So Ertz asked for his release because Trey McBride was starting to take up too many snaps. But you believe he’ll view coming here as a better situation for him to thrive? Your logic doesn’t seem very sound on this one all the way around.

Yes SB contender v a team going nowhere huge difference….

Why would Ertz come back after the way we booted him out in the dead of night?

Just think with full time refs they'd study, be tested - may take some of the subjectivity out of it. Gambling's here to stay, nothing can really be done but to have the league scrutinizing their finances, which I imagine they already do

Thought Ertz left for richer pastures?  We simply couldn't afford to meet his price.

Well maybe I should reconsider since your opinion seems to be a very popular notion. Ertz doesn't play ST. Doesn’t block.  Are you willing to place Calcattarra on IR giving Ertz his spot?

Goedert demanded it

Sure Calcattera has done what exactly lol I’d definitely feel more confident in Ertz as a rental for the rest of 2023 v Cal

Why wouldn’t he want to come back knows the city plenty of the players and he wants to chase another ring…. Again for the rest of 2023 definitely could see him wanting to come back

Icing on the cake he is what 11-12 catches away from the franchise record for most catches.

2024 he can go pursue another job with a more active role if he wants.

I wasn’t arguing ….just trying to figure out some way to make the move logical. Calc plays ST however. Not the greatest blocker. Have Okwegbunanum at TE that has lifted a couple ST snaps. Just doesn’t make any sense to me to carry five TEs on the roster and especially to dress on Gamedays.

Calc has logged 72 ST snaps

Definitely shouldn’t carry 5 TEs on game day but at this point do the season hard to find players that could actually improve your roster outside of a guy getting released.

Think Eetz fits that as a backup TE similar to Leonard could be a decent add for LB obviously I know they got cut for a reason and they aren’t going to be game changers but at this stage of the season that just isn’t likely but still two guys that I think could deepen the roster and help us especially in the playoffs

Ertz cleared waivers

Linebacker Zach Cunningham (hamstring) and safety Justin Evans (knee) are both out while tight end Dallas Goedert (forearm) is doubtful. Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox (groin) and tight end Grant Calcaterra (ankle) are both questionable.

He was traded mid year.he went to sleep as an Eagle and woke up a Cardinal

Calc seems injury prone as well

It's about how we treated him on his departure

Forgot, that old memory thing, the pain patch and headache meds don't help

Ertz/Goedert was a nice tandem, just reverse who the 1 and 2 is. If he wants to come back I would have no issues, but would he? Carolina could use a TE but they are not contenders

He didn't seem aware he was "on the block" and he had family in AZ,so IDK what the situation is,but he would fit right in if he wanted to return. Our draft picks and FA adds aren't exactly lighting things up

Leonard more important imo but would welcome Ertz as well. We have O weapons, need depth OL and run stopper.

At 33 he would need to pass a decent workout. I don't recall hearing his name on game day. We need a decent round TE pick, but he could fill in maybe this year and next. I'm fairly shocked because usually we are good at brining TE's along, but the BU's we have are lackluster. Stoll is a solid blocker, the rest are underwhelming

Carter is a HUGE chunk of humanity. I want him pancaking Purdy and Caff
