As it stands…to retain him a second season his contract hits us up for 14 mil. But I explained for us it’s 18 over the rest of this season and next season.

But it's not a " have to" ... no shot the Eagles would eat that $14 mil in one year

Because your " alternative paths"  never use concrete examples...just theory.

It's why you don't get contracts.   It's not the " alternative lifestyle "

I am the one that gets plenty about contracts. You have good understanding of contracts. But you have no vision of doing things any other way. But there are actually many ways the contracts can be written. I’ve used hundreds of concrete examples. You can’t comprehend any alternate path being a choice however.

I’m not completely sure all the rules Fl governing a contract that already has been restructured..or if you can just convert the last year roster money into mostly signing bonus not adding to the contract to make it new.

What is your way....you don't ever explain using a number spend 20 seconds writing the number and it saves less time.

Im convinced you just like reading your own posts...that say nothing...to make yourself feel smart

What are you saying the numbers should look like?  Very easy question

Whatever you say. I just was trying to weed through all his signing bonus and restructure bonus money separating what they’d owe him versus us. Cap and pay are different I’ll note.

The Eagles are a new team. They can restructure however they please...any restrictions would be only for Tennessee

And begin ...go ahead now that it's been cleared up

See ....this is why I don't see this trade...why would Tennessee eat the dead money???

They redid the contract to save $8.35 mil....now they trade him to add $9.35 mil?

Idk...I guess it costs 1 mil to get him off the books...and they get a pick too.

Salary for 2023....is 4 million.

If we trade for him now... they pay 6 weeks...we pay 12..... we pay 2.666 mil for this year.

Then next year.... combine the roster bonuses plus the salary...$14.1 mil is the dummy number showing... if nothing was done.

Would cost $16.766 mil for the rest of this year plus next.

Idk....just seems like the Eagles would look to redo the deal.

We have Jalen Hurts as asst. GM in charge of recruiting.... I'm sure that could get a discount.  Especially for a duds stuck in Tennessee for his whole career.

Looking forward to this game. A real test for both teams. Evenly matched. We need to keep mistakes/penalties to a minimum(not that there is a good time for those) I suspect they flair Mostert out like we probably will with Swift. Both teams are weak in the middle. Both teams can drop the big bomb. It's going to be a great game,a war so to speak. Trench warfare wins this game although I suspect alot of offensive fireworks. Whichever team can run the ball effectively will win. They only have 2  healthy RB's. Maybe they will wear Mostert out and I hope we use the triple threat(Swift,Gains,Scott) to avoid the same. Both teams face running QB's so a spy should be in use if we can manage that. Pass rush is also crucial as it is every game. Goedert can be a difference maker and I hope we use him extensively(no I don't have him in fantasy lol) Tyreek will be a huge issue for us. O line needs to be sharp and effective. Let's do this

We finally had a decent Thursday night game!    Good outcome for the 2nd round pick moving up to #43.

Dolphins (5-1) at Eagles (5-1)

8:20 p.m. ET | NBC | Spread: PHI -1.5 (51.5)

Storyline to watch: Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts, former teammates and competitors in the Alabama quarterback room, square off for the first time at the professional level. This matchup will also feature the NFL's top two rushing teams (Miami: 181.8 ypg; Philadelphia: 150). -- Tim McManus

Let's hope that trend continues. The early round 2 picks can yield round 1 talent(value). The Saints are the gift that keeps on giving(for now)

BTW Miami has a 4 game drought with no turnovers and we turned it over 4 times last week, I doubt we can afford any turnovers at all. I hope Hurts doesn't make more bonehead mistakes

Gotta love those Saints. Jenkins,  Sproles, the nickle CB from the Superbowl,  CGJ....that awesome trade... they love us...lol.

IDK,I hope I am wrong, but after Hurts got the big loot his play has gone down the tubes

Easy games are over, now he needs to earn that loot. The BS needs to stop, starting right now

How far up can that go? Is it possible to get a late 1 out of them?

I looked at their schedule, pretty easy games for them unfortunately for us

Sure, can go up to pick 64 if they win the SB.   Pick 50 is the last pick that would miss the playoffs.  18th pick round 2.

I picked their defense in 5 leagues because of their easy schedule.  Jax too.

Hmmmm - Denver at 1-5 obviously not going anywhere. Surtain's contract very cheap and he's only 23.

Saw something that alluded to us calling Allen up to the 53 but haven't seen anything actually making that official. He only has 1 left. I really want to see him succeed with us, unlike letting Mostert go who I also liked.
