I was at game 6 when the Phillies won the World Series against the Royals. Still have the ticket stubs along with the Philadelphia Inquire the next day. Even got to see a guy I played legion ball and Central League baseball with (Greg Gross) play. Good year that year. For any of you Phillies fans that remember Greg Gross, he is now the Manager of a AAA baseball team for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Reno Nevada. He currently lives in West Chester Pa. I also played baseball with (Butch Wynegar) who played for the Twins and Yankees (Catcher) and is the hitting instructor for a AA team in Bradenton Florida where I live. The Marauders Pirates

Greg Gross... the pinch hitter that all the rest will be measured by in my eyes for the Phillies.  Excellent player.   The bunt off of Ryan in the NLCS is one of the most key plays in franchise history.

Absolutely, 10 years is "way" more than enough time to win a Super Bowl

The last guy to hold the trophy ... took 20 years and about 1000 Hawaiian shirts.

Getting fired does many a person a favor in life. It makes them look at themselves squarely if they are stuck in a rut and helps them make the necessary changes in life to become successful. Andy Reid made a lot of changes in his scheme after he was fired and finally won a Super Bowl although it took him 7 years to do so. I don't think he would have ever made those necessary changes without being fired first. A lot of people fall into the category. Bill Belichick was another one. Tony Dungy was fired in Tampa and won a Super Bowl with the Colts. All three of these guys changed their philosophies after they were fired and went on to success elsewhere with what they learned from the experience. In fact it was Tony Dungy who came to one of my grandsons high school football scrimmages and got upset watching one of Manatee's star running backs refuse to block because he thought he didn't have to. He told the kid right in front of the rest of the team, "The next time you think you are indispensable to the team, put your figure into a bucket of water and look at the hole it makes when you pull it out".  That is what someone has to tell Howie, but it sure isn't going to be Jeffery Lurie!  LOL

Sooooooooooo .... what happened in 2015 where he was in charge of ordering paper instead of being the GM .... and then coming back to win the SB in 2 years time.... that all doesn't count?

I think Howie knows better then anyone that if he isn’t successful Lurie will replace him...Might have been temporary but he already lost his GM job once

IDK... that was so long ago I forgot.... its hard to endure the pain of 2 seasons without a SB win..... especially for Eagles fans who are used to winning a SB every other year  ....   IDK what I am missing????

This guy doesn't draft well in this position... he doesn't agree with me..... well this guy held the Lombardi trophy about 27 months ago.    "  A man needs to be fired ...etc."    dude was fired 5 years ago... won a SB 2 years later.... didn't take 7 years to learn like the man in KC.   They had a team that won, they tried to extend that window a couple years... the one time in our history where it was worth going for it and where the players who just won it for you deserved you to go all in ... we take the shots, get guys injured and now we all complain.    This is the results and the " rebuild"  or " retool"  year now ... we need our young guys to step up.

What did he learn, he went after speed which was missed on the outside... did not go Cook or Anderson ... two mid level short term vets that were expensive ... he went the drsft route which cements the idea of speed into the culture.   This was the right way IMO.   Forget the band aids... not at this point.   We have a 2 year window where drafting is key ... more key that usual.  Then we can go FA route for holes in 2022.  But i'm looking to get these young guys in there and see what they can do while a few more of our older vets can make a run at it.  All while the QB takes over the team.

This is the way I feel about the can’t develop a WR crap. Our WR coach just came in this summer.

I feel the same way this WR already a failure because the guy before him was a failure no way he can develop WRs since Eagles history shows we can’t develop WRs so he is automatically terrible

He still sponsors a golf outing every year with the proceeds going to ALS.  Its at the Old York Road Country Club, Ambler Pa. Costs 250 bucks to get in the tournament.

This whole conversation was started because of the cap space or lack there of for next year. I think YOU brought it up. Now you and 93 can defend the man that put us negative 42 million next year all you want. It makes no difference to me. Jeffery Lurie is 1-25 in Super Bowls and most of it is his own doing. I come from a world where the buck stops here. 1- 25 doesn't make you a Champion in my book. Maybe it does in yours. Again it makes no difference to me. Lets all get a participation trophy!  End of story for me!

Howie was put in charge in 2016 ... won a SB the year later.     You want him fired?   After all the crap football you saw from 1960 to Vermeil .... one SB and you want him fired?   LOL

Never said that either lmao but I’m fully about given a guy his chance before judging them...

Watched some film this morning of K’Von Wallace against Justin Jefferson. Fans of Jefferson must be big fans of Wallace. Wallace was all over him. So much so that Brady clearly was having to work hard scheming Jefferson open. Having to use picks and motion to try and get him away from Wallace.

  • Author

Wallace isn’t the fastest corner....but Jefferson wasn’t getting away from him. K’Von’s 4.55 forty speed was enough to be all in Jefferson’s hip pocket.

LSU averaged 48.9 points per game. Averaged! LSU averaged 564 yards per game. Averaged!

In that context...100 yards and a TD aren’t even that big of a deal.

Are we still on this Fing topic?

Are there more opportunities for yards and TDs for each player in the record breAking number 1 offense or the 54th ranked offense? To me that matters. I’m not putting either side all on one WR.

Is Going against the top corner harder or getting schemed open by motion, picks and trying to get matchups vs TEs?

2,572 yards of offense for 24 TDs is Reagor in college

2,445 yards of offense and 24 TDs is Jefferson in college
