HP’s Palm Pilot! I had that! Sweet machine!

I don’t even remember having it really. My daughter found it just the other day. Only reason I even remembered it. But it must have been at least 8 phones ago for me. I can’t even remember how getting data was through the cellphone company. Think they had me on some plan where I was allowed less data than I use in a single day now for the whole month. Any I went over they charged an arm and a leg for.

Gnats missing G,T,LB and Bark. I thought this would be over at the 1/2

Starting to get out of hand now for NY

The obvious reason Miles barely saw the ball in college until his senior season.

Who cares about college...it's year 5 of the pros...just like after targeting Goedert 150 times.... Hurts not having a TE in college is irrelevant now.

Sanders will continue to have tread on the tires... he won't get the usage because he isn't good enough to keep on the field on key downs

Dude is better than people give him credit for. There’s nothing he can’t do as a RB.

Remember how huge the debate was about drafting him? Many were completely against it. I was all about it. Many were much more all about the other RB types that dominated that draft. Back just that short time ago…most were so focused on the pure rusher being much more valuable. That was his biggest flaw area many debates against taking him in the first round even because. The Scat Back label was applied to any receiving capable RB that wasn’t a goaline equipped runner.

Believe our history with Westy gave Eags fans a bit of different perspective than most. We welcomed Sproles later when everybody still under appreciated his talents.

I believe everybody that is forming an educated opinion cares. I informed everybody of the massive load that Taylor hauled at Wisconsin. Zeke did in college. Huge factors in my eyes. But take my viewpoint out even. GMs are counting those college wear and tear amounts.

  • Author

Taylor you really have to consider all that college beating when factoring in his milage remaining. Huge factor. Miles NFL usage no doubt matters. But big time college ball for RBs factors in massively at the position. Think Barkley we might be seeing how his college usage was too massive. Could easily argue Saquan’s college ball really been majorly effecting his durability in the pros. I’d argue the biggest factor against Taylor is college usage. Just sort sighted without considering the whole factors to ignore college Rb usage when considering their longevity probabilities.

Miles would be just hitting peak Rb experience. It’s a massive factor. His bodies wear and tear would grade at a normal NFL rookie level. So you just aren’t weighing all information/factors/ variables too ignore this.

  • Author

Taylor on the other hand? He’s the opposite of Sanders. He was rode hard in college. His college wear and tear could be seen as his milage running out now.

  • Author

Not sure what you are basing the RB market and situation on? The main factor is wear and tear based on touches. College counting, I’d argue, as each touch counting more than half as much as pro touches. Biggest factor hurting any RB being any over usage moments.

  • Author

Once you realize why the RB situation is what it is? Then you see the evidence of decisions being made league wide by GMs at the position. Guys that were used a bunch in college then four or five years in the pros? The advanced stats seem to point towards only a few exceptionally durable players maintaining peak performance through a second four year pro contract. Several RB do last. But it appears the percentages point towards not most will.

  • Author

But this being the main reasoning and logic behind the RB market isn’t going against Sanders. He didn’t have overuse in college. Very little actually. Then hasn’t been abused in the pros either. So he is completely different. The fan that just sees the highlight keyword about RB doesn’t understand the situation.

Colleges tend to ride a stud RB athlete so massively. That where it mostly all begins.

IDK that kick off. I saw no contact. it was close

It’s not so much that RBs aren’t valued. Rookie wage scale is fixed. The second pro contract is where the big money really starts. It isn’t because GM and coaches don’t value the position that the big money isn’t being paid to RBs. It’s based on the data stating the longevity at the position fades quickest. Not just pro wear and tear. College also.

  • Author

The data is saying that RBs aren’t maintaining their peak after three years of high usage in college…and 7 years as a pro. 4 or 5 years as a pro being under rookie contract. So signing a RB to that second contract isn’t looking high percentage wise according to advanced analytics. 12 years of pro and college wear and tear for RBs such a high percentage don’t achieve.

  • Author

It’s the probability of maintaining peak performance at RB into that 8th season that stats are arguing isn’t a good investment. Not just blindly believing the league doesn’t value RBs at all. Missing the whole understanding of the situation if you just think the league won’t pay RBs because they aren’t valued. There is a reason behind it all. Second contracts and third are the huge paydays in the NFL. That’s what RBs aren’t receiving. There are RBs we’ve seen defy this logic completely. But the percentages and odds are against it. The numbers are saying most RB fall off before the play their 7th NFL season. Completely factoring in college carries. But you have to remember that there are large numbers of RBs that are included in those analytics.

  • Author

Value Miles Sanders however you judge him. But this factor driving the huge paydays of RBs isn’t against him. It’s all about wear and tear. Sanders has an average rookie RB level of that. Never been overused and abused in his career(college or pro).

  • Author

How good or bad Sanders is? That’s a whole other argument and discussion. But he shouldn’t be considered at the end of his milage as an athlete over the wear and tear he’s occurred related to his position.

  • Author

Miles has his positives and negatives just as a player. So those judgments apply. What you believe of him in all areas as a player is just one side of the puzzle. Can make arguments good and bad about him there …IMO. But don’t confuse the positional longevity league issue with the RB market as why he should apply like most others to that.

  • Author

Just think many here are missing why the RB market is looking like it is. Misunderstanding the most key factor that is driving these financial numbers.

  • Author

Not a bunch of RB grabbing these third big contract paydays like every other position. Just start there when understanding why the position doesn’t have a strong list of players making the big money.

  • Author

So when just out of context thinking about Sanders receiving a contract that pays at whatever number highest at his position? Think you guys(not all) are missing the real situation. You just are applying it like any other position league wide. But none of those are equal. WR and Lineman sign three or four contracts to buoy those position numbers. Just adding to how high the second contracts dish out.

  • Author

Sanders low milage is the main ingredient that makes him so much more valuable to receive a contract towards his 7th and 8th NFL seasons. Taylor is much much better a RB. But Wisconsin massively used him. Numbers are brutal if you are considering everything I’m pointing out here. It looks like a case can be made that Taylor’s wear and tear milage might already have expired before his rookie contract has ended. He went down injured last season. Not sure what is fully going on this season. But his superior ability isn’t the reasoning he hasn’t been thrown the money. Milage is why. If analytics are saying most RB don’t maintain through 7th and 8th pro year at RB. He might already be considered at 6th year body abuse wise. Signing him towards 7th and 8th pro seasons really doesn’t look wise.
