That 2020 NFL draft Ceedee Lamb was my top Wr prospect. Ruggs went 12. Jeudy 15. Lamb 17.

Who went after the Eagles selected?

Is a different game. But McCarthy isn’t that great a coach. Even under his less than brilliance Cowboys could be in line for the second seed. Jimmy Johnson could have been the difference over McCarthy where Cowboys won last year and this year the SB. We got the cowboys winning the East by one game last season, right? So they get one regular season game extra last season they win the East. Meaning we would have faced the Niners before they had to face either Niners or us. We beat Niners. So NFC Championship game would have been Eagles v Cowboys….in Dallas. No stretch on anything that didn’t already play out in my thinking here. Just one regular season game makes that difference. Do we beat Dallas ….in Dallas…NFC Championship game last year? Not hard to imagine cowboys win that game. Really not hard imagining cowboys beat KC in SB.
Sitting at same this season right now. One regular season game ahead of them potentially being the two seed. They’d have to beat Detroit tonight. But that gives Cowboys tiebreaker being tied with Lions for the two seed.

That’s exactly how close things were….and still are. One regular season game difference which Cowboys dealing with McCarthy as HC.

I agree on McCarthy

Remember these cowboys are the terrible cap managers. We are the brilliant cap managers. Yet them dealing with McCarthy and they were one regular season game difference from them PROBABLY WINNING THE SB. One regular season game behind us again this season. McCarthy being the real only reason for us having the one game difference last season on them. And one game lead on them this season.

???   At what point has Dallas been close to winning a SB?    I don't think any team that can't make a final 4 is close considering it takes 2 more steps after that?  Harder steps as we found out 4 years in a row not too long ago.

But I agree....$73 mil for 5 years of Hurts much better than $85 mil for 2 years of Dak.

Only a one regular season game difference last season and this. So if you now agree with me on McCarthy. Which is true? Cowboys great at cap management? Or Eagles terrible at cap management? You claim the opposite on both this whole previous time I’ll remind you. I’ll wait for an answer. That you never supply…while preaching in the one doesn’t answer your questions…while I most always do. You are the guy that responded to my question if whether the assist trade was good or not by: asking me if the assist trade was good or not? With never answering yourself.

We only had one regular season game advantage on the cowboys to win the East last season providing us top seed and home field. You just admitted finally to agree with me on McCarthy being the actual difference. One regular season game difference gets the Cowboys the East champs last season instead of us. Forcing us to face the Niners instead of them. We beat the Niners. Cowboys would have most likely hosted us in NFC Championship game last playoffs. With a better HC mind you.

So once again: are the Cowboys actually brilliant at cap management? Or Rosie terrible at cap management?

  • Author

Because I’ve always maintained HC being the cowboys weak link. You just agreed with me…finally. One regular season game difference between the two franchises two straight years.

Both cap managers have fielded equal teams. I don’t think of either is brilliant or terrible myself. But appears both teams are equal…at whatever level you want to call it. I

Your previous stances whole time being Cowboys terrible…. Rosie brilliant at cap managing. But both fielding so very equal personnel two straight years.

So was wondering if you believed that meant Rosie was equal to your belief of cowboys of being terrible at cap management? Or now that cowboys were actually brilliant at cap management like you proclaimed Rosie?

We are only one game ahead two straight years of winning the East. So this would make personnel and cap management equal.

I didn't read any of your novel. . I apologize.

Didn't really read this post either.

But I'll give you the obvious

Dallas drafted well for a few years. Really it's the only thing they do well.  I haven't really liked their coaching.

And the fact they can't ever afford a decent free agent speaks for itself.

Really the only thing the cap does is allow you the opportunity to go pay outside players...  Dallas hasn't been able to even take a swing.

Eagles have issues selecting the right players.  Their cap management has offered them the chance to mess up in their selections quite often.

Also allows them to sign multiple pro bowlers... how many last year were players they spent money on.?  AJ, Slay, Bradberry, Reddick, Hargrave

Then you count the actual misses too...where their cap management ss allowed them to invest the money into the wrong players.

Again... player selection vs managing the money...two different things.

Dallas has drafted much better... the Eagles have managed the cap much better.... otherwise if it was just drafting Dallas would be ahead.

If Dallas didn't draft well....Eagles would be way ahead.

It's been significant time now since Dallas had the cap to invest.  Recently they had to let go of Cooper...imagine they could keep him.  The difference in having to cover both guys...pretty significant.

Brandon Cooks almost had that TD. Little better throw by Dak and he could have.

Nope. We let go of more players from last years team than they did. They added Cooks actually being able to add players more than we could afford to do.
