Its so weird not to have a Sunday morning game.

I hate the Cowpies so much that I decided not to watch them other than when they play the Eagles. I hate them. I want Lamb to get blown up and Parsons too. Want Dak to have a FIVE interception game.

Really stinks because they are playing such good ball

Neither was AJ Brown. Titans were negotiating with him to extend and get paid until….Hurts let’s AJ know Eagles willing to cough up larger dough. Then negotiations are cut off by AJ…forcing the trade. Actually fairly common occurance. Were even rumors of Eagles being one of the teams bidding on Queen this offseason. My guess is that Rosie wasn’t willing to pay up for a LB in the end. Queen decided hitting FA would be more lucrative than his offer…if rumors are to be believed.

Again... Baltimore was going all in to win.

You are such a Homer fan ...Like a Yankees fan that just expects to buy every player.   Every player is just available.   That's not how real life works.

30 other teams could have gotten Queen...but didn't.   30 other teams...one of them would have gotten AJ.

Two different situations.  Not every free agent to be... or unhappy player will have same result.

Queen..like many others, play out their final year in a situation.they know that is perfect for them to thrive.

LB in the 2023 Baltimore defense.... vs WR in the 2022 Tennessee offense.    Very much different.

The point about Queen wasn’t even actually about Queen. My point was that we needed to trade for a quality S and the best LB we could get our hands on…to become a contender. But everybody else here it seems felt we already were a contender.

Who is the RB in Indy?   Why didn't Howie get him?   Why didn't anyone of the other 30 teams?

Oops he stayed in Indy.   Because every situation is different.

AJ as a WR....had more leverage than a RB or LB.

Indy wasn't going to trade Taylor.  Tennessee wanted cap space and picks.  They didn't want to pay AJ.

Baltimore wasn't going to pay or trade Queen.  Queen's best scenario was hitting the open market this upcoming offseason after having a good season.

Each situation is different.

Then make the point clearly.  Instead of being your typical cryptic self.

My point was specifically about Queen. No hidden message.

Every other time other than Queen you suggest any player and GM wish to sign extension first chance possible. But wasn’t just about Queen ever anyway. He was the guy I stated we needed to be a contender. Which looks more true today than it even did week one when I was stating it. You demand specific trade options of players. But no real way for us fans to know which players can ever be attained. Exactly why I speak and was speaking more vaguely about need for a decent S and as good a LB as we could get. Didn’t know Byard was available. But made sense as a trade target to bring in. Who knows what LB we’re available this offseason through the trade deadline? If expectations were ever to try and win it all this season a trade had to be made for the best we could get. Didn’t happen. So you can look at it like we failed if you actually believed we were contender worthy…or it was wise to not go for a huge move on a team not likely to win it all this season. All depends on your point of view.

Titans were negotiating to pay AJ big money. Indy paid Taylor

Queens best situation should have been getting paid like a FA this season from us

It’s exactly why I think and speak like I do about such things. Because we aren’t privy to all information. Have to be more vague like decent S and best possible LB…than you constantly insisting on a specific player. There were like only four players being suggested as available for possible trade. But reality is 100 if the price was right. Of the four Budda Baker and Patrick Queen didn’t even end up being traded. Just shows how demanding specifics in this area is almost just foolhearty. Identifying the team weakness by position is all really needed to understand what direction the GM should be looking.

Trade for decent S and best possible LB. That was my original thought and statement

  • Author

But still believe if Rosie was willing to pay Queen 5 year at 100 mil extension the trade would have been made. Queen would have let Ravens know he wouldn’t be suiting up without getting paid this season. Ravens would have received a first round pick plus. So actually wasn’t necessarily derailing a championship run from them. They have other quality LB. So using an extra first rounder on another position could have made the Ravens even stronger. Players force trades all the time. Where have you been?

Exactly what you force and fail at. Trade options aren’t meant to be thought about in such specifics most situations. Who knows which players secretly behind closed doors are available? Only GMs. Because we only hear about the rare really disgruntled situations. No GM blasts that a player is being shopped until a deal is made. Because if it doesn’t happen then you have a pissed off player on your team not feeling valued. Should be fairly easy to comprehend and understand.

I was trying to be optimistic by coming up with a player(s) that would make the difference enough to bring us up to Contender level team. That’s how far o felt we were from being a contender…Byard and Queen. Still feel the same. But really I probably lean more towards not spending anything much extra this season on a team that won’t win it all. But a trade for Queen would have been long term…not just a one year ‘all in move.’

  • Author

I was fine with giving Baltimore the Nolan Smith pick and a 2024 third rounder along with paying a LB. Feels like to me …Rosie wasn’t.

  • Author

But now everything is looking back in hindsight. When the move needed to be done it was all projection. You had to realize Queen was an ascending quality player. He lit it up this season. So as long as he doesn’t get injured this postseason…he cemented his league wide value. But would seemingly also cement the chances of Baltimore being more willing to pay the Tag number. It’s at 20 mil. Big money all guaranteed but all demanding next years cap attention.

  • Author

But it’s very possible the Ravens secretly promised to not tag him.

  • Author

Right now, I’m still trying to be optimistic. Want to believe we can completely change everything to get hot this postseason to win it all. I do believe QB1 gives us a punchers chance.

Would go a long ways for us if that top ranked run D reappeared from early in the season.

Derek Barnett has been here for years not producing

So why is he tearing it up now?

Scheme this years does stink like you are saying. Just pointing out Barnett stunk here under several different DCs varying in schemes.

  • Author

Barnett came in very young though. Still isn’t an old player. Could easily make the case he’s at his prime at 27.

  • Author

Siri stated he utilized the extra day of prep to self scout. Could he have made a better statement?

All I got is he needed a change of scenery

Watching the Pack D and how much they are communicating. DE raises hands to tell teammates his receiver motioning away. MLB calling out D. S communicating to Corners. All in one play. Brings me back to Byard stating so soon after arrival about how he’s highlighting the need to communicate once coming here. Really haven’t seen much of it from my viewpoint….on the couch.
