They asked Fangio directly about our job….everybody always would just deny and crap that down. He made it clear he wasn’t shutting down that the Eagles DC job was an option. Speculation was Fangio was brought in the season before knowing Gannon was leaving even. We had Fangio as our DC if not for Rosie creating all that scandal over Gannon. Gannon created the scandal actually. It happened, obviously. But Rosie could have made the wise move of letting it go. Pretty clear he got the pick swap instead of  Fangio. Rosie adds to his reputation going forward of coaches understanding they better not break rules or he’ll nail them for it.

What was the " scandal" over Gannon ...that would prevent Fangio from taking the DC job?

Specifically say your reason

This season? You asked I thought

The GM job is just based off of one season?  Really?  You would hire a GM or coach based off of just one season of work?   How about a coordinator?

How about when the Eagles messed up with Travis Fulgham....because you thought they were going to have to pay him big money?

Who were the Baltimore draft picks vs the Eagles that you like the GM better.  Who were the free agents he signed in comparison?

Let's talk specifics.

Way too deep an answer needs to be formulated to judge 32 GMs over multiple seasons. I’m not knowledgeable enough about the other 31 as I know Rosie. So extremely deep dive to formulate the answer. I can’t right now. But I can hold Rosie accountable. Honestly I believe him being worthy of the Hot Seat if we don’t win the SB.

Yeah...formulate some for us.

Gannon broke the rules and Rosie was taking matters to the commish. Gannon had a call from Zona GM at inappropriate time. Which league ruled him guilty of. Or he just was forced to admit even I believe. I personally believe Gannon was doing much more wrong than just that one phone call. But Rosie had him nailed on that phone call which was against league rules. We exchanged picks with Cards in fourth round as their penalty. How did you miss all this?

Yeah…I’m not here just to do your bidding. So I’m good on that.

I mean....which GM across the league would you say works the contracts really well?

Who drafts well?

Who would you say " hey don't take that phone call, that GM is going to rob you in a trade"?

I mean...really 3 jobs in building a roster... draft, adding vets....and managing the contracts.

Of course then you can add creating the culture and hiring the coaches.  Idk, players seem to like it here compared to other places.  Seem to want to come here.

Maybe Sweat is earning 30 mil per year and isn't happy?  Idk... maybe that's why he hasn't done much since you kept mentioning his contract?

Yeah....I'm missing to where Fangio wouldn't take the DC job because of something Howie did?

I believe Rosie mistakes as being egregious enough to consider firing. Pretty bad mistakes. Yet still pretty good team. But remember what the goal actually is.

Come on now.... you can go on for pages about resting players in October... why losing to face a different opponent matters... analyzing 7th round picks..  you can't formulate why you would prefer other GMs?

So who should have a GM job if you want to fire Howie?

What mistake was worse than investing 3 first round picks for Lance?

I mean....you are sounding like a Yankees fan.   Imagine if you were a Cowboys fan and couldn't sign a free agent for a decade....had to unload Cooper,Schultz and other players due to money.

Then invested picks for Cooks... and still have to pay guys in the future killing your cap.

But hey... we sign 20 guys...why didn't we sign 21?

Why is it a good team?  Who built it?

Why has it been a good team...arguably 2nd best results other than KC since 2016?

How about you just stay focused on the Eagles first even? Desai hiring as DC already been admitted as wrong. Fangio so obviously sitting in his lap and let go for Desai and the pick swap? I consider fire-able level offense possibly. The decisions made at S and LB i consider fire-able offenses. Especially put in context of Rosie practically preaching lowest priority positions as he sees it. Both he admitted by making several moves to try and correct during the season. I can give him credit on fixing the S mistake done with pulling off the Byard trade. The choice of Dean and ? at LB was terrible! Flat out terrible. And obvious. And yes I called it. So nothing here I’m just stating even in hindsight. These three areas I see as glaring GM job failure. Tons more nitpicking to be done about his job performance. Slay? Bradberry? CGJ? Contracts and cap? Not all just negative. Positives too. But the three glaring mistakes are for consideration of being fired in my eyes. Team wins the SB? Not fired. Gets a raise.

Yep sounds like you missed it. No idea how?

Thing is Rosie deserved credit for bringing Fangio in last season. Great job and hire. To screw up the perfect setup he lined right up? Makes it more glaring and worse really.

Because it's easy.   When comparing...you look across the league.   It's not difficult.   Why do we consider Tom Brady good?  Because of his results compared to the rest of the league at the time.

You believe that the guy who built the team in the first place should be fired.

Yet the guy in SF without a championship on his resume....that wasted 3 first round picks is fine?

What is the main reason for the Eagles success the last 6 years?

Which person do you think is most responsible for that?

Lurie ultimately responsible for everything.

Chip,  Doug, Siri, Wentz,  Foles, Hurts, Lurie, Howie.....who do you think had the most impact on the sustained success and championship...and two SB appearances?

There you go...  Lurie built the team and manages the cap.  Lurie is the guy making trades.   Got it.

Then Lurie should be on the hot seat....ultimately it's his responsibility.

Capping out a 4 win team was easily fire-able. It was like he screwed up so bad…he was the only one that could dig us out. Getting everything so clusterF you can’t be fired was the way I saw Rosie 2020-21 situation.

So who is your answer?
