Nope dont see that either

That’s all you touted was how Jefferson produced that in college. What you don’t think that will translate to the NFL now?

The thing has always been Reagor is more the player WE need. Having two excellent TEs and investing in a possession type slot WR doesn’t make us much better. We need outside speed. We need playmakers.

Owners have LARGE egos. They want to separate themselves from each other. Lets just say that most of them are around long enough that one Super Bowl win isn't getting the "Champion" job done. You know it when you see it. Jerry Jones is in the Hall of Fame with 3 Super Bowls. Al Davis with 3. Wellington Mara with 6 Titles between Championships and Super Bowls. I'm sure I am missing some owners. Of course we all know that Robert Kraft will eventually be there. None of these owners won any of those Super Bowls by themselves but they were smart enough to hire the right people who COULD win them for them and it didn't take any of these guys long to get rid of the wrong people if they made a hiring mistake and replace them with the right people.

So what's the number without the political type answer?   Does 2 SBs make you a champion  .... and again, how many owners have 2 or more SBs?   How many owners even have 1?

Of course I can fault Lurie and Banner for what Howie has done. Banner trained him! It wasn't like Lurie hired an outsider of the organization to come in after Banner was fired with new ideas. They kept the same ideas with a new person. We will just have to agree to disagree 93. I respect your opinion in a lot of things but if I am an Owner and I hire a head coach and GM together, They have 5 years to win a Super Bowl or they are done. If they win a Super bowl in those 5 years, they get another 5 to repeat. There is way too much talent out there to put up with mediocrity for any extended amount of time. One Super Bowl win in 26 years is mediocrity. IMO

The first and only GM to win a title.... in the 2nd year after taking control?    WE need more of that type of " fault"  in our city ..... i'm 47 years old  ... here are my championships..

Flyers 2 ... 1974 -1975

Sixers 1  ... 1983

Phillies 2 ... 1980, 2008

Eagles  1  ... 2017.

I need more GMs who screw up like Howie.     47 years X 4 sports .... 188 seasons ... 6 titles.  Howie was GM for one of them.   Thanks Howie.  You are one of my " champions"  along with Keith Allen, Paul Owens, Pat Williams and Pat Gillick.      Thanks for being one of the 5 men who made me experience the feeling of my team winning it all.    Like anything in life... you can't do it in " plural"  until you do it once.  Thanks for breaking that glass ceiling for my football team while EVERY OTHER GM has failed in my lifetime.

He just can’t be a GM because you know he only won 1 SB in 26 years of Lurie being the owner doesn’t matter he wasn’t even on staff until 2000 and wasn’t GM until 2010.... Doent matter Howie did in 10 years what the Philadelphia Eagles have not done in over 50 years and won a SB

I don’t really have a problem with him thinking he’s the best. It’s that he’s so upset about only being the 22nd pick in the draft. That  he’s bent about four WR going before him. That’s he’s on a personal revenge mission. It’s a team sport. Be a team player. Do what’s best for your team. Being he11 bent on making the Raiders pay seems childish at best. Try to prove the Vikes right. His focus is making the Cowboys pay, really? Just makes me feel even better about not picking him.

So when Brady keeps the list of QBs taken in front of him... Shady makes a point to do it.... Michael Thomas does it .... why is it different with Jefferson to have that attitude?  I believe he has to prove stuff obviously... but nothing wrong with having that attitude from the start.  In order to do what he wants, his focus automatically has to be on being hte best he can be and put in the work.   That is kinda of understood.    All the BS talk stuff is good in today's world where we need to make a story when there isn't one there.

Bottom line... for me I am glad we didn't take him because I want a different style WR.   good luck with 100 catches etc... I want the guy who can impact my team with 40-50 catches.  I already have volume.

Why would we judge Howie on what he actually accomplished in 10 years a GM When we can judge him on all the mistakes the Eagles have made through the years

Said it.In the next TWO seasons JJ will have more TD's and yards than Ward(and reagor-not COMBINED) barring injuries of course

Who has more impact on winning by making the game easier for his teammates..... an important thing to consider in sports.

I also belive the GM in 2010 was all BS... he had the title.   Joe Banner was the one who was setting up the dream team in 2011 ... doing all the cuts in 2010 and negotiating with Nnamdi's agent...etc.    The idea was that he started having influence in the 2012 draft.  2013 was more him .... 2014 ... split with Chip .... 2015 all Chip   ... 2016 more Howie ... 2017 -2019 Howie and Douglas.   It's more than just one guy.

The other thing you need to look at is that teams are at different stages in different years... different goals, different cap space, different amount of picks.    Very easy to be disapointed in the Eagles the last 2 years because the bar was set at the top.  Injuries were huge, and you can't deny that.    For these other teams and GMs.... lets say the Jets and SF as 2 examples... when you come from the toilet, it's easy to throw praise for a little success or perceived success.   I'd rather a guy seem to be a failure from not winning a title... than to go back to the 14 years bronze medal happiness a lot of us seemed to have during the Reid era.    Lets look back in 5 years and see if the success of the Jets and SF can match a 5 years success that the Eagles had from 2016 to 2020.   I will throw 2016 in there as a fair year 1 ... just like this year will be for the Jets under Douglas with the draft.  He gets a pass for last year when Ham was hoping he would have had his 7-9 team fighting for the last playoff spot in a 17th regular season game.    We will start that now.

SF ... we will start from Lynch's first year.  2017.  ... so he gets 2017 to 2021.     This is fair because remember.... Chip destroyed everything... we were in such bad shape, moral was low, cap space was low with all the money he gave away... the janitor was unhappy ... plants in the office were dying...etc.   So is all fairness...

2016 - 2020 for Eagles
2017 - 2021 for 49ers
2020-2024 for the Jets

Great test to measure Howie vs Lynch vs Douglas and see who can be labelled as a " champion"       Overall record ... playoff appearance ... playoff wins .... SB appearances ... SB wins.  I'm curious to see if Howie can be worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as these future HOF GMs?   We shall see.

Let’s see how they actually play out before trying to hype of Joe Douglas.... I listed all his players here he had a hand in picking as well but somehow he only gets the praise for the good ones and Howie gets all the bad picks lmao

If you remember, I said he has 5 years to win a Super Bowl.

A cpuple of parts to a GM... part of the job is to pick the coach.   The other part is to pick players in a way to help in the event of injuries.    So in all complete fairness... john Lynch and Joe Douglas get absolutely ZERO sympathy or credit ... if their teams get devasted with injuries .... injuries such as ... the QB not bieng able to finish 3 years in a row... losing 3 RBs... multiple injuries to OL, DL, WR and CB etc.   No excuses because the coach you pick and the backups you pick... are there to be " next man up ... you all you got... you all you need"

You know... just to make things as 100% objective as we can, we need to keep things absolutely equal.  So when injuries occur .. it will be as much Joe Douglas and John Lynch's fault as it was Howie.  Can't be one sided.    If everything counts ... then everything counts.  So  .. everything WILL count!    Good luck Howie, John and Joe.

So would you have fired Ozzie Newasome???? Since it took him 11 years to win 1???? Or Sean Payton he hasn’t won since 06....Also shuffling through guys every 5 years is not a formula for success either look at Cleveland and all the massive changes they keep having to make.

Yes I would have fired Newsome and No I wouldn't have fired Payton because I would have thrown him out of the league.

You would have fired basically every coach and GM in the league the minus maybe a Belicheat

Nope belicheat would have been fired by Wrang also...Won 3 SBs but had a drought of 10 years before he won his 4th

Would've suspended Bellicheat for Spygate

IDK,I thought getting TD's was why we play the game

IDK maybe Theilen moves out year 1

Didn't you bet he will get BOTH more TDs and yards?

Hence my comment.

So are we betting JJ will have more TDs, more yards or more of both in the next 2 seasons combined?

Phillies  ... 1980,

I was at game 6 when the Phillies won the World Series against the Royals. Still have the ticket stubs along with the Philadelphia Inquire the next day. Even got to see a guy I played legion ball and Central League baseball with (Greg Gross) play. Good year that year. For any of you Phillies fans that remember Greg Gross, he is now the Manager of a AAA baseball team for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Reno Nevada. He currently lives in West Chester Pa. I also played baseball with (Butch Wynegar) who played for the Twins and Yankees (Catcher) and is the hitting instructor for a AA team in Bradenton Florida where I live. The Marauders Pirates

Can't believe we're still talking about Jefferson. Hey, I wanted him too! Knew we had a cluttered mid-field, fell in love w/ the YAC, convincing myself the YAC actually made him a downfield threat. Doesn't work that way, doesn't draw the D deep.

This is the way I feel about the can’t develop a WR crap. Our WR coach just came in this summer.

Absolutely, 10 years is "way" more than enough time to win a Super Bowl

Problem is these guys jobs are on the line. So they try and squeak out a winning season instead of doing what it takes to win it all.

Getting fired does many a person a favor in life. It makes them look at themselves squarely if they are stuck in a rut and helps them make the necessary changes in life to become successful. Andy Reid made a lot of changes in his scheme after he was fired and finally won a Super Bowl although it took him 7 years to do so. I don't think he would have ever made those necessary changes without being fired first. A lot of people fall into the category. Bill Belichick was another one. Tony Dungy was fired in Tampa and won a Super Bowl with the Colts. All three of these guys changed their philosophies after they were fired and went on to success elsewhere with what they learned from the experience. In fact it was Tony Dungy who came to one of my grandsons high school football scrimmages and got upset watching one of Manatee's star running backs refuse to block because he thought he didn't have to. He told the kid right in front of the rest of the team, "The next time you think you are indispensable to the team, put your figure into a bucket of water and look at the hole it makes when you pull it out".  That is what someone has to tell Howie, but it sure isn't going to be Jeffery Lurie!  LOL

You mean like losing his job and coming back winning a SB in under 5 years yea someone needs to tell Howie to look in the mirror lol and only going into his 3rd year removed from winning said SB so by your logic counting this year he still ha e 3 years to win another

I think Howie knows better then anyone that if he isn’t successful Lurie will replace him...Might have been temporary but he already lost his GM job once
