Sure...but just looking forward. That could be our backfield for a few seasons....locked in if Howard can deliver his role.

Bengals have Burrow. I would look at O line for them. This is another tough position we(once again) put ourselves in. Hurts is a rook, unless he just smokes everyone,we could be looking at a round 1 QB move up. Then can Wentz come back? Which leads to I have no clue whatsoever what we want to do(neither do they). We make all these messes for ourselves. It's borderline comical if it wasn't  so sad. I always could guess what we would take first, right now I have no idea whatsoever

I’m not thinking QB at all. More thinking we can get Chase. But Bengals aren’t going QB obviously so.....we get second choice of nonQBs. It’s what we need. We need to restock the pantry. If we are still a train wreck at QB after next season then we’d still be in position to draft one the following draft most likely.

You’re so glass half empty. We could have our three headed backfield in position for the next three years. Check that box off.

I think if we get that top elite WR then the WR position we can check the box on. Reagor, Fulgham, Hightower, Ward, elite top dog and then we have Quez, Burnett and JJAW.

I’d say that’s how close the offense maybe is. It looks bad. But we get Dillard back to at least compete with Mailata. Get Brooks and Johnson back. Get a super stud WR and the O will be ready to roll. Gotta get the QB fixed. I think getting the rest fixed will help that position. Maybe a third day third stringer TE(since I’d figure to trade Ertz).

So then the rest of the draft would be towards the defense finally. Probably a second round CB to start.

Jets—QB, Jags-QB, So where do the Bengals go? That could be all we have to deal with to figure out the draft puzzle on our first choice.

Have to figure they go Sewell.

SOOO-OMG back to this BS again-did we screw up (again) letting  Vaitai walk?

He signed a deal worth $50M with Detroit ... there was no way we were going to come within the same solar system yet alone zip code in matching that considering our cap situation.

And hopefully someone new calling the offense.  If Doug isn't canned I sure as hope there is at least a directive from above that he needs to hire a legit OC (not promoting Taylor, Scang, or MM) and hand off play calling duties.  As long as Doug is in charge of that I fear it doesn't really matter how much talent we have, it will be wasted.

Everybody was saying the same stuff last year about McVay and Goff. They both were in a slump after their SB loss. Had just paid Goff and they were freaking out. Then everybody seems to be talking about how great they are this year.

The directive from above is why we got rid of the OC. Groh i believe is a good coach. Just didn’t have that OC experience...so had to grow into the job. Just like how we had to fire McDermott. He wasn’t good enough to be our DC, remember? You got to have patience sometimes. I want to give Pedey more power and let him do his own thing. Don’t need Rosie and Lurie dictating everything to him.

You have to remember that we are starting six rookies/first-year starters on offense (Hurts, Fulgham, Reagor, Mailata, Herbig, Driscoll) and are getting significant snaps from second-year players Sanders, Scott and Ward. I haven't been thrilled with the play calling, but I think we have to give this offense time to get some experience before replacing people. I am looking forward to seeing what they do the rest of the year and how Hurts does.

Point taken.  But I suppose I wasn't on board with Groh simply because, at the time, our window was as wide open as it is going to get ... I didn't feel we had the luxury of time to let him learn on the job.  I think it was in our best interest to add a seasoned play caller, that had proven themselves at this level (someone like a Jim Caldwell would have been perfect not only for the offense but in helping Wentz too).  I suppose at this point though, we do have the luxury of time as I don't see us being legitimate contenders in the immediate future ... at best we are a year or 2 away.

Just don’t think we can keep going to the Lions for our guys. Coaches(Schwartz and Marty) and players(Tate,Slay...). I have a Lions fatigue that’s set in. Just don’t see how we will get where we want by taking all these Lions castoffs.

Devonta Smith is better. Trust me I was right about JJ before lol

LOL OH like we couldn't have drafted a nice RB last year? More bad planning. Apparently you can't see where this disaster begins

IDK wouldn't a TOP DL guy be better? Not only can you improve that position itself, but you could give some relief to the secondary. Thats a 2 for 1 deal. (BTW we can't develop WR's) And even if we did, Ped can't scheme them. Lots of WR's that can help us,doesn't have to be a round 1

I will ask AGAIN-did we screw up letting Vaitai walk?

Maybe Goodwin too

Reagor was our "super stud WR" play remember? And I also made a bet with you that JJ would beat Reagors nutz (and he's killin it). We better fix these lines on BOTH sides,or getting Stud position players will be pointless

Over how  many years though its not 50 mil a year . Didn't we pay non stat Djax/ low effort Alshon  about that amount per year each?

So, that's MUCH worse, (you know having a guy locked in for 5 years) than paying 4 million for a guy who should be in a retirement home and paying multiple millions for WR's on their downside which forced us to go spend MORE money to get Fulgham (their best move by far) Can you see the stupidity trend here?
