I can’t challenge the 7 days in a week fact. I have no idea why that even exists. Who chose that number and why? All I know is there is never enough time…and the clock seems to always be against me. Plenty of the time I don’t even know the days date. This time of year each week to me revolves around how I accomplish everything else so it doesn’t get in my way of my Eagles game. Sunday? Thursday? Monday? Just know the answer is the same for each game placement. Monday night or Sunday day? Everything else will happen at a different time than when they’re playing. That’s my week.

Just so I’m thorough addressing every point you chose to make. I’ll challenge 7 days in a week. Why not 8? Why not 14? Really have no understanding of why it’s 7? So please educate me on why a week must be 7 days. Could be the only statement in this post you could possibly defend logically.

I actually can point out how it would be the way for a GM to not get fired. If you trade your starter and he thrives afterwards? That is reason you look bad and can be fired. If your first round pick doesn’t pan out? That’s reason to be fired. But think through the whole scenario more thoroughly. Who’s firing a GM if either QB turns out to be The Guy? You could knock him a bit for the other guy that doesn’t pan out. But don’t see getting fired as long as you found a franchise QB. But I’m not exclusively locking in the Bears at first pick really either. I’m more looking at the Bears taking a first round QB. They have two picks. Both picks, them and Panthers, are not good teams. So a high pick QB is what I’m referring to. But even number one overall I still don’t have any issue or feel any need to change my point. Why must you trade any QB just because he isn’t considered your starter? Would think us Eags fans would see value in backup QBs more than most.

I'll simplify....the GM would be fired.

Number one pick or sixth pick? Not sure I see much difference of it towards Fields. Draft pick could get injured at any point. Having Fields could keep the team winning enough to overcome that injury to still make the playoffs. Let’s face it…playoff Bears team is as far as any dream scenarios surrounding them can even imagine. Fields isn’t a Franchise QB. The way a GM gets fired is signing him like he is one. That’s about only way Bears GM loses his job for years. Only other way he gets fired is if the high pick draftee AND Fields stink and don’t pan out.

Right....so you already know Fields isn't a franchise QB...so you move on from him.   Draft the QB with #1 pick and surround him with the best roster you can using draft picks and cap space.  Fields in his last year doesn’t do much for you.  As he will be gone afterwards...keeping him as a backup for a rebuild vs trading him for a draft pick ... much better to get the draft assets.

Your goal in the rebuild shouldn't be  just the one year.

But make analysis like you were though?

I’ve seen the guy play enough. But surprised you wouldn’t understand my low interest in watching the bottom of the league square off.

It's ok...there was a fumble in February that you still haven't acknowledged was the QB's fault.  Everyone has a blindspot.

When the blind spot comes unblocked up the middle with the G blocking nobody that’s completely different. Surprised you don’t see the huge difference.

Nah...pretty good reasoning actually.   Use the cap space to build your team properly.

With good players I thought we at least agreed on

Again.... very simple....stop calling plays where Hurts running with the ball is the 1st or 2nd option.   No draws or read options.

The team that is most dependent on their QB is KC.    He makes their coach look good....and all the other ham and Eggers on that offense besides the TE.

Don't confuse the fact minshew sucked...for the fact that there are  pro bowlers all around our QB.

Buffalo would be another obvious one that relies more on their QB.

One pro bowler around a stud QB seems to be enough for those guys...imagine them having a stacked offense like Hurts. Wow!

Now you are slamming Diggs at WR?

Mahomes had The Cheetah. Mahomes has thrown to Kelce arguably the best TE ever. Poor guy stuck with the best all this time. But you see the difference a running game makes for them. Drafted early picks. Helaire. Hunt was there. Brought in FA. They kind of all busted. But AR has clearly shown how he understood what a running game would do to open things up. Pacheco was the counter punchy that sunk us.

I agree...it's why I don't comment like I'm an expert on what happens in the Bears game.

It would have been Fields fault though right?   Just like BG said?  8 months later still no acknowledgement of any Hurts mistake?

Mahomes the last 2 years had ham and egg WRs... stop please.  He's the best player in football....and the one guy who's team relies on the most...because he can't just had off for 250 yards rushing....or throw to all pro WRs.   He has to go off script plenty and make those 3rd down plays.

Because the team with the most cap doesn’t also need OL, D help, and more offensive weapons to surround a young QB????

I forgot QB is the only position in football you have to pay for

They draft the QB top pick. Have Fields backing up…with a chip to prove he’s actually the guy. Have another first round pick. Plus picking early in every round in the draft. AND have money for FA vet Oline addition.

How would one calculate how much a team is dependent on their QB?

Like would you take a team like KC who had over 5000 yards passing and only 1900 yards rushing... and compste to the Eagles who had a little over 4000 yards passing and 2500 yards rushing?

Obviously one could argue that KC needed the QB more because they couldn't just run the ball like the Eagles did.

The Minnesota game this year being the example,  you don't really see that from KC.

Do you look at 3rd down conversion where the QB has to make the play?

Idk...but I do know...if I truly believed that I has the best QB...I want the ball in his hands...making normal QB plays....and would look to eliminate plays where he is like a RB.

Our team couldn’t win against non playoff teams without Hurts while having a top backup in Shew. Clear defining of Hurts dependency. Can’t win without him. You act like the team is just so stacked that’s why everything was looking so good. If that’s the case then should have no problem crushing non contending teams without Hurts carrying the team. But in that KC game we couldn’t run the ball. It was all Hurts. Mahomes had Pacheco chip in big time to offset the tosses to Kelce. Occasionally to JuJu also.

15 seconds left the mic gets turned off.

I agree with BG....2 similar plays happen...  in Chicago it would be Fields fault....in Philly, you would blame the mayor or the D.A. before Hurts.   4 years, Hurts hasn't done anything wrong yet.... except take a hit.

I call it like I see it. I have faulted Hurts. Have pointed out short comings. But a G missing blocking anybody especially the blitzing LB that’s right at the line not even disguising he’s coming? That’s not a bad QB read. G had him to block and whiffed. Fields knew his play had him rolling out to the right after faking handing off. The outside defender on the right wasn’t going to be blocked. See the huge difference?

Dude...stop making it complicated.   The league sent this and that...doesn't matter....what matters is the hand placement... in the photos it seriously looks like it's Dickerson..even in videos.

Kelce needs to wear a different color glove....then it's done.

Why you make it a complicated conspiracy theory??    Nothing is ever simple for you....lol.

I’m doing the opposite of complicating it. Simplifying it real easy. League isn’t thrilled with our QB sneak play. Even sent us a note of a kind of warning. Kelce wearing different gloves does what for the NT offsides with his hand under the ball? That was the actual penalty. Refs calling it straight flag defensive neutral zone infraction. Clear as day. Kelce or Dickerson have nothing to do with the ref not flagging the actual penalty. See that?

Why would you be so clearly not looking at the obvious chance that it is a conspiracy? League taking some big media heat attention over The Brotherly Shove play. Many people have come straight out saying they want it banned. Then the league sends us a letter of warning about the play. So if you are just going by the rules and the technical actual warning? Then Dickerson is on alert to not cheat up on the play. It’s being watched. But he wasn’t offsides. They ignored the D offsides and flagged Dickerson anyway..

  • Author

Not sure how much clearer a signal you need from the league over this play? Warned us about it. Then flagged us on the play with no reasoning to actually penalize us for it. While actually having a reason to flag the opponent. They are sending a message.

  • Author

Not about accidentally missing the most obvious NT hand under the ball even. Not about Kelce glove. The league is flagging the play telling us it’s about to end.

Btw... Dickerson jumped way before the snap in OT....we got away with that one.  As Kelce says....just line up and snap the ball.

OMG...the league is watching....no kidding.  Lol

League we know is watching. But now they clearly are doing something about it. Action has been done. Letter of warning. Then clear flag for no reason other than on the play itself.

What's the conspiracy?   Do you believe the NFL has impact on her play list during concerts... or is it the illuminati?

What happens after the season with Fields?   Like if you are in rebuild mode...

Scenario 1... You played Fields and sat the QB from USC...  Now what?  Fields entering FA in year 5.  Do you tag him?  Do you let him walk for nothing?

Scenario 2....The USC QB played.... do you lose Fields for nothing...or do you tag him?

You see the problem here?   It's not a win now mode with the Bears.   They have legit assets ...top level assets.  They can't play the middle with those, they need to build something.

The Eagles went all in for Hurts and his offense.   They got a legit top WR... used picks and money on the OL...   even some consider Sanders a " special" RB.

Chicago needs to build a team... they need to use those assets.  Make a commitment to a QB direction and put a team around him.   If that guys fails, then move on.
