Hurts brushed off his ability to play through injuries, saying he'll do whatever his club needs to come out with a win.

"I don't like it being that way," he said of dealing with injuries. "I love to be all good, but, as I said, I'd do anything for this city and for my teammates. It takes what it takes, and that's simply put. Whatever it takes, and I'm just happy that we were able to gut out this win and we showed so much resilience."

He talked about how the bye week couldn’t have come at a better time.

Ricks, Brown and Nolan Smith all underwhelming performances ( esp Ricks ) albeit vs some good players. Ricks seemed to get frustrated cause he was blowin it and dak was targeting whoever he was covering - usually Cee Dee. They all need reps. Still a wonder we won w/ this secondary not playing cohesively. Carter  did well vs the run, not so much in his pass coverage, imagine he still has the back prob. Nice time to get everyone healthy.

Goedert should be back for the playoffs. Don't know about this so called "cushion" we have as other teams already had their bye's and we're running into a gauntlet we have a good shot at coming thru in a nice position.

Losing Geodart is a pretty massive blow he is the only complete TE we have on the roster… Stoll is a decent blocker but not a real receiving threat and not sure we even have that receiving threat on the roster. Kid from Denver hopefully steps up.

Ground game looked awful don’t understand why we don’t just ride the hot hand… Swift was not getting it done. Would have liked to seen us give Penny some extra carries hell Gainwell as well they were just finding more success though in far less sample

Penny/Gainwell in there 5 combined carries had 30 yards Swift got us 43 yards in 18 carries…. So 13 extra carries flr 13 extra yards mmmmm

Steen actually helped open the alley for Gainwells' TD, Kelce pulled, opened right up

I don't like Swift getting volume... he needs to be the change of pace guy. The guy with the big play potential.

So what are we at not... 30 carries for 80 -90 yards the last 2 weeks?   That's a huge chunk of plays.  Give some to the 3rd RB.  23 carries...Swift should get half at the most.

I'm ok with Gainwell staying around 5-7 touches, he brings value with his blocking.  3 carries, 3 catches That's fine.   The 3rd RB needs to be rushing more 7-10 times.  Then you keep Swift fresh because you can use him any down.

With Goedert out, I expect more 2 RB sets.

All part of the self scouting that is going to be done.   That's why this bye is huge....health and the coaches regrouping.

Don't understand why so few carries? Gainwell scored twice the last few games, catches well

Great video of Howie on the sideline on the last play... Google it if you can...saw 2 angles....absolutely fantastic.

Like a Two Headed Monster backfield with Gainwell adding to

Swift was averaging just over 3 yds/carry, Gainwell over 7 on short # reps, so don't know why Swift gets so many more. Swift can jitterbug, hasn't really broken one in a while. Imo it's really whether the OL opens the alley

No monster... committee of 3 guys sharing the load to stay fresh.  That 3rd guy needs to take some of the grunt rushing plays , so Swift and Gainwell can stay fresh and work the other parts of the game.

It’s to late now but I think Zach Moss could have made a great addition to our backfield.

Which is what RBBC is supposed to be. It concerns me when a team depends too much on 1 RB or WR. Injuries happen, players leave etc, then that team has to scramble somehow to uphold that room. RB or WR by committee should prevent a great drop off in that area.

I like 93's "hot hand". You can't just pick guys and say "ok you're getting 12 carries, you're getting 8,you're getting 6" Early on Swift was tearing up defenses(easy ones to run on). Like WR's Some games AJ will rule (and has) Another game maybe Smith gets open. I would put each one in for a series and see whom does the best vs that particular defense. IF Swift is killing it,he doesn't need to come out. If Gains is,then Swift will have to settle for less touches that game, but agree we shouldn't try to force it to one. Swift had a bigger workload in Detroit so I'm not worried about wearing him out. If he is running amok in a game, then let him(not that we can't spell him once in awhile) but am against a pre determined amount of touches.I would also opt to use Penney more and early on to wear out opposing defensive lines. Isn't that why we got him,or if not WHY did we run out and get him? He was nasty in Seattle. So I hope this bye will be a time to review vids and make adjustments for the tough stretch. not just players getting rested, the staff should be full tilt figuring our where our running game disappeared to. Swift can also be extremely effective in the passing game, but not seeing that either. WHY???

I thought Steen did very well for RG 3. he will only get better(if we let him play some)

We're going to need a more consistent running game as the cold weather sets in. Perhaps we're "saving" Penny for that. We need to do better on down's 1,2. We seem to be able to convert 3rd and 7's(by getting 6 and using the tush push and for the life of me IDK why when you need 7 yards, do you run 6 yard routes, try running 8,but I would rather not have to do that-this really bugs me) I understand it's a passing league, but we need to get the running game going better.Simple stuff like running 8 yards and not 6 when you need 7,is easy stuff they can do. It's not that tough. Seems like an easy obvious adjustment. Actually this is camp stuff, not something that should need adjusting

Well we have 3 RB's that are basically clones of one another. There is no beefcake, basher back like when we had(and used) Ajayi. That's why I assumed we got Penny?
