that DJax and Alshon would get injured and miss games

Just really hoped DJaxand Alshon wouldn’t miss that many games

Djax didn't miss time in TB? Alshon didn't miss much time in Chicago? IDK you can't microscope every decision we make,Noone is perfect

Not true. But some guys that got hurt was fairly predictable. All the Chipper guys didn’t get hurt. Shipping MCCoy and DJax out wasn’t because of injury. Hiring Chip wasn’t about injury. Like I just was saying to GNC I didn’t agree with fielding so few pass catchers last year. Was there anyway Miller was suiting up last season and doing much of anything? Avery? How about the move for Tate? List is just too long over too many years. Injury hasn’t been the only problem unfortunately.

Dude... forget Chip ... live in the now... We are talking Howie not your resume of predictions... my point.  Jernigan got hurt, what if he never did.   Malik and DeSean if they stay healthy this year is it a mistake?   When you get zero out of guys you pay, it's a mistake ... obviously.   They need to play.    At the time was there a better DT or WR that you would have chosen to sign?  If so, then its more credible on your part.

As for Alshon ... IDK why anyone would argue there.... that was just plain dumb to change anything with his contract last year?   They didn't save any cap space that they used... the math didn't make sense?    Outside of football... his age... any locker room issue... or injury ..... strictly from a nerd accountant salary cap perspective... it didn't make sense?

JJAW made some good plays, 1st yrs jitters

Nah.. with Alshon ... it was more like ... you live in the desert and you bought a boat, and then 5 minutes later you realize it was a mistake.  There was as much upside (forget risk, I'm just talking ZERO upside) in changing Alshon's deal.

I will toss this out.Possibly they were thinking they could lock Alshon up until he retired. If you went by his SB performance, that could be possible. If he played at a high level last year and we assumed we could get another year out of him,it would make some sense(even if you dont agree with it)
