You repeat the same things every year and every year Howie puts together a strong roster lol… You would think by.l now you would realize Howie pretty good at Manipulating the cap.

And the position we don’t invest in are the positions we never invest in like LB

Actually think it all played out pretty much like I expected. Wasn’t just in hindsight upset about falling off after 2017. Was an obvious result of the cap management. Still is.

This is literally every team in the league and the ones that overcome these cycles are the ones with top QBs that mask the flaws on the rosters

look at KC they aren’t in some great cap space you don’t think they don’t want better WRs???

SF is looking solid right now no CBs and no draft picks how do we think they will look in 3 years???

Niners lost SB 2019. NFC Champ game 2021 and 2022. Improved the team last year and this year. That’s a solid Championship contending window…since 2019. While improving and adding key weapons to their team the last two years. So yeah…can’t keep a window open for ever. But practically the exact opposite

Your opinion can be they are over paid. But it’s what’s known as The Market. Market value. These players getting their money in their bank accounts and how it comes off our team’s cap are very separate things. Main correlation being that all that money going in their bank does come out of the salary cap…somewhere. So bragging about the largest mega contract we’ve ever signed not being paid for on any near or past cap? I don’t see the same as you. Not something I look at with my chest out making me feel all warm and fuzzy. I see it as all being roadblocks to overcome ahead. The fact we have so much future cap money spent on play of yesterday and today is a hinderance. That fact along with knowing how the contracts already have been leveraged heavily to avoid paying that piper yet not brag worthy situation to me.
See even with Rosie signing excellent bargain contracts on Reddick and Sweat aren’t all smelling so Rosie. Because those guys both I guarantee are chomping at getting raises. Have to look into their contracts more thoroughly but seems highly likely neither guy is suiting up for us next season under these conditions.

Do you even look at websites that deal with cap space and contracts or do you just make things up in your mind?  You have any idea of what out cap looks like going forward?

The more posts you make about money , the more I believe you just do zero research on anything.

Sweat has that option for next season. So his is more tricky to thoroughly understand all options. But clearly looks like his contract is massively backloaded. 2 mil bonus for back to back 7 sack seasons. Not sure that’s been factored in on this years cap hit toll yet even.

Yes..for you it is tricky... you understand contracts about as much as I do college football.

Here is an idea...let's root against our players having success ..this way we won't have to pay them.  🙄

Javon Hargrave ($11.96 million), Brandon Brooks ($9.80 million) and Isaac Seumalo ($7.53 million) are the Dead Cap hits this season amongst others. When was the last time Brooks even helped this team? Just take these numbers and situations and apply them to everything going forward.

Or just remember recent history of this Rosie cap/contract cycle. 2016 putting things together while opening up the spending spree to come the next season. 2017 SB fantastic team winning it all under the backup QB. Then 2018 contending team. But not favored. One that needed some good luck to have a shot to repeat. Made an excellent run at it that year. Arguably overachieved. But Alshon bobbled dropped catch turning interception derailed what could have been. 2019 total dropoff in the roster level. Snuck in the backdoor  to make the postseason. Should have been victorious for one playoff win over the Clowney Seachickens. But wasn’t a contending team. Then 2020 Rock Bottom. Even with Rosie investing hard in that crap low potential team.
2021 eerily identical to 2016. Except Hurts carried the team to the postseason. Huge accomplishment and valuable experience to the almost whole new franchise. 2022 All in SB stolen from us. 2023…I’ve been consistently seeing as a lesser team than we fielded last season. Now maybe they are proving me slightly wrong and are a stronger contender than I’ve believed. But situation on contracts. Cap and aging top talent very similar to past cycle.

You never talk about the actual available cap space... it's always dead cap or something that isn't a bottom line.   Dead cap space is a tool that can be used to create more cap space.

I know it's difficult for some to get, especially people who wanted to have Zach Ertz count 30 million vs the cap 4 years ago, this way we get it out of the way...🤦‍♂️

Hurts has carried this whole team for 3 years all alone, pretty amazing stuff 🤣

In a rollover cap situation explain how dead cap creates more cap space.

So 14-3 losing by 3 in the Superbowl....starting 8-1 .... is falling off????  Which team other than KC has been better since?

Which team has managed the cap better?

And then we need to count as much of their pay as possible year one of the contract.

There are many factors on how dead cap creates more cap space.   You put yourself in position to do so by writing contracts early and having the ability to adjust them later.  Many tools can be used to create cap space...one of them is not being afraid to replace a player with an equal or better one,  if it ultimately creates more cap space,  even though in the moment you add dead cap.

When you approach the cap like Dallas does... you go a decade without being able to sign any significant free agent.

Even though in the moment you don't ever see Dallas pay anyone who doesn't deserve the money, they just don't pay them correctly.

So exactly….dead cap doesn’t. It can be decided on as the best path to go with. But dead cap doesn’t create more cap space.

But if your brilliance can be shared with the rest of us, No Mas. How would you extend Sweat’s contract to give him the raise he’s so deserving to receive this season?

Sweat had a signing bonus. But big money on the option bonus. Enabled Rosie to massively backload the cap hits.

Not disputing the fact we had good LB play I’m saying we didn’t invest in LB to different things all together.

Bradham didn’t break the bank for us he was a cheap signing who wanted to play for Schwartz again and we had a draft picks step up Kendrick’s and Hicks

White didn’t break the bank for us was a cheap signing and TJ stepped up as an UDFA

This year nothing really different minus Dean hasn’t stepped up like past rookies and our cheap FA signings haven’t stepped up like White or Bradham… but the process was the same thing we always do

Massive when you don’t have a QB under contract breaking the bank….Where do we see the 49ners in 3 years from right now??? Purdy likely up for extension, Chase needs a new deal, CMC, OL, no draft picks

Vs where are the Eagles in 3 years I’m willing to guess we are in a better situation

You just said we would be worse this year after the SB lol 😂 so clearly not playing out pretty much like you expected… honestly argue this team is better then last years if it wasn’t for turnover problem

More importantly - JASON Kelce made the sexiest man alive list!

Actually thought we were going to bring back Hicks at the deadline

I find it strangely disturbing that you noticed that

Was in this am's Eagles roundup

https://www.newsnow.com/us/Sports/NFL/NFC+East/Philadelphia+Eagles

That and I watched the Kelce bio which is really good - a lot with Barwin at his house, Kelces' physical problems etc

Would really enjoy going to that bar in NJ when he's pouring the beers for charity.

Kelce was also at our local craft brewery a couple of years ago. close to his cattle operation.
