But a point you…and others have pointed out about Hurts not getting out of bounds at the end of the first half was pretty dumb move on his part. Just step out of bounds. Get that field goal. We had no TOs. Down to six seconds or whatever. Could be extra greedy and desire one more shot at a TD before the half. But man Hurts could have cost us that 3 points right before the half. If they just don’t do all that extra so bad they get called for a penalty being so overly deliberate stalling us. I don’t think we were getting a play off. The way things ended up playing out….obviously not getting that field goal before the half could have made things very much different. Hurts was dumb on that play. Lucky giants were so dumb as well.

Another crazy play was the second half opening KO. Obviously I’m rewatching the game right now. I like to watch the gashes more than once fairly consistently…if possible. Ive heard it seemingly wrongfully identified what occurred. Like O.Z. was just some complete moron that ran backwards like a chicken with his head cut off into Scott. All causing the fumble the giants recovered and promptly converted into a TD. What actually occurred? Was the giants player jacked O.Z. up so far he knocked him like over six yards straight back into Scott. It really was a fantastic play by that giants ST player to have created. O.Z. back there had zero momentum almost and ran into a guy coming full head of steam half of the field at him. That same giants player, I believe, also made the fumble recovery. Heck of a big time two actions in one play by the hated guy. Clearing the record on that play.

Dabol so pissed at that bad penalty call of movement by his C …or G. Same thing we do, on the road, G looks back and then alerts C ready for snap. Jalen Carter blasted offsides really in my opinion. Was a fairly significant play…or non play penalty that went in our favor that could have really changed things.

I thought AJ maybe suffered a concussion and played through it. I sure hope that wasn’t the case. Just can’t say for sure from my viewpoint(the couch). AJ sure took a bunch of punishment in this giants game even if not suffering head trauma of that level. Ughhh

Goedert not full go healed. Is what it is at this point I guess. Stuff like this is why I consider giving him and just too many of our guys really could use a bye….one way or the other. AJ, Cam, Devonta too many key guys….Hurts I believe is actually looking more healthy.

Of course...because you must think that I can't add 1 plus 3 = 4?  I'm not surprised..you look to argue every chance you get.  And you don't pay attention.

Really loved that throw by Hurts over the underneath defender…but not so looping the side defender could arrive in time to stop it on 3rd and freaking twenty. 22yards. Play of the game!

Then Gainwell busts arguably his best run of the season….right after. All leads to a TD to go up 27-18. Which seemed, at the time, to be a comfortable cushion. It felt like then anyway

At that point in the game felt like we were rolling. Had overcome the dumb stuff(however you wish to describe what went against us). Had control of the game ready to blow out the loser giants. Had to be such a universal feeling…I just don’t think I was alone with.

Daniel Bellinger four catches…43 yards. Their second string TE I don’t think I even heard of did to us. We started with such a stout run D this season. But if you can run the ball on us and anybody can pass on us….uggghhhhh…just don’t know how to slap much lipstick on those pig facts.

Really didn’t feel simple much at all with just how deep dive the tiebreakers reached to be settled. Having the four opponents dealing with really adds to the…ughh…,well just call it the excitement. The team being down a game being up in the tiebreakers after what many preached for weeks it seemed was that we had the tiebreakers on them instead….flipped….and they lost. Pretty wild in my view really. Not real happy about that fact either.

Yes...losing all those specific 3 games in a row killed the tiebreaker.

There is only one scenario left where Eagles get a tiebreaker now.   If all of the Eagles,  Dallas and Detroit split the last 2 games....then the Eagles get the tiebreaker over Detroit and get the 2 seed.

In your ideal scenario... you want Detroit to beat Dallas and then lose to Minnesota.   Or Dallas to beat Detroit and then lose to Washington.  That's where Eagles can still get a 2 seed if they lose.

At this point... for me, I prefer just winning the 2 games and staying healthy.

But the good thing is... Dallas and Detroit play first, so something will work in our favor.   Let's hope for a tie.  Then a win Sunday vs AZ clinches the division and we control destiny for 2 seed.

Who had 4 fumbles?  The Eagles had 1 fumble...the kickoff returner running into his own guy...when is the last time you saw that?

The interception would have hit Goedert in the chest if he didn't slip.

Come on now.   They can't put up 50 on a good team unless they are playing a good team.

The eagles had 4 fumbles.....they lost 1.........the kickoff return was a small WR being blasted into Scott.....who fumbled getting hit...... WTF was Zaccheus doing out there blocking on a kickoff?

Yes, Goedert slipped.....but a stupid call on 2nd down and 20....a a quick out route for 6 yards?? Come on.....

I listed 10 things that the coordinator is directly or indirectly causing......he constantly puts them in poor position, he is downright idiotic with situational play calls.

Look, a win makes every body feel better........but these aren't new issues.......we're going into week 16 and the offense stumbling and bumbling every week

They cannot win in the playoffs with Johnson calling the plays......and they better wake up to it soon.

So how did 3 fumbles not lost factor in?

You want to wager they win the first playoff game with Johnson calling the plays?

Offense is 7th in points... 8th in yards... 7th WORST in turnovers.   The coordinator doesn't throw a pick or fumble.

They are at the bottom in punts per game.

If you really watched the games, you would see an offense that moves the ball.  The occasional odd play call...but the main issue is the dumb turnovers.  And the center ....everyone's favorite, has really had some awful timed penalties this year.  Including probably the dumbest of the season moving the ball a half yard forward in what would have been a gimme TD on a 3rd down tush push.

That penalty along with James Bradberry on the last drive, were the two biggest factors in our most important loss of the season.

I know they are your favorite players and you get emotional and defensive about them. But the blaming of the OC and letting them off the hook is just ignorant.

They are making mistakes that solid players don't make, let alone potential hall of famers... or any front runner for MVP.

O.Z. has been an excellent blocker. Been so key on several, much more than once or twice, by blocking opening it up for AJ, Smitty, Swift took smaller plays all the way to become gigantic plays. He’s back there on KO because you want a guy that can catch as that second option to Scott as the returner. You get a good blocking one as your secondary returner option…better bonus than usual. He isn’t a big guy though. All technique. Had no momentum and got blasted I’m thinking over five yards back into Scott to create that disaster.

Now agree with so much of what you are saying with the coordinators. Feel like it goes so much deeper the issues both coordinators have going on. So much you state…PLUS just the levels of out of sync and rhythm everything is. Great coaches things would look so much different than they have. Just haven’t put it all areas together. This piece here…that piece there….way everything has really felt this season. Sucks!

But optimistic we win the SB with some luck and timing connecting with some players getting on fire. Hurts finally looking healthy to me now. He’s really powered through some health crap this season. Two games ago when he flew alone to game? He just so obviously and clearly looked so pale and sick. But the knee issue for most of the season looks to be better. Many only think and consider the running with the knee. But so much of passing comes from your lower body and planting and driving. Hurts doesn’t have that Mike Vick arm to overcome it as well.

I have the super optimistic scenario possibility in my head that A few young guys step up and play great this postseason. I’m liking Kelee Ringo. Ben Van Sumerin looked ok in his first action at LB. Imagine those two kids…and maybe another one or two just clicking and playing amazing this postseason. Ringo plays like a shutdown corner. Or imagine just having a CB playing decent even. What if BVS clicks and plays well at LB. Maybe get Cunningham back to play along side him. Guess I’m just dreaming. Not much real reason to expect such thoughts.  Just feels like the bar is so very low with some of the play we’ve had. Blankenship only decent DB player we’ve had all season. He’s a limited athlete though really. But he’s by far the stud out of the five DBs at least normally out there each play. LBs been far from any strength. Just such a thin line between good/bad and great plays being made.
Give me a favorable ref call or two in each game?

Or we could lose to the Cards.

IMO yes and no. Some plays you just need to LOSE and move on,or perhaps not use every 4th play like clockwork. Hurts is best running on broken plays. I don't like all these QB called runs. Almost every play is a RPO when instead it should be play action(look up the difference) after establishing the run(which we do,then abandon). Some called QB runs work, but it's not very consistent.Another- Throwing trash sideline passes for 1 yard gains or losses needs to go. Tear that play out of the book,it STINKS. Firstly, using that automatically gives your opponent another defender, the SIDELINE. Secondly,it's not using Goederts strength(or anyone elses). Goedert is best on mid field crossers or at least on 5 yard min routes, yet we continue to use the screen so far out to the sideline(I call those flares) it's not effective. At least just toss it 1/2 way to the sideline so at least you can have an option to turn it in or out with defenders in front. With the sideline an automatic defender, those are bound to get choked off because we can't seal the edges,so just STOP. Put that damn play in the shredder and move on. It's a consistently bad play the OC has dreams of succeeding, but they are only dreams. Another-we are putting ourselves into to many 3rd and longs(because of the previously mentioned BS plays). That's an automatic tee off time for defenses. They know the pass is coming and they bring the house. This forces errant passes/drops just out of reach due to the hurried pass, picks,or forces Hurts to throw or run. In this case a broken play on 3rd can work with Hurts running, but gawd, let's stop making a habit out of it. If you want Hurts to be hurt, they are trying really hard to do that. I was pleased last year with the progress Hurts had made as a passer,a "pocket passer". The accuracy came up to snuff last year. His long ball got better too,so we abandoned that also I guess. IDK as I watch this offense we could be SO much better.AS i said,I was sitting on the xmas couch pre calling the plays because even I,as a couch coach could predict the calls. It's really sad when I can do that. I should not have that ability with an effective NFL team. Find 2 more plays you can steal online and replace the 2 I mentioned. They can't be any worse. Yeah I agree with the stupid penalties. I feel we are making more trying to FORCE being effective, because the play calls aren't good enough. I'm glad we are moving the ball some. We are doing that because we have good players, not because the calls are effective. We're moving the ball in SPITE of that. After every team seeing us this year, the 11 plays we run(of which 2 stink up the house) aren't going to work at crunch time,as we have seen during the 3 losses. At times Hurts looks like a deer in headlights, hesitation will kill you in the NFL. He can't hold the ball for 5 seconds AND make a bad play. Sometimes he is freakin amazing(like the busted play to Calcaterra), Now WHY did it take a busted call for him to get his first NFL catch? Yes he's been hurt, but now he's back. We need to use ALL the assets-ALL. Just as a last note I would like to see more stunts on the D side. We need to be DOMINATING on the pass rush, not just "good". We need that to offset the weak secondary. It's the same plan Howie has always had

lot of talk about us getting the possible two seed do we really want the two seed? As of right now if we got the 2 seed we would play Seattle…

Hasn’t Seattle beaten us like the last what 10 times we have played or something like that

Avoiding Niners long as possible has it value. But 3 seed would accomplish same goal…believe that’s the point you are making here though. Do you have an assumption of third seed first round opponent?

  • Author

BG I’m just not ready to be in position to make the call of whom will be the 6th and 7th seed. Just know I want the cowboys to be the 5.

  • Author

Rams and SeaChickens are my assumption of being the 6 and 7 seeds. We beat the Rams.,,but they worry me more in many ways over Seattle that actually beat us. No Mas and I agree on one thing…we shouldn’t have lost to them though. Got me thinking here BG. Very interesting stuff to contemplate and ponder. I don’t think I have the best reasoning to make the case for my opinion of preference more than….gut. Stafford scares me more is really all I have for my argument of preference.

I want the one seed….don’t want the five. About where my seeding preference stands.
