So let me ask.... the way we play our safeties 25 yards deep, do you think it's a lot to ask our LB to cover all that ground...especially being the 12 yard cushion our CBs give?

We give up too many long 3rd downs... it's the soft scheme.

We play soft because the pass rush is SUPPOSED to get to the QB,but we aren't doing that as dominant as we should be

GG going in Jax,Bengals in a must win. BU QB Browning is doing a great job

"Against a team that does a lot like that is just to make sure everybody is on the same page. I think that’s where we just didn’t do a good enough job of just making sure everyone was on the same page as far as, ‘hey, all the little different things to the different motions they could do.’

I found this interesting. Feel like I can almost see the gears in Siri mind churning. Siri didn’t utilize much motion early on here. Started to use it a bit more now. So I can see him using this as a good lesson for him to use on his own O.

4 vs 5....can't count on that every time, especially when there is zero disguise or threat of a blitz... there is zero disguise to anything defensively...strictly relying on the talent...which is really only there up front.

We start out pressuring QB's then it stops, much like our offense

Those used to be typical scores in the old AFC Central LOL

They paint chairs at 1/2 time to keep the crowd around

They are fresh at the start...going 4 vs 5 all game doesn't help

Teams adjust to us lot of the SF passes were out of Purdy hands so fast no chance for the pass rush to get there

Opposing QBs have a 114.6 passer rating when Eagles have blitzed this season. Last season: 77.3. In the last 2 games, Josh Allen and Brock Purdy collectively have 13.5 yards per attempt with 3 TDs when the Eagles have blitzed

I also hear we are looking into Zack Moss at RB

Then why are we successful early, then it drops off? QB's usually have an established "time to release". It's hard for them to speed that up very much. They have a certain speed and rhythm and while you can dance in the pocket to buy time, we simply aren't getting there fast enough to disrupt them except for the first series. If we can't disrupt fast, accurate passers we aren't going to the SB because being fast and accurate, they will continue to burn us. Secondary is playing way too soft IMO. They aren't even covering close enough for the QB's to hesitate because their receivers are so open. Slay seems like he is losing a step also due to this soft coverage scheme. he gets there 1 step after the ball is already caught and that is not going to work. You can get away with that with lesser or rookie QB's,but not the top teams QB's. There is no pressure and that's what our defense is built around. Add to that what I just posted that we get burned blitzing and that makes it worse yet(lol) SO,pressure not there, but when we blitz it gets even worse. Either we lack talent in the secondary, the coverage calls are crap or both. There is no "domination" of our D line anymore. IDK what the answer is,but it bugs me alot on the D side. Adding even more to this,if the offense sucks like they have been, the D gets gassed and can't do their jobs. Something needs to change and in a hurry

IMO Eagles are based on A) Running the ball EFFECTIVELY B) Creating a constant pass rush pressure on defense and right now we are doing neither one

I guess the guys we have blitzing aren't fast enough either. I'm very frustrated the last few games playing the better teams and frankly,we look like we don't belong there

https://www.nflmockdraftdatabase.com/big-boards/2024/consensus-big-board-2024?pos=RB  I would look at Corum from Michigan with the Saints pick if Howie won't pay for Moss. Lots of rookies making impacts this year, but they need to be higher picks than Howie wants to go. After all the investment in our O line WHY can't we RUN THE BALL? Swift should be good for 100 yards a game. Either pay for Moss or draft Corum. Keep Swift and Gains. Let Scott and Penny walk and pick up a late RB or a cheap FA as your 4th. Gotta make a move at this position now IMO,then again we have aged O line also,so this will be a tough draft to call especially if Kelce retires.

Because early on they don't understand that our DBs give 15 yard cushion.   Once they figure it out, they throw short and take the free 8 yards

I think if we lose this week.   It needs to be an embarrassing loss.  I think right now you see stubborn game planning and play calling.    I think the best thing for this team is a change in philosophy.  Use the running game some...in the right spots.  Defensively we need to stop with the big cushion.

Made purdy hold the ball longer and the pass he did get out quickly we stuffed for short to no gains leading to longer rd downs forcing longer developing plays giving more time for the rush….

no pass rush is going to look good if the ball is getting out the qbs hand in 2 secs…. Hell look at us the SF pass rush wasn’t dominate hurts held the ball that gave them time big part of that was SF secondary having our WRs on lockdown so no place to throw
