Panthers signed OL Brett Toth from the Eagles' practice squad to their active roster - ;iked him as a b/u

Wasn't that Ham's guy from camp that was the reason our guys weren't getting in reps because of 25 bad snap per practice?

Like Penny?

Must be a reason we're not using Penny. Need the guy we can run up the gut on 3rd and 3 as part of the rotation.

So regarding cap space.   Our $3.03 mil that OTC is showing right now.

If we add a RB as you say... only the remaining salary would count for us.   Already 7/18ths of the season over, so almost half of an entire season's salary wouldn't count.

On top of that, we need to release a player..  which would mean salary coming off the books.

If you look at it, salary cap space isn't a factor.  Are you looking for a current player that is on a roster that makes $6 mil salary???   That guy would have to fit... with a reworking of the " salary"   who is out there at that level that's a " bruising " RB?

Really difficult to find any bruising RB.  It's like what I'm trying to say with punters.   I agree with a need... it's a need for a lot of teams.  But there just may not be players out there that are available?

If memory serves me right, yes.

Who the heck looks for FB's anymore? Only a few teams have one so there must be a few available was my thinking. Maybe Penny will remain on board as insurance against injury or as the pundits are saying get traded. Sequan doesn't want to be traded but it may be he wants to stay in the area. It may interest him to extend his career as part of a rotation - who knows? Derek Watt also comes to mind

Looks like we might have the entire defense ready for Sunday

Healthy the wuss OL has allowed 40 sacks. Now both starting guards are on their injury report. Hoping we can get a hefty lead then rest some starters, maybe even get one of the b/u QB's some reps.

Dabold supposedly told Sequan he won't be traded. Tough promise to make, it's a business, there's often a big difference between what's said and reality.

There isn't a " neutral zone" for anything else.    It's  simple comcept....you stay on your side of the ball, we stay on ours.

" neutral " meaning doesn't belong to anyone.  Not a difficult concept to grasp. ... neither team can occupy that neutral zone.

You said there wasn't a neutral zone, then said you can't occupy it,so there must be one. The nose of the ball is where the line is(or should be). everything behind the nose should be on the side of the offense(because is IS) Not a hard concept to grasp

If the football had a line down the center... and they used that to measure a 1st down. ..it would still be the same 10 yards.   Doesn't matter what part of the ball is used as long as it's the same part from the start to finish.

If there was a line on the ball 1/2 way then it WOULD be offsides if your hand was beyond that line. The imaginary line is the NOSE of the ball as you stated, therefore you can't be offside unless your hand is beyond the nose of the ball

I don't get this either. Maybe he got married and became useless 🤣

Nope, most come out around 210-215 and those are the "big " backs. Lots of small guys making an impact now

He is basically their offense. Although Tyrod>Jones in my view. The team plays for Tyrod. They are playing much better(even the defense now) after Tyrod took the reins. I never did like Daniel Jones

For a TD, only the nose needs to break the plain....again, part of the neutral zone cannot be on the field

right,so the balance of the ball is still on the offensive side

What happens if a player is tackled in  their own end zone....and half the ball  is still in the end zone?

It's  safety....because the entire ball needs to come out.   It's a consistent rule.   The neutral zone would have to completely be outside the end zone,  the entire ball needs to be on the field of play.

Right because the ball was reversed by the offense(due to the defense),so the TIP/NOSE needs to come OUT as the offense controls the ball until the tackle is made

Anyway, nothing will change, but it's still inconsistent,so now I am moving on. As 58 said, the Wuss always play us tough for some reason. I hope we don't take the day off

It's consistent....you just refuse to understand the concept of a space in between where NEITHER team is allowed to line up.

In college and the rough touch leagues we played in...the ref had a marker that he placed a yard past the ball... to where the defense wasn't allowed to cross until the snap.   Was a yard of a neutral area ...or zone...neither team could line up in.

Regular football has a neutral zone which is simply the length of the ball....nobody can line up there.  Not a difficult concept.  Your area....then nobody's area....then my area.

If it's just the " tip or nose" of the ball,  then technically you can have your OL and DL practically touching... which is not what they want. It's why they have the neutral area in between.

Have a god fantasy team, unfortunately I have 3 hurt QB;s lol,so guess who starts for me this week? Shew the :stasche:I only need 14-15 from him and I should still win

Right,as I said, everything changes when the ball is at rest and once again that is not consistent with every other ball measurement they use in every other facet of the game, but like I said,it's not changing,so I am moving on

There is only a neutral zone at the snap... it's not the same concept as " measuring 10 yards"

There is no neutral area when measuring because it's only one direction.   At the start of the play there are 2 sides....each team must stay on their side of the ball...not difficult.  The ball belongs to neither team.

The rules are the rules and they're subject to change. Will stick to the thought that full time refs would certainly help with how those rules are applied. They'd sit in classrooms, be given homework, watch a lot of tape and get graded, so when it comes to game time, they're better prepared on when and how to apply those rules.
