I wasn’t happy the way the season started with Hurts being exposed way too much. Team needs to be capable of getting the job done without so much risk placed on Hurts. Can only go as far as he can take us. Rather lose and be the last playoff seed with a healthy Hurts than any other scenario la playing out where he isn’t.

We are signing Bradley Roby to a 2 year deal? Could be a good signing for us should help bolster the secondary

As good a move as could have expected to be made. Pumped that option was even a possibility.

My positive attempt at spinning the Maddox injury situation seems to have not materialized. The young CBs being figured out didn’t work out well. Feels like they gave the hook to Goodrich  being ready. Not even a nod towards him capably developing under fire. They instead pushed their cards all in on Jobe outside. I’ve liked what that kid has shown to be on the verge of stepping up to deliver. He’s been in pretty good coverage plenty while not being able to stop the completions. Was hopeful some experience would be enough for him to take that next step. That final drive and score he gave up? That was the kicker. Failed on that. The whole idea pushed Bradberry inside which wasn’t ideal also. So now all these young CBs will waste roster spots not proving or providing any real answers about their abilities.

Roby is a huge move. He’s a slot guy. What was needed. Gets Bradberry back outside. Makes the D much better. Easy for me to like and agree with making this happen. Only way to really be against this pickup is based on this season just not being worthy of spending additionally on. Not looking like a Championship team we have put together. So any extra spent just less for the future. But this season already looking like it’s a wiser investment than most teams we’ve put together over the years. How far to go ‘All In’ on this season?

Seen something that ATL should look into trading for Fields and honestly not the worst idea for either team.

Bears- they are going to likely have #1 pick he’ll might even have the top 2 picks they going to go for Caleb Williams(or they should the likely #1 overall pick) might as well sell fields for extra assets

ATL- they have the young core in place Pitts, London, Robinson and I do think a coach like Smith could help maximize Fields talents

QB won't matter if they don't have an O line. A rook would just be starting over again. But as Fields runs out his rookie contract I could see them doing what you suggest

#Cowboys Micah Parsons says the #Eagles 'Tush-Push' play is a "Cheat code" and defenses just have to deal with it.
With so much discussion around this play, it wouldn't be a surprise if the NFL takes a vote on this in the off-season.
• "The Eagles have the best offensive line in the game, so yes it's a cheat code, they're unstoppable at it, and they have a quarterback that squats 600."
"It's hard to say it's illegal for one team because of who they have, we just have to deal with it, we have to adjust, we have to be prepare to stop it."
"It's not up to the league to say, just because you can't stop it we have to take it away."

Quit f'in whining about it. Get yourself a top flight OL and a power squatting QB. Then you can do it too. Until then…suck it lol

The rookie deal is the huge part for the bears and why I could see them wanting to move Fields…. OL free up cap can always spend to get a quality OL not to mention the bears are likely to have two top 10 picks so easily could get the QB they want on top of a top OL prospect and the money they aren’t spending at QB can easily go to getting more OL for the rookie

Wise and obvious that Hurts just needs to avoid contact at most all costs. Nothing much that can justify him being worth taking a hit for. Bad timing I’d say on any attacks aimed at our QB1 however. He just threw some absolutely beautiful on the money passes this past game. Anybody coming at him now is just clearly a hater.

I think the hater tag is just overplayed it’s your go to line whenever anyone points out anything negative in hurts game…

Hurts not risking his body running is one thing for sure and I agree though also somewhat moot when we do the sheer number of designed QB runs that we do …..but the fact he is also one of the worst at throwing when outside the pocket is concerning when it is generally considered a strength of his throwing on the move.

Though I’m also not the type to solely place the blame on Hurts part of it is as the article states later that Hurts takes a lot of deep shots which is inherently less successful by nature but I also don’t think our WR/TEs do the best job in scramble drills to make an easy target for hurts to read when he is on the move. And yes some of it is just hurts missing people.

But again being able to look at the negatives isn’t a bad thing

My first reaction with seeing Roby....was the old Dolphins punter...lol

It makes sense though if we could get a dude like that....lol.   RIP to him... I remember him where a watch when he punted...." to measure hang time "  lol

Yeah just saying breaking in a new rookie puts you back to square one. They already spent on WR's and have nice RB's,so maybe they spend those 2 picks both on O line to give Fields a chance. It's kind of weird, this was supposed to be "the year" they started to get things together. IDK why Fields regressed from last year when they had little as far as weaponry. So will be interesting to see what they do

I think he has been throwing dimes the last 2 games.

But I can see how they calculate this " silly" stat.   He probably has the worst " successful" running %.  So many runs it looks like he is going to really take off..then he slides for a one yard gain.

Plus all his scrambles where instead of throwing it away, he gains a yard or two... really the correct play instead of not getting anything, but they probably still count it as a negative.

I think the last 2 games were way better than the 1st two.

Who cares 4-0 and he is getting better.  Plus we saw the one explosive run..instinct took over, he had to be explosive to escape...before he realized it, he was actually running full speed and gaining big yards.  So that is still there....but agree, no need for it now.

Stop the design QB runs...not helpful if he just decides to get 2 yards and slide. For me, I want him to be aggressive if he has a lane to run for 10-15 yards and can just go out of bounds.  It's two fold for me.  I don't want him hurt, but I don't want him only to get 2 yards either.  So his runs should be escaping outside,  full sprint to get as much as he can before going out of bounds untouched.  Still effective, but also safe.

In the pocket, nothing you can do of he takes hits there...that's the game.

They voted on it this off season and let it go

Lol...there was a Facebook post about the Giants running the tush push.  Apparently they never practiced it live...and they ran it last night and 2 of their guys got hurt....on top of not making it.

Apparently between college and the NFL....7 teams combined failed running this play.

In the words of Kirk Cousins....speaking to Peter King....." YOU LIKE THAT!"

LOL...this is great, the more teams that fail...the less of a case they have of banning it.  But we can't get guys hurt....that could be a legit excuse.  Come on New York... lol

I have noticed that this year they have been pushing Hurts more to the left.  That's great strategy.  He is less aggressive running that way, if he throws he will expose himself for a hit.

Also let's be honest, on off timing plays when his feet aren't set...he has a below average NFL arm... so rolling left it's working against him making that arm throw to a WR down field.

Again though.... it's 4 games in...clearly improving the last 2 games.  13 more to go... not time to panic. Especially with a dude that obviously puts in the work.

Really I think he has thrown the ball the best I've seen from him these last 2 games.  Purely throwing.  It's not really his natural strength as a QB....short  passes accuracy is his best attribute naturally.  So the improvement on the longer stuff is a great sign.

Isn't this kid coming out from USC supposed to be generational QB?

Why wouldn't you just draft him and not pay Fields.  Now you have a guy locked in on his rookie deal from the start, as opposed to having to pay Fields.  It seems kinda obvious what the move is??  That's right now though... more games left to play so anything can happen.  Maybe they start winning?

Hilarious! I thought the exact same thing. Shows our age Joe.

If you limit Hurts from playing his game because you're worried about him getting injured you won't have to worry about any win or go home games.

Don’t agree. Basic football knowledge to protect your QB. Some guys have proven more durable than others. But Hurts took a good amount of hits to start this season. Too many. Now playing his game is just too risky this time of year. He’s gotta not go that far. Get down. Live to fight another day instead of trying to battle it out to pick up each extra yard. He’s such a competitor it’s hard for him. You can see they’ve been preaching what I’m saying to him. I’d rather P than him taking on two or three guys to get to the sticks to convert.

Half the league makes the playoffs. If we are worried about not making the postseason then all this talk doesn’t matter anyway.

Hard to say exactly where the balance lies of acceptable amounts of risk for are QB in the regular season like this. I want him to take as minimal risk as possible while we pick up the win. But a loss isn’t the end of the world either. Don’t want him having to play like the SB during the regular season. Not until towards the end at least anyway. Cowboys games let it rip also.

I agree with forcing any QB to their weak side. Always tougher to get the body squared up and throw. Hurts probably more susceptible because he can’t just flip his wrist like Mike Vick tossing it 50 yards.

Pretty incredible to think about how we haven’t even been maximizing Goedert so far. He’s a heck of a weapon to have won every game so far barely utilizing him in the passing game.
