But again the problem begins with O being allowed to be on schedule. 3rd and 6 changes everything. Start with the issue on first and second down. On those downs…they didn’t do well. So accepting your result on third down…D failed every down. It all matters.

Yes I do. Fundamental Cover 3 coverage utilized across the league. That’s his job.

Please stop.

Go start talking about some college prospects. Amy more of this...I'm going to call you Patricia and Desai's lapdog

Outside CBs don’t run forward before the throw. Just putting it as nicely as I possibly can.

Watch tape. Outside CBs never run forward before the throw. This is just basic misunderstanding.

Anyone else here agree with Ham....that this is great football strategy?  Please chime in.

Have a good evening Ham.  Savant city

Lol... why should he have to run forward?  Isn't that the point?  How aren't you getting it?

You can get like that if you want. Frankly I could have easily flipped it on you. I’ve been nice and polite …patiently even trying to explain football to you. You are just not understanding the fundamentals of the game here. I’ll just leave it at that. Not stooping to your level. I tried to help you understand what’s occurring.

Basic fundamental football knowledge

So if we have this on both sides of the field.  Both slot guys have to cover to the sideline.  Both outside CBs cover 15 yards off the ball down the sideline

The safeties are ok being 25 yards deep.   And our LB needs to cover the other 3 guys in the middle of the field up to 12 yards deep....and the marker is only 4 yards away?

This is great strategy?

Lol... You have tried to justify this awful play calling that we have seen all year.

I know coverages ...thanks.  you come off as a complete snob.  Or a lapdog for the DCs.  The rest of the world knows the deal.  That's me being polite.  Th word i was thinking of rhymes with schoolbag

Maybe I should just put it this way…you just can’t in actuality cover everything…ever. You can’t defend against the run, while covering the sidelines, while covering the middle and deep. Always somewhere to attack. Unless you have studs that can Man up and press at the line. We have the opposite of those guys.

This doesn’t  even make sense. You don’t have two slot guys. This is Single High S look. Not Two High.

The best coverage scheme all season was vs Miami. Very easy to see why. Waddle was hurt and ineffective.   They feared giving Hill an inch.  So they pressed him and had someone on him from the start.

They played normal coverage.   10 yard cushions and back pedaling on 3rd and 4 isn't good strategy.  Which we have seen all year.  Apparently the slot CB has been the issue all year on these 500 times we have seen easy pitch and catch for conversions even up to 10-12 yards

It's a photo showing the overall trend that has been a huge issue all year. I don't think the slot guy missed his assignment all year.

This needs to be addressed.  It seems even our fans are starting to lose it.  Almost as dumb as " we have a defense built to play with a lead"  when each game starts 0-0.

We get used to seeing this stupid coverage,  now we start trying to justify it.  That's a problem.  That doesn't fly in this town.  We like aggressive defense.  Would be better if our guys got burned with the other team executing a difficult play.....giving up 9 yard catches without contesting them on 3rd and 4 doesn't fit the history of this organization or the fan base.

I’m the guy that was complaining about the DCs situation before the season started. You don’t understand coverages. You complaining about the wrong guy for the throw coverage. Complaining about the Over coverage player when the Slot CB having outside Zone is responsible. You can’t be responsible for Over and cover anything inside four yards. Yet Cover 3 is the most utilized coverage league wide. So most are using it…but your complaint also is it’s a bad D. In my belief you are wrong on both counts.

Yeah you can... you can put more defenders in coverage than they can put in the route

What you can't do is concede an obvious easy play. Can't win like that.  And the players obviously don't like it from everything coming out of Novacare.

You can absolutely attempt to cover everything. Especially on 3rd downs.  You won't succeed every time...but you should absolutely try.

Ham...please stop. This coverage has been a problem all year.  Stop trying to justify it.

Impossible! Just fairy tale version of thinking.

I didn’t say the coverage hasn’t been a problem. It’s been terrible. But not for the reasons you are ranting about. Trying to help you rant accurately at least.

The players were at fault in the run D.  That's enough for you to crucify Howie.

But this...it's a different issue. Bad scheme all year long. 50% is the league conversion on 3rd and 4.  Think about that. It includes the Eagles D. So in reality, the rest of the league stops 3rd and 4 more than half the time.

Fairytale to try to stop the offense without conceding?

The league stops this more than half the time. We bring the conversion rate up to 50% because we are awful at stopping it.

Strategies Iike this are a big part of it.

Think about what you said at one point there. Half the time…league wide…it’s converted. Some non conversions were bad throws…or pressure got there. Run was stopped. So think about those numbers and your thoughts.

It's not fairytale to try.  It's fairytale to think you are going to succeed 100%.

But the rest of the league stops 3rd and 4 more often than they fail.  That's reality.

Yes....think about it.    The Eagles raise the number to 50%.   So without us,it's below 50%

In the name of trying to assist you…sounds like you’d prefer a Cover 2 in this situation.

Just need to tighten things up all the way regardless of playcall. That’s where we can agree here.
