The math tells you to kick the FG.

Not with the way our kicker is playing also not to mention the missed kicks in the game shortly after. Thinking the wind was way more of a factor on the kickers

Wentz has a contract too 😉

He does indeed. 2 wonderful Howie moves.

Wow Peedy looked disgusted that Hurts played well and was key to the teams victory...Funny thing, before the game ... folks were worried that the Saints #1 D would overwhelm Hurts. No one gave our Birds a snowball shot in hell to win. I am sure like me many here thought we could win, if the Stars aligned . If Peedy stuck to a game plan that emphasizes the run game... This OL competed against a ferocious Saints top ranked D didn't give up a sack... Wow. How much of Wentz issues was him trying to play HERO ball...holding on to the ball too long, trying to live up to his contract. Is our talent that bad or is it the failure of our coaches to play our young guys... the NOT Ready for Prime Time excuses is what we're told.... My eyeball test  ... Hurts looked ready for the moment. His deep balls were accurate with velocity.

Peedys presser felt like he tried to imply,  Hurts performance was incidental in the teams victory ... that the team play overall was elevated which was the reason for the victory... Meaning Coach speak ...BS... Peedys demeanor in his Presser  was Sour...This victory against the TOP team in the NFC is a real statement win and we have history with those saints. Very few experts and even some of us Homers had this as a loss. I wanted us to lose that game On our path to get a top 5 pick, Hell I want us to lose out.  I agree with Sen...It felt good though to watch us beat a good team that can't stand my Eagles.

It doesn't have to be this or that or the other.  We definitely had much better play from the QB position, I thought the play calling was better, and I thought the rest of the team stepped up and played better (whether that was because they were energized by the play of Hurts or were just sick and tired of not playing well ... who knows).

$6M dead money cap hit if cut in 2021, drops to only $2.3M if cut in 2022 (but also yields $2.5M in cap savings).  So seems we are stuck with him for a year at most.  But hope they bring in some competition for him this upcoming offseason anyway.

I don't think they should waste another roster spot on a kicker for league minimum. Just another Howie mess.

I'm talking about using one of the 90 roster spots in camp to push him.  He needs to feel some heat, not just be handed the position.

That’s possible not much we can do now though fully expect competition in the off-season

One random thought from the game. I don't think we beat them if Brees is healthy, so there's a pretty big asterisk on this game. But even with that being said, our oline with three first-year players vastly outplayed their offensive line, and our dline vastly outplayed their dline.

That is pretty big considering that the Saints are a Super Bowl contender. They have a huge advantage over us in WRs and DBs. Hopefully as Reagor, Hightower and Fulgham get better, that WR disparity will be reduced. We do have to get better in the secondary, and I think that should be the focus of the draft. But we have the pieces in place on both lines, which is a large part of the equation already solved.

Though Will Lutz missed a pretty makeable 45 yarder as well and that dude is damn near automatic

He kicks most of the time in a dome. All of those kickers look great until they get outside.

I don’t think there is a big asterisk at all they were on a 9 game win streak the D was the best in the game... Hill was fine previous weeks. They were a healthy team overall and we were riddled with injuries. Do we lose if brees is healthy maybe do we win if we had a healthy OL and D???

The man been good kicker not like philly was the first game he kicked outside lol

One thing I will say about Hurts, I don't think any qb in the country has improved so much in his mechanics, pocket presence and throwing accuracy from his first few years in college to his first year as a pro.

His tape at Alabama is different from his tape at Oklahoma, and his tape from Oklahoma is completely different than what we say yesterday. So what that tells me is that he is a player who is coachable and will continue to get better.

I see a lot of people saying he is just a running qb, but I think he took what the defense was giving him. Ertz and Jeffery aren't going to get open against the Saints secondary, so if those are the guys you are going to put out there, he is going to have to find another way to generate yards.

Elliott has been missing PATs and chip shot FGs.  Like Wentz, he needs to get his head straight.

Wondering if he doesn’t have some kind of injury. It also could just get the getting paid thing. That big check changes your lifestyle. Happened to plenty of players. They are just human no matter what people’s opinions are on them getting paid and having to deliver on that.

It disputing this at all actually makes me wonder if we go for it more on 4th because of a slight lack of faith in the kicker. And as GBfL said if that  is the case we need a new kicker most likely

Snap counts are in.

Eagles-Saints snap counts: Josh Sweat comes up big in limited action - Bleeding Green Nation

Ertz and Jeffery are getting too many snaps. I don't know why Fulgham isn't out there, but it is what it is. I think Wallace hasn't been great. The decision to release Will Parks now looks even worse. Once again, the team got Schwartzed.

Tough that you want these young guys getting reps. But aren’t happy with whom those young guys are vs which vets are playing. Epps and Wallace need to get in these games. Gotta see what they are working with and how to develop. Fulgham is making the team next year. Just don’t think we really need to see much more to figure that out. But the offense has been running quite vanilla. Mostly because of the Oline problems and young inexperienced receivers. So playing Alshon might actually open up the offense a little allowing a complete route tree. Not about production so much as possibilities of playcalling. He allows the other receivers to stay simple. Just a guess on my part...but feel it’s educated.

I’m also curious as to you know leaning on a ground game actually aided our offense.

Hurts 18 carries yes some were him running from a designed pass but he had a ton of designed runs as well

Sanders 14 Scott 3 Reagor 1 for a combined 36 runs vs only 3 passes

We have been saying all year that the ground game was a strength that we just refused to use

Because we got the lead. Always easier(and advisable) to run with the lead. Much harder to stick to the run when down multiple scores. Cutdown on some of the errors also. So you can run more whenyou get first downs. Nothing kills  rushing attempt numbers like not getting first downs.

No we were running before that so this is just a lame excuse for pass happy coaches to use to abandoned the run

I’d say we had our best Oline configuration of the season. Mailata, Seumalo, Kelce, Herbig and Driscoll. Lane had a horrible season. Peters was terrible. Like pulled one foot out of the athlete grave terrible. Pryor had a tough season. Opeta just didn’t have much experience. Jamon Brown was abysmal. Toth offered nothing good. I think we got Juriga in a little. Who else am I forgetting?
