We are in pretty rough shape can argue we need just about every spot on D side of the ball… S,CB, LB, Edge, even DT.

Ideally some young guys will step up to fill voids but Davis at DT been disappointing only guy we seem to have is Carter…really nothing behind Sweat/Reddick at edge neither guy is all that young….LB is a mess even when Dean is healthy… Slay/Bradberry looked old, S Blankenship is good but couldn’t stay healthy, Brown looked promising but now he will be recovering from ACL going into next season so how much will he really develop.

That’s just the D side of the ball then you can say we need RG possibly C depending on we feel about Jurgens taking over(assuming Kelce retires) depth at WR, TE could argue we need a RB swift is a FA I believe

28 million in cap was more what I was referring to. We need to "pick our fights" as I said but need to spend to get some top FA's. This is Spotrac about who is going to go away, not the under performers we have under contract. That is a different discussion. This site is about contracts and cap space

My fault thought we were just talking the overall shape of our roster which is what I was referring to

Yeah I already had some draft picks penciled in. Trotter(LB) in 2 and CB Tampa in 2. Round 1 I have Suamataia T/G who I posted earlier/ then Cade EStover at TE in round 3

I haven't had my coffee yet,my last brain cell is not up to speed(slow) yet lol

I’m not arguing this I’m just relying the info that is coming out lol.

besides not much you can change at that stage of the season not like we could put in a new offense at that stage

True, all I am saying is the plan you HAD failed when we faced above .500 teams( and also lost to the Cards really???) So after 3 years your plan stopped working? And you're going to come up with a "new" plan in 2 days before you meet with Lurie?

JMO,but someone put a muzzle on Hurts or he did it himself and I didn't like it from the beginning. The "plan" was altered? Or did Hurts stop playing? What??? Hurts looked like he was balls to the wall as a player last year, then got the big money and stopped that. So it was either a scheme change by Siri(aka the plan) or BS by Hurts and we need to figure that out first. The change in Hurts play was noticeable to me right away and it continued all year. culminating in the brain dead, bonehead safety at TB. Hurts can play his college ball vs lackluster teams(last 2 years and the start of this one were not hard) but when faced with real NFL teams he folds up the tent. When Hurts was playing we made it to the SB,then the major ball drop for 6 hurt us bad. Yet he still played well in that game otherwise. Maybe not winning the SB made him snap? IDK but that and getting the big money changed his play for the worse

No clue I’m just looking at both possible outcomes if we keep  Siri looking at coordinators

Georgia DC already have half there team on defense anyway or the

Panthers DC assuming he is let go make a ton of sense).
And on OC wouldn’t shock me if we tried for Josh Mcdaniels we talked to him about HC job(terrible HC) but had put together successful offenses as the OC

Klint Kubiak SF passing game coordinator would interest me as well.

HC options we talked about Vrabel, Slowik, Johnson(lions), Carroll some others

McCarthy staying in Dullaz

If no one goes after him as a HC would you consider Pete Carroll as DC? It's better than a "consultant" job

If he would take it sure but I don’t think Pete would go for being a coordinator

Well it's better than a consultant. If siri goes then I would take him as HC. Pete has already been "demoted" but as a DC it's not as far a demotion as "consultant" which is basically only a title

I don’t think Carroll is I’ll have any issues finding a HC job if/when he decides to go for one wouldn’t surprise me if he wanted to take a year off though.

Also wouldn’t be surprised if he wanted to go back to the college ranks doesn’t Washington have a HC vacancy

First stab at a "wish list" draft. They are all in places that are "gettable" 1)Suamataia-OT/G-BYU 2(pick 1) Jeremiah Trotter-LB-Clemson 2(pick 2) TJ Tamps-CB-Iowa St. 3) Cade Stover-TE-OSU 5(pick 1) Ainias Smith-WR(slot) Texas A&M

Except he didn't walk away,he was let go. He said he "fought hard" to remain the HC. Instead of firing him outright he was demoted to "consultant" He still wants to coach

If he was the DC here and Siri screws up next year(assuming he stays),BOOM,your next coach is already in the house

He still wants to coach

Didn’t say he didn’t want to still coach just said he could take the year off before going through the entire process of finding a new HC job and relocating

He wasn't planning on losing his job so I doubt he would take a year off. He loves the game too much,he would want to jump right back in. He is 72. First we need to decide on Siri. I don't think the collapse bodes well for him. The players seem to want him to stay, but that happens most times

We played like trash at the end of the year. It's not like we played well.If we made a showing and lost I doubt there would be a problem, but Lurie got EMBARRASSED in blowout losses and losing to AZ was just devastating when the division was on the line. IDK if Lurie wants to go through that again

It would also mean he wasn’t thinking about completely uprooting his family out of the state of Washington…

even Carroll son just took a job with the Washington huskies program…. Again think there is a lot more involved than just his desire for coaching.

Also haven’t heard about Carroll even interviewing for jobs at this point which also leads me to believe he might not be looking at jumping right back into coaching this year

He may be fine with this forced retirement. "Consultants" rarely come back into coaching. I'm sure he would be paid enough to keep his house In Seattle and rent one somewhere else. Schwartz took a year off and never came back. I thought Schwartz was an ok DC,but Howie never gave him any tools

The one job I could see Carroll considering though would be the chargers he spent a good chunk of time at USC wouldn’t even surprise me if they still have a home in the area

ALot of teams(including us) have not made the decisions yet

That would make sense

He is coaching the browns defense

Pretty sure every team that has a HC job open has set up interviews though and Carroll hasn’t even been linked to talking with anyone?
