I like D’onta Foreman from the Bears. He’s a pending FA RB.

Other potential FAs include Zach Moss, Antonio Gibson, AJ Dillon and Trayveon Williams.

Two of these could work.

D’onta Foreman and the one of these we can get would most likely be my plan. Gibson would pair nicely with him.

I got a shocking trade thought. Would Zona give us their fourth overall pick plus for Jalen Hurts? If that kid from Washington Penix Jr is still on the board for us to take at 4. Which he supposedly is ranked 28th or something by PFF.

The signing bonus on Hurts was small. But  he has that Option in his contract. No Mas how tradeable is he? What would we take on if we traded him this offseason? Obviously the rest of his signing bonus. Would we owe the rest of his Option as well? That part his huge money and would make him untradeable for us if so.

If the cowboys lose and we win…. we win the East. Would face Seattle , Rams or Packers. Not sure any of those is an easier opponent than the South winner we face as the Wild Card. Biggest difference being we’d be playing at home. And get the Lions home instead of away.

Just trying to inform you you’re talking about the wrong guy…not in coverage of the throw you’re anticipating. You should be talking about the Slot CB for the throw you seem to be leery of. Just saying.

Cunningham, I like you dude. From an objective perspective reading the back and forth with you and Joe on this whole argument…You sound really petty and "snobby” and conceited on football "knowledge”. It is great that you have football knowledge. Seriously. In this instance, Joe posted a picture of CBs about 10 yards off the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and 4. He simply made a comment of, hey fans, whats wrong with this picture….generically? Football genius or first year fan MIGHT point out….why are they so far back?

I shouldn’t speak for Joe, but it wasn’t anything to do about what coverage they were playing. It was just a picture that is pretty obvius is a problem to have success covering a 3rd and 4 play. That’s it.

As my wife tells me sometimes, just chill! It’s ok. You don’t have to be right every time. Let others make a point they want to and agree. I have noticed you trying more. But you rub people the wrong way by talking down to them needing everyone to KNOW just how smart you are about EVERY subject or point brought up here.

I absolutely LOVE your passion for Eagles football. I even like how you continue to be all in on Hurts….sometimes I think you should recognize and admit his shortcomings more…but thats just my opinion….does NOT mean I am right.

Continue to bring passion to this discussion. Just don’t NEED to knock everybody else down to do it. It’s not cool. Im no spring chicken. I’ve coached football for a lot of years now and been a fan and watched a lot of football. There’s always something I see and go, huh….that’s cool! Thats good! I need to see if I can incorporate that and make it better with my guys. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I realize, somebody knows more than me on that concept. Its ok.

Sorry all for the LONGGGG post. I love Eagles fans and love their passion. I just want people here to show passion but at the same time, have class with each other. PLEASE.

I’m so disappointed in this year’s Eagles team, that I about had a bit of a meltdown this past Sunday. Then I got to thinking..you know what, this team has actually been pretty average all year. No blowout wins. Lost to a BAD Jets team. Got LUCKY vs Chiefs and Bills.

Really are probably a 9-8 team that has 11 wins. Too bad. I really was hoping this group could stay together and be in the top 2 in the NFC for the next FEW years. Bummer! See. I was wrong. Darn it. 😱

We’ve had different guys playing out there. Was it Slay? No he’s out. Was it Brabery? Was it Ringo? Was it Ricks? Big picture is smaller picture in this instance very possibly. Sounded like you described a CB that backpedaled too hard …too early. That player needs to tighten up. Big picture…if it’s all of them need to tighten up. Both can be true.

They all played with the huge cushion all season long...and easy pitch and catch for 1st downs.   That's the big picture.

To me Pedey, Taylor and Schwartz is greater than Siri, Johnson and all DCs since.

I think to pretty much everyone.

I'm calling it... Joe Montana is better than Marcus Mariota... just so no confusion on the " I called it stats "

To me this all points back to Rosie. So many positives got us to that SB last season. But his negatives are a big factor in why we didn’t win it. He fired Pedey silupposedly over the Press Taylor situation. Which lost us Schwartz also. How similar is this whole situation to Jerry Jones firing Jimmy Johnson? Fired good coaches over his ego. Wanted everybody to believe it was all him…not the strong coaching that won us that SB. Coach Rosie loved the most that he hired was Gannon. But Schwartz doesn’t let AR do that to him in the second half of the SB.  It was practically only two important games all of last season. NFC Championship game and the SB. Give Gannon all credit for Reddick taking out Purdy and winning Conference crown, but lay blame of SB loss squarely at his feet as well.

I agree...from 2016....it all points back to Howie.

If Rosie had made that Patrick Queen trade it might have covered up many of the other flaws. No doubt we’d be the top seed. Expecting to win it all. Guy ended up having a phenomenal season.

Yeah...because Baltimore wanted to trade him.   Have this conversation with a Baltimore fan so they can have a good laugh.

Can't trade Hurts.... too much dead $$.   Plus he would have to agree.

Moving on back to reality.

Better chance that Patrick Queen was available....Ziggy was a better pick than Lane....and Dallas knows how to manage the cap.....than a Jalen Hurts trade in 2024...when his cap hit is $13 mil and a trade creates $98 mil of dead cap space.

No shot. Jalen Hurts is your QB minimal through 2026,probably through 2028.

I don't see him as a long tenure QB... but this next few years is his time.  We are all in with him and then hopefully we find the next guy before we enter the 2030s.

The Hurts contract in my opinion  ... is the best contract in the league...by far.

The 73 mil cap hits for 5 years.... for an average starter is extremely cheap.

If Hurts performs at an above  average level... then it's even better.

You compare it to other contracts around the league... there are other QBs with caps hits larger over 2 years .. over twice his number over the next 4.

There are players at other positions that have much larger cap hits

Would you want a starting QB at $73 mil or Hargrave at $84 mil?

This is the first contract written like this, I expect there to be more like it once the league figures it out.

The difference... with the Eagles...Lurie has an obsession with having a franchise QB/ face of the franchise,  so he will always lock them up early...with large #s, but light cap hits with outs down the road.

Early commitment... getting his guy paid, putting him in as the face...but with the way out a few years later if needed.

Some still a little slow on the big picture of how this has enabled the Eagles to be players in free agency all along,  while teams like Dallas haven't been able to be.

McNabb got paid early...Vick got paid early...Wentz got paid early....Hurts got paid early.

The next guy is going to get paid early.  That's Lurie with the need to put the face of the franchise in place ASAP.

We know image is a big thing here.  They are set in their ways... good and bad.

We eat all that Option money is what you’re saying? Don’t really need the question mark I guess truely.

Just posted a link where another person had heard rumors of a Queen trade this summer. You gotta remember that Queen wasn’t universally praised as playing anywhere near the level he’s beginning to play at now. He did have an incredible season!

  • Author

So I think possibly Queen agreed to play things out because the Ravens might have made a handshake deal about things. Maybe they agreed to tell him they won’t Tag him this offseason. I think it’s possible. Or even guarantee a tag and sign. Anybody that trades for Queen next offseason at the price he’d command? Ohh….that new contract better have been hashed out already.

Franchise Tag number has increased big time for LBs recently.

  • Author

Around 21 mil is the expected tag number. Not just a few dimes and nickels for sure.

That’s what I was asking about. Wouldn’t be hard to leap to a conclusion Zona would much rather have Hurts than Murray. Fourth overall  pick. Dreaming of moving from the 28th pick to the 4th. Is an interesting fantasy. Of how far would you go? What would you do scenario?

  • Author

PFF had Penix at 28th. I’d take him at 4. We’ll see come draft day what it takes.
