Director of Player Development?
This job could be strictly on field related. Could have nothing to do with on the field development at all. I could go on and on…with guesses. I spare you all this. Barwin struck me as a man possessing many possible qualities. How he handled himself as a pro athlete. Nutrition, work ethic(body training and mental), his disposition(on and off the field)….saw him as a guy that really maxed out his potential as a pro athlete. Studied, lifted, eating habits, rest, focus, mentality, commitment….not saying he wasn’t blessed with amazing talent and size. Just gotta have that to possibly succeed in the NFL. But don’t think he was gifted near what many others that produced so much less.  He made himself into his best self. You could dog him and complain about that he wasn’t able to do certain things. But I’ve always believed he was just simply limited physically being the reasoning. Not because he partied too hard on game nights. Or that he didn’t do his film studies. Just wasn’t ever gifted with Chase Young abilities. Feel like he most likely has been a guy that was smart about his personal life as well. Handle his money fairly wisely. Stay out of likely trouble situations.
Actually funny to me that a guy like Barwin I’m highlighting how his work ethic and dedication was such a huge factor. That I’m speaking about a guy of his size, speed and agility as a limit and weakness. Really fast and agile guy for his very large size. In comparison to anything less than the top one percent of freak athletes in the world.

It was a LOT different in the 70's. Cops popped us having a kegger in the dunes south side of the airport, gave us the tap, shot the keg. Lived in Tinicum before center silly

Cops used to just bust our parties to steal our beer for their own get togethers.

Pretty embarrassing Kapernick never got another shot. My homeroom teacher was a marine, just like my dad, but I refused to stand for the pledge of allegiance due to nam. I supported the guys over there, just we shouldn't have been there at all or half assed. Got suspended.

Just sayin cause he sent a letter to the Jets, so did Wentz

I clearly have my own very unique individual views on so many things. But blackballing Kaep over his agenda by the league has been BS. The main reason being that he was so effective. Had a real and important issue he was STANDING for. The league let’s thug punk criminals with no morales compete endlessly instead.

So let's review...

A guy got benched in favor of Blaine Gabbert.....TWICE

Was considered in Miami... he wears a Castro shirt

Was considered in Baltimore.... calls Ray Lewis an Uncle Tom and his girlfriend makes similar comments

Was scheduled for a workout by the NFL, and then proceeded to cancel and have his own at a different facility.

This after refusing to take a backup job.

While I agree that a few organizations would not have touched him after kneeling... I believe he never got another job due to his behavior afterwards.

When 2 coaches prefer Blaine Gabbert, you need to be realistic about your job prospects and the role in which teams will hire you.

My issues with our country revolve around that we are just a puppet. All hiding behind this illusion of everything we are and do being fictional. I don’t believe in Democrat versus Republican BS. They have the sheeple all gobbling up. Either side still working for the same guys. Big oil, pharmaceutical industry, bankers….very select few running most the whole world. Our freedoms that many believe sets the USA apart? How many places on this planet have freedom at similar levels? I’d tell you more than dozens. But all of that is just an illusion. In a blink of an eye they can’t take it all away. COVID, 9/11….how long did it take them to eradicate all of these beliefs we’ve held so dear believing making us special…or in some kind of right?  Brainwashed through schooling taught histories according to their agenda. Not true realities factually about history. Are we even so much the good  guys of the world? Reasons most of the rest of the planet hates us. Sadly during my lifetime we’ve become some version of a World Police. Atrocities taking place all over the globe. We have all the tools to have stopped…or least acted on to do something about. But places that don’t have huge oil(or any selfishly valuable commodities) we do nothing about. Clearly they seem to be tapped into every form of information. They read, hear and can see it all happening…well before any of it actually even does. They’ve been clearly just choosing what they wish to interfere with. Warlords gearing up for the worst in Ethiopia? Not a peep to warn or stop. Not even anything to stop it. Such an easy situation for such a massive power that we are to eliminate. Not any high tech enemy that can hide from us knowing about gearing up to happen. Not some military strategic superiority that they utilize to skip by us seeing coming so massively in advance. The good guys would be motivated by stopping such needless disgusting human atrocities from occurring. Never why we’ve acted. Only applied as a justification for why we are getting involved anywhere around the world.
Why haven’t any countries been capable of developing and succeeding so much more in our entire hemisphere? Does anybody believe we haven’t played a very significant role in not allowing and Central or South American countries thrive? All logic points to how all these countries had such a massive level of security…at least since WW2. None faced any real threat of being invaded and taken over by any enemy. Logic would tell you that any country that was gifted such stability and security would have a huge advantage towards being a successful thriving nation. Great scenario to develop quickly into a world power even. If the biggest kid on the block wasn’t interfering to make sure it couldn’t happen. Was always in the USA interest to not allow. Completely made sure that almost nothing developed in the whole hemisphere to be even any small threat. Not even some small portion of anything that could be turned and used against us. So many countries. Given the biggest historical nations problem of security ….as a nonfactor. What is any logical reason to explain Central and South America not having a single nation to have not risen to become a world power? Doesn’t make any sense to believe the prevailing ‘story’ that it appears the masses of sheeple have willingly gobbled up.

I gotta admit right from the jump I can’t recall everything specifically that occurred with Kaep. I start with pointing out he never was the greatest player. Never had great completion percentage numbers. But I believe clearly possesses big time intangible traits. He’s a leader. Now you referring to a team choosing Gabbert over him? To me that’s a clear knock on any organization that made decisions to put Gabbert in any position to be that option. Not a good job as GM or coach choosing Gabbert. Thought always obvious. Hindsight it’s not even debatable. So I’m not seeing your Gabbert point similar to you. Cuban community around South Beach is a big deal. Don’t remember the Ray Lewis Uncle Tom comment. He’s a hero in that city. So not going there attacking their cities top athlete. My issue would be more about how he specifically went about it(believing you know what you’re are referring to about the Uncle Tom). I have issue with Ray Lewis based on his involvement with that murder. Some how he got out of his connection to that event. He really changed and took on a whole new appreciation for his gifted place in freedom and the world after surviving that massive swing of his life and legacy. Kaep ditching the league created workout to instead set up his own? He was right to have done that. League really targeted against him. He shouldn’t give them that opportunity. Obvious move by the league to use as a cover up. They could just say they did that special thing just to try and help him…instead of really thwarting his presence completely disrupting league business as a player. A weak self motivated gesture by the league say late after the real fact when it would have mattered.

Fine with this response. Too complex and serious a subject for many to contemplate. Life has plenty of difficulties and complications. Eagles football is great for  a distraction!

I completely agree. Waste of energy to even type point of view. I also agree with this

Again..   if you are beat out by Blaine Gabbert...  TWICE!     Obviously the." Intangibles" aren't there.    The " Intangibles" ie. Leadership is tour thought after he kneels.  Before that, Obviously it was an issue.   He relied on athleticism and not the work ethic.

But again.... you admit to not recalling stuff...so maybe you thinking these things are justified....for you.

Ray Lewis trying to get you a job in Baltimore... and you and your girl call him an Uncle Tom....not smart

The workout with the league ...not smart.    Because for a dude trying to get a job, showing some humility and showing he could be a backup....that's not the way to go about it.

If he liked football more than being a celebrity ...then Canada was an option, especially with his skill set.

You can't act above it all and entitled in the NFL.   Especially not as a backup QB. Those guys need to fly under the radar.

But I'm not surprised at your point of view...once you lock yourself on am agenda with an athlete...you seen to bury your head in the sand at what actually is happening and never seem to see how things change.

He messed up his own situation..losing the starting job 2 times in SF... under 2 coaches.  I believe your boy John Lynch was the GM as he left SF?

That was before kneeling....and a year after kneeling going forward... he messed up even worse.   It's his fault he hasn't played in the league...

But hey...he stayed away on his terms...good for him, brainwashing millions along the way

Yes it is...football is a great distraction...from having to read a novel about complaints of the world today.  They have political sites for that.

Go Birds!

To sum up.

2 party system not working, more than just 2 sides to everything and nobody in each party is 100% in agreement on every issue.

Obviously $$ controls things.

We could use better parenting.   And we could use people to not be manipulated by the media.

964 words shorter than the novel...but same message.

Probably a lot....but I think the point you are trying to make is the longevity of the players with the same team.

My guess is a ton of guys play 2 or 3 seasons for one team and then never again.

Lions look great

GB O line is awful or the Lions D line is killin it

Lol... an Eagles fan did a parody of Billy Joel' s " Piano Man"  making fun of Dallas..  " throw us a pick you're the interception man"   lol.

Not knowing the facts, I can still easily say…not many.

If we're talking 1-2 players having their career span with one team it'd be fairly common. But 4 players…yes, not many.

Actually a very good point. But we all get what he’s getting at.

GB needs a TD on this drive to make it interesting

It's a game now

AND,there's that pesky 30 PPG 😁

More fun game then

Yes. I have not watched a baseball game since the strike in 1982 or so at age 12. I loved Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton, Pete Rose, and my favorite player, Jim Rice.  But I couldn’t believe those **** wanted more millions catching a few balls each day and batting 4 times a day while my dad made $20,000/year raising a daughter and 3 boys. Now look at the money to all pro sports; its crazy! I love the Eagles and the NFL, so it is the only sport I watch at this point besides horseracing….my early career as a jockey and love of that sport keeps me there.
