Problem is we don't know for sure. Was he even offered 7.5 mil per year for 3-4 years? Yes he signed for 9 AFTER we released him. If we offered him a contract before he was released/ or hit FA (not sure which), There is no reason to think he wouldn't sign. After all, he was hurt most of the time he was here.....

I don't think the Eagles were going to pay that for him.  The 7.5 mil.  They don't invest in that position.  He was injured a lot too.  I think they were fine letting him walk and not paying him.

Although I agree that he does not tend to blitz, We have not been generating as much pressure as he likes, so he has been blitzing more this year. To have an all around LB such as parsons adds to the options is all I am saying. The dude could play every down and is fast enough to cover RB's and TE's. Plus he has instincts that our LB's lack. Maybe he would not be used right, or maybe Swartz would love to have the options to use him as needed. I don't know for sure. But you just don't draft a guy if you know he will upgrade that position..... Swartz may be gone after this year anyway.....

The only thing with Parsons is that he's almost a lock to be a top 10 pick, and I can't see us using a pick that high on a LB. I would guess the team would take a CB, DE or DT in that spot, or look to trade back.

The way this team has played this year and the games they have coming up I wouldn't be so sure bud. I think they definitely lose at least 4 of the next 5 and even then I'm being rather generous to say they could win 1. And by then I think the division may well be just about out of reach.

He was saying the player was going to be a top 10 pick .... and more so that he Eagles wouldn't pick a LB that high... not so much that they won't be bad enough to get a top 10 draft position.     This I tend to agree... they avoid selecting LB, RB and S to a fault with the first pick.

Yeah you're right sorry I misread that. Yeah I agree I can't see this current FO taking a LB in the first round.

In my "guesstimation" we should pick between 9th and 14th. In the case of 9th parson would be attainable. We have 4 6ths with 2 almost BTB. I would happily give up some of those to move up for him,or anyone else. If we go Dline,Twyman is my pick with the best available LB in 2,or a CB in 2 and a LB in 3,but I would not wait past that point. nailing those 3 in any order would be super beneficial

Except Howie loves his homers. My first choice Twyman is also a homer,so I would suspect one of those 2 are our first pick. With line players at a premium(I mean the difference makers),I could see this. There are still nice LB's in 2/3

IDK tough to say for me. A rebuild is like what they did in Miami, get rid of basically everyone, change QB's and start all  over, I would tend to call us "transitioning" from old to new. So I suppose it depends on your definition

Well, I don't think we were replacing the QB, so it's a forced  rebuild IMO that has happened a year earlier than they wanted.

As for my OL next year... I think JBS and BG are on point.  Kelce is the X factor if he retires or not.     Also, I think they may trade Dillard if he doesn't win the starting job.

Now as for defense... I don't  think they can move Malik or Graham for money saving purposes. In fact, it probably will cost them more depending upon who they bring in to replace them.  They could use a post June 1 cut ... but then it just pushes the money to 2022.     The Eagles need to get down under the cap before the season starts in March.  I don't see them cutting Malik or Graham post June 1, because the idea would be to add a free agent at that point.  It could happen, but most of the good free agents are signed by then.    If the cap effect is the same going into 2022... just get the services of the player.   This goes for Graham and Malik,   Now, they could trade them for some value ... if it's enough.  IDK.  But $$$ wise it's not really going to help.

If we got 3-4 ... the NT and the two OLBs are the issue.   This would be more of a possibility if we move on from Graham and/or Barnette.   Who knows?   But we didn't build the 3-4 correctly last time.  and we didn't call it aggressively.   IMO, the best D is an aggressive 3-4, blitzers can come from anywhere....   heavier DL to stop the run, etc.   But the worst D is a passive 3-4 which we played under Chip.   2 gapping with your DL and not sending the other guys aggressively into the backfield is a waste.  You allow the offense to dictate too much in that scenario.  You allow OGs to get up on your ILBs on run plays... and you mush rush the QB with 3 guys or an obvious 4th guy.   Gotta play it Pittsburgh style or how Green Bay did it with Matthews.

The OLB are the issue we have a guy that was a damn good NT for the Steelers

Where is the Howie "loves homers coming from "

We drafted who Sanders Penn St. Shaun Bradley Temple.... not a real long list of homers drafted under Howie just saying

Starting oline would be Mailata/Dillard-Herbig-Seumalo-Brooks-Lane (assuming Kelce retires.) Opeta, Driscoll, Pryor and the loser of the Mailata/Dillard battle for LT would be the reserves.

I don't see us changing to a 3-4. We have too much invested in the dline to change things. Plus, we weren't great at a 3-4 when we tried it, so I don't think the owner would go for it.

That’s a tough one with the Dline. Some could argue Hargrave being better in a 3-4. Cox is good for a 3-4....maybe a better fit as he ages. Miller, Avery and Ostman you could argue as fits for a 3-4.

Agreed. They might have coughed up the dough had he not struggled so mightily with durability issues.

Jordan Howard is visiting us with Clement on COVID list wouldn’t shock me if we signed him cheap.... Plus instant improvement as a power back and pass blocker

You probably are right. I refuse to go down this path though. We matchup well with the Browns. They don’t intimidate me. We are going to win this weekend! Believe!

A Year later than it should have been according to my clock

I’m going on the complete opposite we turning the ship around sticking to my 9-6-1 finish lol....What’s the point of a bold prediction of it’s not actually bold

Cleveland- W going to be ugly but we get it done

GB- we have had there number sticking with it we knock of GB in lambaeu

NO- Get lucky cuz of the Brees injury but we get the W.

AZ/Seattle- honestly these are the toughest teams in my eyes for us with our struggles with mobile QBs but think we beat one lose to the other.... I’m going with beat Seattle lose to AZ

Everybody is playing Nickel and Dime mostly now. 3-4 or 4-3 is an old debate.

Yeah, he is struggling this year for sure.   But my point was, those are the things you need to look at when switching to 3/4.     A bigger dude in the middle and the quicker dudes on the outside that can do more than just rush the passer.   The 3/4 DEs... pretty much are 4/3 DTs.

But I don’t agree with not valuing a LB. I wouldn’t go crazy trying to get three of them brought in. We just need one legit stud. Then you have Edwards, Singleton and Taylor to compliment him. But that one stud plays every down. Could even just use plenty of one LB sets and schemes. But that’s the second level of defense. We need to bring it all together with that stud. I’m a fan of Edwards and Singletary.....but still want this. Our LB are out in a very difficult position. The Dline attacks and penetrates. They don’t protect our LBs. We have our Corners and at least one S play pretty deep routinely. So that’s a ton of ground to cover for the second level defender. Remember how our D looked...and then how our D looked when Bradham came here? Transformative! Just that obvious.

Hargrave at Nose with an older Cox at DE sounds like a perfect fit

I play my only competition in fantasy. So I need to decide Murray or Herbert at QB. This is a tough call

I agree but just stated facts the guy we signed was a pretty good NT... Maybe we are the ones that Fed to signing a NT to be a 43 DT

But I think we’d be stupid to fire most anybody after this freakish anomaly of a season. I’m against it. Scarangello and Marty Mornhinweg I’d probably be fine with them moving on from whatever their job is now. If I’m firing anyone else it’s Press Taylor.

If I’m going down it would be with the MVP Murray having a bad week. You go the other way you’d feel like a moron if it didn’t work. I mean...MVP....hard to bench ....MVP
