What constitutes being a champion.   Do you need to win 2 SBs?   Winning one doesn't count?   I'm just curious because I'm wondering how many owners we can call a champion if they need to win 2 SBs?

Owners have LARGE egos. They want to separate themselves from each other. Lets just say that most of them are around long enough that one Super Bowl win isn't getting the "Champion" job done. You know it when you see it. Jerry Jones is in the Hall of Fame with 3 Super Bowls. Al Davis with 3. Wellington Mara with 6 Titles between Championships and Super Bowls. I'm sure I am missing some owners. Of course we all know that Robert Kraft will eventually be there. None of these owners won any of those Super Bowls by themselves but they were smart enough to hire the right people who COULD win them for them and it didn't take any of these guys long to get rid of the wrong people if they made a hiring mistake and replace them with the right people.

What Laurie has done and what Banner has done has literally nothing to do with Howie you can’t fault a guy for the past guys failures.... In a decade since being GM Howie has done what no other GM has ever done with the Eagles won a SB....

Of course I can fault Lurie and Banner for what Howie has done. Banner trained him! It wasn't like Lurie hired an outsider of the organization to come in after Banner was fired with new ideas. They kept the same ideas with a new person. We will just have to agree to disagree 93. I respect your opinion in a lot of things but if I am an Owner and I hire a head coach and GM together, They have 5 years to win a Super Bowl or they are done. If they win a Super bowl in those 5 years, they get another 5 to repeat. There is way too much talent out there to put up with mediocrity for any extended amount of time. One Super Bowl win in 26 years is mediocrity. IMO

13... more if you consider the PRe-SB years.....

In his first draft as general manager of the New York Jets, Joe Douglas added a foundational pillar and a developmental piece for his offensive line, a playmaking receiver, two versatile, highly-skilled athletes for his defense, backups for two signature players on offense, a pair of cornerbacks and a punter. Six of the nine players Douglas drafted were captains including all five of his picks on Day 3 as RB La'Mical Perine (Florida), QB James Morgan (FIU), OL Cameron Clark (Charlotte), CB Bryce Hall (Virginia) and P Braden Mann (Texas A&M) joined first-round T Mekhi Becton (Louisville) as players who wore the "C" on the collegiate level.

Yes, you dump wild card weekend and have 4 playoff games per conference.

The NFL has a procedure for playoff tiebreakers that is 11 steps long.  That's not an issue.

I like Douglas draft haul overall. Really had guys I liked. But his first round pick will be the big question. Becton got flagged on his drug test. He loves to eat. But there were options and Douglas took Becton. That call will be a big one. If Becton is tossing people and flattening defenders he hit this draft out of the park. I don’t have much of an opinion one way or the other with Becton. I just know he’s monstrously huge!

Well I had Perrine and Morgan for us(sigh).I had Hall in 2,but thought we would go BTB WR-our pick? Neither lol.But I understand the cap thing.

IDK what is a champion vs a dynasty? How many SB's constitutes a dynasty in what amount of time?

Jets had a good draft,so did the VIkes

Vikes weren’t my fave draft. Kind of went hit or miss. Wasn’t big on Jefferson. Liked Gladney. Ezra Cleveland not terribly familiar with...thought it was a reach. Cameron Danzler I didn’t like. Vikes got the big time defensive coach...but I’m trumping him on that bad call. DE Wonnum...miss. James Lynch DT didn’t stick out to me in prep...but I really don’t have an educated enough opinion. Troy Dye was a good LB pick in the fourth. 7 other players taken after that. So a big, numbers wise, draft for the Vikes. They had a lot of ammo and executed a bunch of trades. Not a fan of the last seven. Nate Stanley as a late round sleeper QB was worth a shot.

So would you have fired Ozzie Newasome???? Since it took him 11 years to win 1???? Or Sean Payton he hasn’t won since 06....Also shuffling through guys every 5 years is not a formula for success either look at Cleveland and all the massive changes they keep having to make.

Hard to say. Really most seem skeptical of rookies being able to contribute but so much this year. Mostly because of the COVID19 situation. Do any draft picks have workout equipment? Definitely not at levels like the gym or Novacare. Guys got to be extremely self motivated. Don’t have the trainer over your shoulder. So what kind of shape will these guys come in at? Then you get into will they get a full TC and preseason? New rules limit the padded practices now. Gotta matter.

Would love to see Reagor practice Social Distancing on the football field.

Let’s see how they actually play out before trying to hype of Joe Douglas.... I listed all his players here he had a hand in picking as well but somehow he only gets the praise for the good ones and Howie gets all the bad picks lmao

WHY? because we can't coach WR's lol

Not sure how much blame or credit to give him here. Wasn’t his call. The Jets situation is tough also. Seemed like the coach thought he was running everything. So was this his draft or the coach?

Isn’t that a factor? They got extra picks...but lost Diggs. So it was trade Diggs for Jefferson. I’d rather have Diggs.
