Huge factor in having what I label: The Contending Window. Need to develop these DBs. Can’t afford to be thinking about spending on FA. Really be a huge lift to not be forced to draft high at DB.

To add insult to injury - the Jets did not take out insurance on AR so will not recoup anything

They really should re-do the "inside the 20" .I would be more interested in "inside the 10" because the 20 really isn't going to affect anything much. Inside the 5 or out of bounds at the 5 would be even better. That would really separate the listing above. Inside the 20 is nothing special IMO. Of course that all depends on WHERE you are kicking from

Idk... really unless the ball is on the 1 or 2 yard line where there is a shot for a safety.... to me it doesn't matter much anymore.... it's not the same game where coaches " play for field position"

It's looked at as a possession now... did you score on that possession or not?    Really I just want my punter to have 2 punts... and not shank or fumble.

If you look at our offense... other than slot and RG... we pretty much have all pro talent at 9 positions.    We get the ball, I'm looking to score each time.

At any rate we are stuck with who we have unless someone better comes along,so get used to it. They may even call Siposs back if this guy stinks

Right.... us....along with a bunch of other teams ...are stuck " UNTIL SOMEONE BETTER COMES ALONG"     why is it difficult to comprehend the very strong possibility that for all these teams ...there hasn't been " someone better to come along"?

It doesn't matter if we are a contender...if we have a billion dollars in cap space..... if there is nobody available,  you can't manufacture a punter out of nowhere...even with a Hurts as our GM

Like every other team found a better guy…some how

So why not the 32nd ranking?   And why only 4 feet difference between the next 15 punters?

Frank Clark being released stinks for us. Was thinking trading Fletch could arguably be one of our best wisest assets here come the deadline. But you’d just pick up Clark at this moment. Can maybe read some tea leaves on which teams show interest in bringing in Clark. Teams that lose out on him could be ideal trade partners for us. Well…you know…the crappy teams…that is….the ones willing to sell.

Why would you trade Cox?

You’re still missing the key ingredient you often overlook here: coaches. I’d easily make the educated assumption that our O could have been much better under higher tutelage.

32nd guy is the guy ST coach also picked out. The guy we cut. But he at least is a backup K. Rather have that feature if choosing between bad P is the only options. He’s also just a rookie. So easily could believe he’s on a quick path towards improving and developing under …a quality ST coach.

The money actually would have kept us out of this whole situation…you seem to have missed here. Remember now…we lost our P getting paid…not very much even…to another team. That’s what started the whole Syposs debacle to begin with.

Arguably our best trade chip right now

Who is a better trade option we possess?

  • Author

Barnett wants to be trade. But can only see like 6th round pick in return. More valuable to us this season than just giving him away for no real reason. Run defending DE and can move inside. Experienced. Not thinking anybody here really likes Barnett. But he does have considerable value along our Dline rotation.

Trading Fletch would also open a bit of cap. Could be useful..especially if he’s traded for a player deserving of substantial pay.

Well anything that causes them to have to make more plays. As you said some teams it may not bother. We can grind out a long drive. other teams can't seem to do that. Why I like the RBBC and having rotational depth pieces. Teams without those things can get gassed even on OFFENSE, I mean you can't run Derrick Henry 35 snaps a game. Even he would be gassed. So although punting to the 20 is not a big deal for me personally, inside the 10 would be a guy I would like to have. Make them work for every foot.Safeties are great, but if you have a defense and can stop the first 2 plays inside the 10-12, and force them to throw, you can get an easy pick 6 without having to run 85 yards

OSU game on peacock only,Now even college games will become PPV.This really SUCKS. I'm not turning on the steam site,I know they are up 13-0 on Purdue

Right they are the 2nd lowest paid(as a group) behind the LS. I noted on the post I put up,the highest paid guys are not atop the list LOL. Most positions have improved greatly coming out of college, yet punter seems to be going the wrong way. I do disagree with you on 1 point. It's still a game of field position and a good punter can flip that to your advantage, but as you stated, there isn't anyone out there. IDK whatever happened to punt god. As far as I know he is still out there

And that was after meeting all his demands about bringing in specific players he wanted. He took them good LOL

I would not, probably his last year. He's playing well. He will end his career when he is ready and he should end his career as an Eagle. I believe we owe him that as long as he is doing his job

The O that scored 35 points with the QB fumbling untouched...in their only meaningful loss in 2 years?

What else you need from the O coaches for more success?

Guy we cut was 26th

For a guy who talked about intangibles when the QB couldn't see the ocean or throw it in there the first year and a half...

How do you want to get rid of Cox and his leadership right now?  Not to mention he is playing extremely well.

" the contending window" why would you trade away who brings all this while we are within that window?

Your inconsistent ideas that come from left field are hilarious.   Let’s get rid of Kelce,  Lane and Graham too... lol

If there is a position in football where depth and rotation matters to keep guys fresh and playing at a high level...  DT is the obvious one.  To weaken that and get rid of a long time franchise leader ...while he is playing well... to save a couple mil....when next year you are well under the cap??

I can't come up with enough insulting adjectives to describe how bad of a move that is.   For a contending team that has culture as a priority.

Anyone here want to trade Fletcher Cox ...exactly at this point???

Playing and leading well... 40% of the price of Hargrave.
