Why wouldn't you take a LT? Top 5 pick most peeps would go BPA. I prefer BPA at position of need, but you wind up w/ a good player either way. Well at least potential - this team hasn't been able to develop good players lately. Picking potential and making them in to good NFL players are 2 different things.

Supposedly they drafted their future LT 2 years ago. Unfortunately he's injured so you can't evaluate whether he was worth the pick. Add that to the unexpected emergence of Mailata and you are pretty set at LT.

Besides, what makes you thing they are gonna do any better with this pick?

I was talking about the 1st round this past year (April 2020).  He was actually talking about the 2nd round instead, not the 1st.  You are talking about this upcoming draft.  😂

In response to you, if we have a top 5 pick this year, my first pick would be Chase.  However, if somehow Penei Sewell falls within our grasp, I would not be upset if that's the pick.  He's a generational LT and would probably be there for 10+ years almost guaranteed.

So was Tony Mandrich

NOTHING is guaranteed.

You got the _____ LSU Corner and your _____Ohio St corner. LSU guy is only 5’10” ....so that hurts. Ohio St Wade feels like another in the line of NFL corners coming out of that factory in Columbus. He’s definitely in the discussion.

Actually not sure Surtain is right for us. Excellent corner....but...a press man corner. Off coverage is supposedly his weakness. That and speed....he isn’t trying to guard the burner receiver.

Can’t say what will be the right or wrong fits for us we have no clue who will be here or not come the off-season.... Could have an entirely new coaching staff

If we keep Schwartz it looks like the D is headed for man to man in the secondary trying it this year but outside of Slay really don’t have the man CB.... so if CB is the target in the draft have to look for the best man CBs

Now they have reports put that Doug has already given up portions of play-calling.

Rich apparently been calling plays in the 2 minute drills- for what it’s worth generally where our O is looking it’s best

Press apparently has been given play calling as well but doesn’t really say what.

I don’t know if I believe that.

Idk either well at least the press part I could believe Rich calling plays in the 2 minute drills

Well we have S's for a DT event,or perhaps we have the WRONG coach?????. I would need to see them at the combine. Although they need to be decently fast, there are other attributes. Some CB's are better at route disruption and leaping ability, so it's hard for me to know what the "right choice" is,because they face every type of receiver not a 1 size fits all

If that is indeed happening it is a moronic approach.  Doug should either calls plays all the time or give it up entirely.  Would prefer to have either Scangarello or Duce calling the offense for the rest of the season.

IDK IMO it's hard to judge collegiate corners. You can draft a high dud or a late rounder that smokes 'em, so although I would like another, I am not convinced that should be the 1 pick. Really if I could get Parsons and Surratt, that would set my LB's for 4-5 years. But I know we don't draft LB's , especially TWO LOL (so sue me for thinking outside the "box" our draft has become). Besides Terrance Marshall at WR, I also like Spielman from Nebraska. Have to see where they settle in. I really would trade some of those 6 picks for a 4th

Reverse it. Let someone else call the 28 minute drill, then Ped can choke on the, bad decision, clock mismanaged, 2 minute disaster🤣, but maybe by then we would have a lead for a change

Not really did the same thing with Riech as OC he called plays during the 2 minute offense...

Duce has had no experience calling plays, ever. So why would anyone want him to start in the middle of the season? He cannot even get the RB rotation right so why have him call plays? Just doesn't make sense to me.

I mean... Why not? At some point every play caller had no experience. What better time to try things that when you're team is stuck in a rut and struggling? Can't do any harm. Can't be any less creative or unimaginative.

I mean not true Duce want to say he called plays during shrine game when our staff was the coaches.... He also called plays during the preseason.

He has more play calling experience then Press that’s for sure.

Also a RB rotation that avg. what over 5 yards a carry???? Not his fault the team doesn’t utilize the run

Our RB rotation consists of Sanders (or no Sanders). Hopefully Howard can add something

OK I was on Fanspeak and I will first show you the picks taken before us(they have us picking at 7 which could be too LOW at this point). But I cannot argue with those taken before we pick. The next post will show the remaining guys. There are 3 that stand out to me LMK who you would take(I know there's a LONG way to go)

1: R1P1 QB Trevor Lawrence - New York Jets
2: R1P2 QB Justin Fields - Jacksonville Jaguars
3: R1P3 EDGE Kwity Paye - Cincinnati Bengals
4: R1P4 CB Caleb Farley - Dallas Cowboys
5: R1P5 WR Jaylen Waddle - Detroit Lions
6: R1P6 WR Ja'Marr Chase - LA Chargers
4 OT Penei Sewell - Oregon
6 EDGE Gregory Rousseau - Miami
7 CB Patrick Surtain II - Alabama
10 DL Jaylen Twyman - Pittsburgh
11 CB Shaun Wade - Ohio State
12 EDGE Xavier Thomas - Clemson
13 LB Micah Parsons - Penn State

Yes please all of the above.

😉

I don't see Parsons going that late, but no matter,he would still be on the board. So who do you choose from this list?

I keep saying we need 5 first rounders LMAO

All of them. Just get all of them. Use cheat codes and whatever is needed. All of them please. Get it done.

For the same reason people want to see Hurts (even though he has no experience) ... to see what they can do.  Honestly, Doug's play calling is as bad as Wentz's QB play.

OK so here is the issue I have. Say Chase is there at 7. Would he matter? I'm not being nasty, but honest, Wentz cannot hit wide open guys, so what difference does the caliber of player make if you miss them anyway? IDK, I just can't see another #1 WR pick, although I would like to add one later. So, if we "don't draft LB's " that leaves Twyman or Wade or Surtain(which Ham says may not be a fit). If we pass on parsons in the above scenario, then I know we won't take a LB first for the next 150 years. Even so,there are a few LB's around in 2. Of course I like Wade because of bias, but if Twyman is working his body all year I'd like to see what he has. The issue with that is there is only older vids and he's not playing this year. So, I don;t know if that voluntary time off is good or bad for him. I suppose I would have to take a more known quantity which pushes me towards Wade, then maybe Surratt at LB in 2. Thoughts?
