If there was ANY reason AT ALL to play Hurts,it was today. In the rain and slop he is more mobile, and really what did we have to lose. Why the hell did we waste a 2 pick on him with no intention of playing him? This was the perfect day to stick him in mid 3rd, but NAH to hell with that

They didn't bench him during the Cowboys slop fest. They haven't considered benching him despite an awful year. They aren't going to bench him even though they should and so they all deserve to lose their jobs for that alone.

I hate to think this is it for Doug but seems Like he lost the team and once that happens not much else you can do.

To be fair I don’t feel like Doug as the real control of his staff and roster he should either

I will repeat. And say what you want IDC. I would put this board's draft picks up against the Eagles staff ANY day.  And now, I can say I would put this boards ideas and thoughts up against  the Eagles staff and I bet we would do better  by a nice margin (and I don't bet to lose). Luire will have some soul searching to do tonight

Agreed. Either Ped is "too nice" or he is being told what to do. In either case it's a fail. Just a BOATLOAD of wasted money. Besides Hurts we have been holding onto Suds, who also doesn't play a snap. Why are we paying guys?????

There are some holdouts (I will hold on too long as usual), but after this, they are losing the fan base. I can see it everywhere on posts and it's not a one game gripe, the fans are leaving en masse (can't blame them)

So,as I said, there is talk of Duce leaving us for a HC job. I would offer him the OC job TONIGHT. if Ped lasts the year out,we have our new HC already in place. If we lost Duce, IDK what this team would do. I would be interested to hear from Joemas as to what the locals are saying

The fans are angry and rightly so. This team is bad but if listening to the coaches you'd think this team isn't far away. A bad team is one thing but when the fans are being lied to that's just a recipe for disaster.

IDK if they are being lied to, at this point it doesn't matter. Even regular fans (not just the board junkies) can see a loser a mile away. It's now like the CHIP era, where it's same plays over and over, no fire, no thought process, no adjustments, and although the rooks and PS players try hard, there is noone leading them. Ped isn't, Wentz isn't and those are the 2 guys that MUST lead. Apologies to the fans are no longer accepted as of today

Lied to may not be the right term. But I mean Carson goes up there and defends what he's done on the field? Doug defends the QB? I don't want to hear this ish. This is a bad team that's not going to get better because it lacks the ability and discipline to do so. Stop telling us the players are angry, that means nothing if they serve up the same garbage every week.

Yeah like I said the apologies ran out today.; The fans are turning their backs on this team. This is now on Luries shoulders. If he does nothing, then I will lose respect for him as an owner. IDC if we get beat by a better team, but when we give games away and play 15 minutes (scattered throughout the game) then there is nothing left. Wentz was the guy we were supposed to build a future around. Right now that is out the window

And that's my issue. Today that was a closer game than the scoreline showed with a few minutes to go. Had Doug of made the call to go with Hurts then who knows. Sure maybe it would have had no effect, maybe Hurts would have sucked too. But what I can't accept is that they were unwilling to try. I can accept not being a good team but I can't accept really stupid bone headed decisions.

Yeah,I agree with Trini. Let the KIDS play. At least they will try and the more snaps they get the better. This season is already shot. If we win the division, I would like the kids to earn that.At least it's something to build off of. I was ranting about Mailata at LOT long ago. "put him there and leave him there". let Dillard try to take his job later, or Dillard at LOG who could pop over if Mailata goes down. Kelce may retire after this bogus season and I wouldn't blame him. So really we are looking at C, ROG, ROT. Like lane, but once again,we can't win if he is in the blue tent. I thought we had a few strengths (we all know the weaknesses). But today what were supposed to be the few strengths we had were also exposed as BS. It's also apparent we do NOT need Ertz. The 2 young TE"s were the only bright spot for me

To add insult to injury I get to watch an afternoon of Jefferson and Lamb playing.

UGH thanks for the reminder lol

O is playing solid? Are we watching the same game?

At the time of this post yes the O was playing solid in terms of moving the ball. Did mention the turnovers as killers

As with ANY team losing, the most popular guy on the team is the BACKUP QB. Hurts isnt playing because he either isn't good enough or he is not learning the offense well enough. This team has a lot more issues than Wentz, but you would expect your $111 million QB to NOT be an issue causing you to lose. That has not been the case. It certainly is not all on Wentz, but his "football IQ” seems to be on on hiatus. I just don’t get what he is thinking this year. Now, it also seems to me that the coaches need to invent some plays to get guys open. If these guys cant get open, get some new guys. What a frustrating season. I will keep watching, but clearly have minimal expectations at this point.

It is ok that we disagree.

FWIW,that last drive is what I said we needed to do all game, right side short passes to the right of the RT. Scott/Reagor both caught passes over there. But can't do it with 5 mins TG,should have been doing this all game(and running the ball)

Game was over at that point. Browns defense would give up those short passes all drive long. That is smart defense in that scenario. If the score were closer, they would NOT have given those up. No way.

It’s fine but considering the game the weather and this post was at the half. We ran the ball well we had some big plays what you want in a game like that....

The issues again as I stated was the turnovers, Sanders fumble in the RZ, Wentz getting blown up for the pick 6.

Now if I’m looking at the whole game in hindsight yea we were terrible but that what hindsight gives you that ability

Either way this division is pathetic 1 game likely wins it for us 2 locks it in my eyes.

I hope the Giants pull out the East at this point rather have the high pick... If we win the division we have pick 19 at best

The sad and unmistakable truth is that, even with average QB play, this team has at least four more wins. Wentz lost us the last two games, plus the ones against Washington and Cincy. This team should be 7-3, and realistically has the talent to have that record. The defense isn't great, but it is playing well enough to beat bad teams, like today and last week.

But we are getting bottom five qb play right now, and the team isn't talented enough to overcome it.

The oline wasn't great today, but the notion that we can run block effectively but not pass block is ridiculous. Wentz is holding the ball too long, missing wide open receivers and just generally making the line look worse than it is. He certainly didn't get any less time the last two weeks than Jones or Mayfield, he just got outplayed by them.

The tape is clear. Fulgham, Reagor, Goedert, Rodgers and Ward get open consistently. Wentz just misses them. Last year our running backs were unstoppable out of the backfield. This year Wentz can't throw a five-yard checkdown. Sanders didn't suddenly forget how to run a wheel route.

The problem is that I don't know how it gets fixed. You realistically can't bench Wentz. But unless he magically starts playing better, we aren't going to win any football games. And my fear is that we are going to keep wasting draft picks on offense to fix problems we don't have, when the reality is that we have to fix the problem we do have.

Our OL was dreadful like really dreadful today... I’m the first to say Wentz holds the ball to long and fault him for a ton of sacks but most the sacks I seen from the browns today he didn’t even get a chance to set

You bench Wentz yes we are paying him a get that but something is seriously wrong with him his confidence is shaken he is not trusting himself or the players around him idk what some bench him maybe that ruins him maybe it helps get his head out his ass....

Honestly at this stage again I’m looking at 09 ravens game benched Mcnabb for Kolb... Kolb was terrible but the benching help Mcnabb get back on track. Not sure it works for Wentz but if he comes out struggling vs Seattle(terrible D) and lays a goose egg at the half I’m switching my QBs

We pressured Mayfield as much as they pressured Wentz. The difference is that Mayfield had better picket awareness and delivered the ball accurately and decisively. He had worse receivers than us, yet he made them look better. The last two weeks, if we swapped QBs, we win in blowouts.
