I feel bad for the kid.  The early part of his career is being wasted here.  If he never gets an opportunity to start here (which seems likely), then Howie really screwed him by drafting him.

Yeah, I said before,I have nothing against the player, the player is FINE, the PICK was bad. Could also be a guy we keep and let Suds go. Same situation there. I have zero clue if Suds could start elsewhere, but once again he is relegated to being #3, so who knows? As fans, we never see enough of either of them to know. I know we like the kid from App St in this draft. he can be had late or maybe even as a UDFA. Sad part for me is I am talking about the draft again, instead of who we're going to dominate and destroy in the playoffs lol. We also see some QB's go out for extended time and I think we got him as someone who could possibly lead this team. Not real sure we have that confidence in Suds( he seems more like the game manager Foles was). If Hurts progresses that could be a bargaining chip on Wentz's next contract. That's the only rational reason I can see for making that pick.

We took Reagor and Hurts   My picks were JJ and Gladney(CB- TCU) trying to give Schwartz a new toy to play with. IDK how he is doing. Some had Mims in 2 as another WR pick, but my heart was set on JJ but Ham beat me,he wanted Reagor

SO maybe the Vikes trolled me here because they got them both (JJ and Gladney) which were the 2 I had pegged for us

Ohhh man! Did you have to bring it up?! Really?! 😂

Started both the Jefferson and Gladney T’s. Knew it would be one or the other for the Eagles but the Viks getting them both... Shame on them! LOL

Ohhh well, we got Reagor and Hurts. Let’s first see what we have there...

My first choice in the 1st was to hope one of the top 3 WRs (Ruggs, Jeudy, Lamb) dropped to us.  I had JJ pegged as my 2nd (and more realistic) choice (although Lamb came within sniffing distance).

In the 2nd I also liked Gladney or Winfield, Jr.  When I saw Epenesa fell to our pick in the 2nd I thought he would have been really good value (at a position of need).  I didn't have him on my 2nd rd wish list though as I never thought he would have still been available - I actually had him as a 5th or 6th choice in the 1st.

I AM NOT HOLDING MY BREATH. Cleveland will run the ball down our throat. To date, we have had no answer for a solid running game. I doubt anything changes Sunday....

We’ve been good against RB actually. 40 percent of yardage we’ve given up has been to other positions running on us

I like Reagor. Thought we should have traded back for him. But we all knew Jefferson was fully developed to his full potential. It’s not about day one though. He looks good granted. So does Aiyuck who I like. Higgins also doing his thing. But don’t get caught in the early moment. First round pick. We needed outside speed. Reagor is just getting it going. He needed more development. We knew that. Doesn’t make him a bad choice. He was injured. But I’m not talking just about the first eight weeks of his career. Looking long term. And looking at our needs. We need the outside speed weapon. He’s going to deliver. Reagor is a beast...just wait!

I'm fine with "seeing what we have". I am not fine doing that with draft picks 1/2. They should be able to contribute right away. Welcome to the board Ray

JJ never would have made round 2. JJ is the number 1 rook as far as production goes. I knew we wouldn't get Ruggs. I would have been fine with Winfield in 2. The point I was making was that we can make better draft picks than the Eagles "pros". This year will be a little trickier, because I am not real good with Lineman or LB's, although I scout the top ones. There is another guy on here (Wrangler) that know his stuff. he wanted Gibson(team no name). All I heard was "speed kills". So why is JJ outperforming Reagor (well he's hurt) and Ruggs? "Oh he's just a slot guy" No he isn't,the Vikes use him like I wanted us to lol. Oh well,I hope Reagor does something on the back 1/2 of the year. Both Gladney and Winfield are contributing to their teams. Hurts is not. Like the player, hate the pick

We are ranked 26th in rush defense from what I have seen, does it matter who torches us?

Agreed, and I know you got your wish, and I also know you liked Aiyuk (who I had as a possible 2 if we missed on a 1) I also said I hoped Reagor pans out. You have to admit that what I said last year was true though. Reagor may contribute 4,5,6 times a game. JJ will give you 15. You were after speed, I was after a solid pass catcher. We also had Quez here and we just got Killins back. Both of those are as fast as Reagor, so why weren't those guys round 1/2 picks? Speed is an overrated benchmark for me, so that why we have an op difference. Ruggs also doing "ok" but he's not lighting it up in LV either. As you said Reagor will get better(he has to cause he hasn't played). By the same token, JJ will get better also. Now there is another WR from LSU I have my beedies on. Terrance Marshall. His teammate will go first, possibly the first WR taken and this kid is being overshadowed by him. Could be a terrific round 3 snag if he is a better option that taking a CB. Of course after the last draft,I am clueless as to how the brain engine machinery functions at the top level of the war room.Based on last year, we need a new engine lol. I was pushing for JJ in 1 and Aiyuk/ Gibson(Wrangs boy) in 2. I know it's hindsight, but "what if" we had done that?

I meant I had JJ as my second choice in round 1 (second to Ruggs/Jeudy/Lamb).

I too always thought the "he is just a slot guy” was a crock of ish.

You know, when I ran businesses and I needed something, of course I would talk to my mgrs. But you know what? Those were "opinions", so I use to go to the people who actually had their hands on the issues at hand. Those were the people that will tell you what you need to know(and how best to do it). I would make my decisions based on BOTH views. Just becuase the mgr was higher paid, doesn't mean he has the best ideas

OH gotcha lol(coffee hasn't kicked in yet). IDK at LSU they ran him wherever they needed him. I wanted that versatility and 1800 yards of production I could not overlook his senior year. My thoughts were "what if we got just 1/3 of that? 900 yards from a rook ain't terrible lol

I also think the league needs to make an asterisk and allow more Pro days and meetings this off season with guys that opted out. because it's difficult to buy sight unseen

Not new around here though. 😂

Wow think we like to overreact much lol... I like Jefferson liked Jefferson coming out supported Jefferson if we drafted him if he dominated the slot or outside didn’t matter to me just get the dominate player. But it’s year one lol.
Jefferson is having success in Minnesota great for him doesn’t mean he would have succeeded here like that they run a completely different O they have another stud WR that commands attention they use a ground game and play action.

Also seen plenty of guys start off strong and fade. Not saying that is going to be Jefferson but is a tale of caution before crowning a guy. Look at Jordan Matthews production wise was the 3rd best WR in his class first 2-3 years behind only Odell and Landry I believe where is he now.

Haha I hear that!  Funny enough I do remember several earlier versions of DraftTek’s mocks having us take JJ with our 2nd.  I thought no way he falls that far.

Haven't seen you on THIS board before lol. It's a bunch of old duffers who have been on the same small board

Noone is crowning anyone. JJ's production speaks for itself.I don't need to crown him, he's doing that on his own lol

Eagles have activated Seumalo and elevated Ostman.

I am looking forward to seeing what Ostman can do. Curry and Sweat each got 25 snaps against the Giants, and I expect Ostman will get about the same against the Browns. He should be better against the run than the pass, so he fits what we need this week.

The Eagles are facing some tough salary cap decisions, and almost all of them are on the dline. It would solve a ton of their problems if a guy like Ostman could prove to be a solid third or fourth guy, as they have a solid #1 in Graham and Sweat is a solid #2. Having a guy like Ostman be able to play snaps on run downs and be replaced by Avery on passing downs would give us a solid rotation, and save us a ton of money by allowing them to trade Barnett, who has significant value.

Been posting mocks and FA and draft prospect profiles for about 7-8 years on the EMB.

Fan of the team for over two decades now but on the EMB I concentrate predominantly on offseason stuff.

Philadelphia Eagles on Twitter: "Roster Moves: #Eagles have elevated RB Elijah Holyfield from the practice squad for #PHIvsCLE. Eagles have also elevated DT T.Y. McGill, DE Joe Ostman, and TE Caleb Wilson from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements. https://t.co/EpFz74RrJv" / Twitter

Holyfield getting called up, which probably means Huntley is inactive. I doubt he gets many snaps, but may get a chance on special teams. He and Wilson will probably get a lot of snaps there with Clement, James and Ford out.

I find that a little odd don't you? Huntley was on the 53 before so they obviously liked him enough at that point. If they haven't liked what they've seen from him in practice then ok fine just release him surely?

The third RB doesn't do much other than play ST, and Huntley doesn't offer anything there, so it makes sense to call up Holyfield and keep Huntley inactive. Holyfield is also an option in short yardage.

Huntley is more of a development guy who should compete for RB2 next year.
