I posted the scenario earlier. Actually we got the outcome needed to try for the 1 seed

It really could happen. I think the Rams can beat the Niners.

Your post a little hard to read it that way. Could see it either way. Can see what you are saying now though once you point it out and clarify. Thanks.

I used 2 posts... one info...one with the bottom line.... like a math problem.

You just answered without reading post #2....all good.  On same page....just win...because if not, we get 5 seed unless Washington beats Dallas.

In fantasy he had Dak and Gibbs. Dak did ok(23) Gibbs got stuffed(5). SO now he has 6 YTP and I have 8 YTP and it's 32-11 and his QB has already played(I have Mayfield in vs the Saints). My 11 points was all from Njoku

Gutsy for the Lions to continue going after the 2 even with 3 tries at it

You’re right. Heck start with :gutsy to go for two in the first place.

Didn't watch any of the game...  but of course the big money on the line in fantasy, the other guy has Lamb.

Lamb had a great night.

I said thanks for clarifying. Could read it both ways I guess. Not sure what else I could say?

Season

Not yet... SF is the bigger obstacle. Easier games than Detriot had.  I'm ok with 2 seed ...just go into the playoffs winning 3 games.

Biggest thing to play for is top seed. Bye and home field throughout.

Or we could lose to the Cards or Giants and be the 5 seed.

Right, I was just pointing out I used 2 posts.   That's why you got delay before reading the bottom line...all good. I put on one post then no issue.

Top seed…or lose to a 3 win team with everything on the line. That’s the crazy season we are experiencing. Every game rollercoaster coming down to the end. Exciting…drama filled…whoooaaaaa. I really just don’t know what’s going to happen with this year’s team. It’s just that drastic. Are we the best? Will we lose to 3 win team at home? That drastic of unbelievably real possibilities.

But refs ‘not hearing’ player report catching two point conversion that clearly walked over to him before the play to report. That’s what we owe this opportunity to at this point.

I'm going to pose a question that would normally come from you.

2 scenarios...  in both cases we take care of business and win both games.

Scenario 1...  SF wind both we get 2 seed

Scenario 2... SF loses and we get the 1 seed.

Scenario 1... we play 7th seed, then Detroit at home.... then play either at SF or home again vs Dallas/ Tampa

Scenario 2...  we play home vs Dallas/ Tampa and home vs SF.

Do we want to avoid playing BOTH Dallas and SF?   You could argue more difficult opponents.

Or play both but don't have to worry about an extra game?

The beauty is... we can't do anything about it... we can just win.   But I will say.. almost a bonus getting to avoid Dallas ...

Obviously lm assuming Detroit wins their game ... but just interesting.  Especially if SF gets top seed but loses in divisional round.... that would be 3 home games, with none vs SF.

Wait…did Campbell state 70 reported eligible. So the Lions did screw up. Two guys can’t report. So guy who didn’t catch pass they counted as reporting over the guy who caught pass. Wasn’t the refs screwing the Lions then.

Both teams suffered what could be significant injury

I mean this is an excellent question and point. 7th seed could be Seattle

The question that I can beat up and ponder almost endlessly is do we want the one seed or the two seed? Very close to what you asked No Mas. Just leaving the opening that Detroit beats San Fran. So one seed we get bye, Cowboys then Detroit in NFC Championship game. Or potentially two seed of Seattle, Detroit then winner of Cowboys v Niners.

Both this question and yours No Mas I could spin my mental gears on  all night. 🤣 Similar to how I watched tonight’s game….just watch, enjoy and let it play out. No version where I root for the cowboys. But I wasn’t rooting for Detroit either.  It did deliver us the opportunity to be the one seed. But also delivered the opportunity to lose the division. Very tight and exciting season for sure.

Wait now on this T eligible reporting situation tonight. I need to get to the bottom of this. I’m confused. Did the lions screw up? Or refs just screw the Lions? Have a feeling it will be discussed on every sports talk everywhere tomorrow.

  • Author

As the 5 we’d go to South winner, Niners then winner of Detroit v Cowboys.

Lions went over this two point conversion plays very extensively. That seems very clear. I don’t know what happened with who reported eligible. Three T actually went out towards referee before they lined up. The guy the refs said reported eligible ran out the latest. I gotta put this on the Lions after all. Only one guy should go to official before they line up to report. Made no sense three guys went out there. Unless they were trying to smokescreen which guy it actually was? Trying to use three guys showing reporting to officials. Then snap it as quick as possible catching the cowboys in the confusion instead? Believe this makes some real sense of what was going on. But they confused the ref instead, maybe? That’s my conclusion of what occurred.
Trying to confuse cowboys…. the Lions confused ref instead.

That’s some deep stuff Detroit was up to. They are a real threat this season. Absolutely SB winning contenders.
