The QB run play sheet....leave it in the desk until December at the earliest.

We can just throw it away all together 😂…. If you want Hurts to have ability to run throw some read options in there sure when the DL crashes hard at the RB by all means hurts keep the ball get to the edge and get down.

I can live without watching a QB counter play think that we tried week 2 and couple of the other designed QB runs we have dialed up

Unfortunately I do believe this is Kelce's last yr.

This is a tough one not sure Kelce leaves if we don’t win it all…. If we win a SB I could see him hang them up but if we fall short I could see him coming back another year while the SB window is still open for us. At this point I see Kelce chasing one more ring

Could care less about Fields, more concerned about how to handle Donald and our secondary. Like the Roby signing even tho there's no immediate impact and I don't think it's that much better than what we have. More that we can put players back where they belong. This game is not a cakewalk. We've been blessed with an easy beginning schedule and getting by on BS.

No we will have a tough time vs the Rams. IDK if Kupp is back, but they have 2 nice WR's in Atwell and Nacua even without Kupp. We will have issues if we can't get the pass rush going. I didn't pencil this one in as a win. I have that as ...?????? The "show me" season begins now. Lots of tough games coming

IDK we have loot. Not sold on either of our RG options as of now. Swift still effective because he can juke

I want to smack the OC upside da haid and tell him he needs to get our TE's involved.(Yes I am biased). Still it's an unused weapon he is ignoring for the most part

Not if he slides after a yard because someone is near him.  I'd rather let the RB run for real.   I could never see a read option again and be content.  Give it to the RB or pass....run to avoid sack or if they give you a huge chunk of free yards.

That Washington game looked to me that Hurts was forcing AJ's way.

I want to tell him to keep running the ball when it works.  And we win that last game without OT.

But by far his best game.

Yes, he threw some really nice passes. I was impressed.

Don’t think Fields os the problem more coaching but the situation the bears are in just seems to make more sense to move him. But who knows what the bears end up doing

I’m not on the side of saying Fields is the problem. But he isn’t the answer either. That last game having a three TD lead and then he turns it over three times was brutal. The guy is an exciting player and can sell some tickets. Not seeing him as that Franchise guy that a coach looks to run his O. He can make the spectacular broken play into something. But having a three TD lead and then becoming a turnover machine….can’t be blamed on everything else but him. He’s not showing me signs of what I look for in a championship QB. He looks like the guy to bring in when your team has no QB or chance to really contend. A team lacking star power can monetize his highlight reel moments. He didn’t hit the guy on the easy timing slant.  But after he held the ball..boy did he escape pass rushers. Ran around thirty yards for a two yard gain. This all really kind of fits Chicago really well. City has plenty of money. He is the guy selling tickets and merch  for that franchise. He’s used to the cold and has a strong arm and legs to combat the wind.

Good fit as a backup Qb. His personality and style could be fairly ideal in a backup role. If somebody offers a good price would be wise to trade him very soon. But why not keep him and draft a top QB this next draft? I don’t see it as a horrible option. If he actually is The Guy? Then shouldn’t stop him from succeeding bringing in a rookie. Have to win that Franchise QB position by earning it. What’s wrong with that?

Bradberry getting back outside is the biggest selling point. But who is it you are seeing as up to Roby’s  play in the slot? Curious how all you are seeing things here. Are you real low on Roby? Or are you real high on one of the young bucks at CB?

I would just let the year play out and see how all the things unfold.

It's why I asked what year Fields is in.. if this is year 3, then he has trade value after the season.   If it was year 4, then they would lose him if they didn't already lock in the 5th year option.

Plus you need to see where the draft picks fall.

As of now, they own the first 2 picks.  Both Carolina and Chicago are 0-4...the only winless teams.

If it stays that way,  they get the QB without giving up extra assets.  Much easier than having to trade up for the pick, which could be way too expensive.

My assumption is any team bad enough to get 1st pick will ask for the moon since it would be passing up this QB.

If the Bears get  picks 4 and 6 or so....then it's 2 more picks to build around Fields. Compared to probably having to give both of those picks plus more to move up to #1.

Just to let you in on this intel: looking like several first round QB options are lining up for this next draft. Not thinking it’s even a first pick or bust QB drafting situation. Possibly six QBs going in the first round in 2024. Draft rankings are far from set in stone at this point. But hard to believe a team will consider trading the first pick USC QB. He’s so highly rated and such lofty expectations. Nobody is trading that first pick.

Imo Opeta is actually better than Jurgens at RG and will prolly get a salary boost in the OS as Jurgens moves to C. Unfortunately I do believe this is Kelce's last yr. Hey - if he wants another he gets it, just don't think it's happening esp after watching his special. Hate watching these guys go - Peters, now most of our old timers. Thought Peters would be back as OL coach - maybe Kelce? Still remember a lot of guys on this board sayin Kelce was too small!

Was trying to say we were fine at G. Opeta has proven he can handle the job. Stout has talked about his vice grips. If he gets a hold of you ….it’s over. Now we are going to visit Donald next game. So I’d expect him to look pretty darn bad this week. He’s not that good of a player. Be really interested to see Donald take on Dickerson some. Seeing it as a great growth lesson for either G to take on the best. Going to be humbling.

He was matched up against Payne. You’ve seen that guy play before right? He held his own. Payne signed for 90 mil for four years…if that helps tell you anything. Jurgens wasn’t looking great.

Agree ....I hate the playoff expansion.   Loved baseball when 4 division winners made it.... football when 5 out of the 14 teams in each conference made it....the switch to 32 teams and keeping 2 Wildcards was perfect.  12 out of 32... 3 out of 8 teams...that's a perfect ratio IMO.

I’m not really hating the new playoff setup. Just eliminated two teams having a playoff bye week. Really just a gain. Things can change in such the blink of an eye for teams. One injury can flip the whole setup on its head quickly.

So i would add..

1.  You don't pay your QB a quarter of a billion $$$ to hand off.   If we played Mahomes or any other top QB, you would prefer their teams to hand off as much to avoid the stud QB making plays.

2.  You pay your QB...you give him an OL to pass protect....and WRs to throw to.  You want to utilize his passing to win you games.  Trent Dilfer can hand off and win ... you don't pay that guy a quarter of a billion.

3.   I agree with not putting him in unnecessary danger.   Very simple... STOP CALLING DESIGNED QB RUNS...other than the sneak..

If he runs its to escape pressure or get an easy first down.   That's it.

Not much to balance...you run with RBs and keep running when it's  working.  You pass the ball like normal teams do with stud QBs.   And that's it.  He runs on his own ..to avoid danger,  not to invite it.

The QB run play sheet....leave it in the desk until December at the earliest.

The money doesn’t really change much of anything honestly. It’s mostly about he’s the guy the team needs in those big games to succeed. That’s what he needs to be saved or spared for mostly. I’m totally fine with Mahomes handing off to Pacheco. You just don’t see QBs getting banged up handing off to RBs much. It works. Our Oline is setup to crush opponents run blocking. Siri switching up playcalling forged the physical mentality the team rallied around. Let those big dawgs attack…instead of defend backwards. Beat up on their D some. Works for me. Obviously need to pass. Need to convert and extend drives while scoring TDs.

He was bishing before if you remember. Still we need every asset to contribute and he needs to know that.

Goedert is a great TE,if you USE him. Just a wasted asset to this point

The thing is... the object is to put up points.  Move the ball...etc.   you can't really worry about feeding everyone ...just to do it.   It has to make sense in the moment.

Last game they abandoned the run after AJ drew the PI.  3 awful plays and a FG in the red zone.   No runs...then a punt.    They finally run...have Washington down to one timeout... and they go for the TD on 2nd and 4???

Thst particular game...abandoning the run was the key mistake... multiple times.

How is the TE in SF doing?    SF wasting him... winning by 30 points each game???

Nah....making it as a 7 seed...  too much.... some bad playoff teams these last few years.

Do you feel the same with Mahomes?  Should Andy ..." save him"?

I'll ask...which QB prior to your man crush on Hurts.... did you feel this way.   To where their coaches...should " save them"

Let him play QB... and it absolutely does matter the $$$'.  You pay a guy because he helps you win.  For QBs...that means passing.
