Chip,  Doug, Siri, Wentz,  Foles, Hurts, Lurie, Howie.....who do you think had the most impact on the sustained success and championship...and two SB appearances?

How many years has Rosie been GM? How many SB? Was so glad he brought us the trophy finally. But then butchered things to go backwards after. Then built up something last year I believed Rosie did the job to where we should have won the SB. Went backwards now. Not a great job this season.  Unless they win the SB. We aren’t favored…but if we win the SB he did the job well. Many versions where I believe should be favored this season. Doubling down on Slay was a consistent failure pattern. What he did after we won the SB that took us steadily in decline. Bradberry fits that also. Choice he made was bring him back. Wasn’t a good decision. Traded for Swift(you never answered by the way)? Good decision.

Extremely fire-able offense

So Lurie should be fired...especially for the illegal things Gannon did... that caused Fangio to not want the DC job.

And never traded away 3 first round picks for a QB who barely played

Reaching every NFC Championship after doing that massive screw up is actually pretty incredible talent. Lance terrible. Trading all that away but still fielding such a great team after that player busting ? shows most every other decision from Lance were great decisions.

Nah...best GM in the league.   He cleared cap in 2017...got all those stud players off the roster.  Genius

Lurie is the boss. Everything comes back to the boss. Gannon did illegal things. But shouldn’t have pursued action against Gannon costing Fangio. Bad trade-off all day long!

Easy to make the case for best GM. I’d say easiest case to be made. Niners are a long sustained championship level team for sure.

I’d say Rosie’s performance got Pedey fired. Number one reason.

Because it was legit vs Green Bay in the blizzard... lol

Dude...niners have sustained zero.   They were not legit contenders... they lost in one SB....we won one and made another.

The Green Bay win was more fluke than double doink

And if you want to fire Howie....because the team has expectations... yet don't hold the SF guy who absolutely made a brutal trade for a team that apparently you have as even more of a contender...then that absolutely makes zero sense.  Double standard.

Is it about bottom line or not?

When the analysts discussed starting a franchise from scratch.    It came down to Mahomes, Howie and Belicheck.

It's great that you nitpick as a fan.  Really it is.  But you get to the point with Howie and Hurts that it's absolutely ridiculous one way or the other.   Always looking to give another guy credit for Howie...and another guy the blame for Hurts.

If you were to poll everyone on here,I doubt anyone would disagree.

I mean....for 58 minutes he sucked.  Then he found James Bradberry.    All these pros....anyone can have their Bobby Hoying moment.   Lock had his drive... thanks to Bradberry.

I suspect Geno will do better? See we need to play 60,not 58 or crap like this happens

Hall of fame numbers there

Doesn't matter,he put up better numbers than Hurts. All that was needed for the W

Idk.... the game in Philly is a little different than Seattle.   You ever been to the Linc?

Hurts we can agree wasn't anywhere near 100% traveling across country by himself due to being sick and missing the last couple of practices?

Idk... we can agree to disagree...i think a healthy Hurts and the game being in Philly makes a big difference.   That might be me reaching though.   A lot of people probably don't think a healthy QB and home field advantage across the country make a difference...who knows?

I assume these things would have zero effect on the Vegas lines.

Niners are contending because of 1)They got LUCKY with Purdy(see Brady)   2) they got Caff(who was basically Carolinas offense). Got a nice defense, which took them many years to get there

No,but have been in some intense stadiums. I know home field(12th player) helps, but as pros they can overcome alot of that. If you can't you won't be in the NFL long

I would take Geno in Philly over Lock about anywhere

That's why we have BU's. Maybe we should have put Mar in. Obviously Hurts numbers weren't good. Not that Mar could have done better, but we never tried. You can't ride a sick QB just because he got the big money. AS you said we thought we could win with him and would have if not for the tarnished last defense series. Would mar have gotten us more points? IDK. We never will know. But watching Hurts struggle as a passer could have been a reason to make a change during the game. Ego's aside, sometimes as a coach you have to make calls the players don't like. Maybe sitting Hurts was one of those missed calls.I usually figure a good BU QB is worth 65-75% of your starter. If your starter is at 50% or under, then you should make the change.Of course that change wouldn't have avoided the last drive, but if we had more points on the board, that last drive would have been moot. We put Hurts in on plays when we had Wentz,we can do that with Mar if we wanted to. Sometimes that BU gives the team a spark. We've seen that now with all these other BU's putting up nice "I can start somewhere" numbers

Philly is definitely a little different.

I'll take the healthy Hurts in Philly without really being concerned over either Geno or Lock.
