Would have been the fourth pick with a loss. Now sit ninth after...?victory?

Hurts playing well the rest of the year is so much more important than draft position.

If yesterday showed us anything, it's that without a decent qb, even really good teams can play really bad.

The asterisk is because, if Brees is healthy, I think the Saints are better than the Eagles. I would put them as one of the top three teams in the NFL right now, with the Packers and Chiefs.

I don't think the Eagles are at that level. But I do think our oline and dline are in the conversation for best in the league, and with Mailata playing like he has, we will go into next season with the best oline in football with Lane and Brooks coming back, even if Kelce retires.

The hope is that our young receivers turn into something (it would be nice to get them playing time now) and that we improve our defense in the draft. If we can do that, and if Hurts can turn into Dak Prescott or Wentz can find the 2017 version of himself, this is a Super Bowl team.

So the asterisk is indicative of the fact that although we beat a Super Bowl team, we did it because without Brees they are pretty average. And with decent qb play, we are better than an average team. But we aren't a Super Bowl tea

Winning three straight. Well two were against the Falcons. One was against the Broncos. I think that was the game the Broncos were forced to play a WR at QB even. So let’s be real about what was happening.

Why an asterisk!....Any given Sunday...Atlanta, Broncos without their WR/ QB can win...Here is my irk....BEFORE the game NONE of the experts gave our Rookie QB a Snowball shot in hell to beat the # I ... D in the NFL. Check my comments before the game...Without Brees all the experts still expected Taysom Hill and the Saints D to destroy the Eagles based on how Wentz and Doug have failed all season long. An asterisk as explained, in my mind is derogatory towards Hurts. We ALL are entitled to OUR opinions ... instead of recognition for a magnificent win by our rookie... Hurts performance yesterday was One of the top performances by a 1st start Rookie against the leagues top rated D...EVER....Hurts performance was second only Lamar Jackson on a list of maybe 6 players EVER in the NFL. The way Carson and Doug have used the same resources all season long.  Hurts was good yesterday....Not ... Hurts was good BUT...asterik...ohhhhhh please...After watching a Crappy Doug and Carson incompetent performances ALL season long. You want an Asterisk after a delicious win that Hurts gave us...hahahahaha.

I don't want them to trade Carson. Toooo much vested in Wentz ....unless Hurts becomes spectacular....even then Wentz deserves to compete for the job. I still love the old Wentz hope we bring in somebody and at least try to right the ship and not go out and trade him away. I think he is worth it.

Seem tad nit picky to me I get it though we likely don’t win if brees is in. But then you have to add the asterisk to what would we look like with a healthy Brooks, Lane, Dillard(no clue what he is but could be good).... Healthy D as well I mean Saints didn’t really get anything going until our secondary got reshuffled from injuries.

Injuries are what they are and no team is dealing with injuries worse then us maybe SF

BG93 Like many here ... you are not ALWAYS agreeable with some of the opinions posted here. and will respond in  kind..I agree with your comment. Permit me to Coin part of you statement..." Seem a tad nit picky to me."

It's so much of a cess pool. You used to be able to say "Oh this coach or that coach needs to go",because some were solid. Same with players. Now it's such a mish mash of BS that changes from one game to the next. I hope Hurts can give us consistency SOMEWHERE and I'm hoping that wasn't a 1 game wonder. Just sad how inept this team is top to bottom

Double egded sword. You start a young QB,you gotta go for the win or then you have 2 QB's with no confidence, so pick your poison

Um, he is basically your cap space issue. Most QB's are. I'm fine with trying to right the ship, fact remains he's had all year and done nothing except deteriorate. Nothing worse than a QB who "starts slow and fades fast", especially when they are the highest paid player you "own"

It's not meant to be critical of Hurts. If anything it is lauding him for carrying a team with less talent past a team with more talent.

We got better qb play than our opponents yesterday, which is the primary reason why we won. We have lost so many games this year because our qb play was worse than our opponents.

The asterisk is only to point out that, if we want to compete for a Super Bowl, we need to fix some areas so that we can compete with the Chiefs, Packers and Saints, since Brees, Rodgers and Mahomes aren't all going to be injured when we need them to be.

Picking your poison at four would be much easier LOL

I wanted the team to play well, but lose. All season For the most part play calling was an issue on O and D....Run the ball... OL is old... the replacements are not talented enough?... whether The Dealmaker Rosie surrounded Carson with any real talent.? Why was Jeffery starting over the kids.? Until Hurts performance leading this team to victory yesterday. We were questioning EVERY position and Coach on this team. Today there is a possibility that we could make the playoffs. A long shot.... but still possible. Until yesterday before the game if you asked me this team would be in a major rebuild mode. After this win  and should the winning continue. What now becomes our needs...New Coach, New GM?

It’s stupid to win. Jobs are on the line so these guys have to. What’s best for the franchise is lose. Can’t we ever do what’s best for the franchise? Feel like we reached on some of these old guys to win now. Wasn’t best thing for the franchise.

Money...was the need before and after

and great....could move from fourth draft pick to nineteenth. Real victory

Trini I like your attempt at positivity. But you did notice what we lost in the win , right? Not just the draft position. McLeod won’t be ready for next season. He’s older with an ACL...not good. Barnett, Malik and Sweat hurt. Maddox and Slay. That’s just from yesterday’s game. Feel like I’m forgetting somebody.

I think people have to realize that, when you hire a new coach or a new GM, there is a very high probability that they aren't going to be any good. Do we really want to swap Doug for the next Chip Kelly? Or Howie for some unknown quantity?

Good GMs and head coaches are extremely hard to find. And we saw yesterday that our biggest problem this year was poor qb play, and Wentz's unexplainable regression. You can't blame the coaches or GM for that.

I was ready to fire them if Hurts was horrible or the team played badly. But if you look at that victory, the reason we won was because we were coached better and had better players on the field. So I wouldn't change that for a new cast who are most likely going to be worse.

JSB, I’d add in the Oline. Best starting combo we had this year.

Jalen Hurts is only 22 he has shown such growth and development so far. From his Bama days to OU to now in the NFL... That has to excite many people on our team fans scouts around the league.

He already has a gorgeous deep ball needs to get more consistent with it but reminds me a lot of Wilson deep balls.... Maybe I should compare it to Foles first to lower the bar some.

Miles Sanders vs. NFL's best D #1 LA: 20-95 (4.8), TD, 131 total
#2 N.O.: 14-115 (8.2), 2 TD, total
#3 PITT: 11-80 (7.3), 2 TD, total
#5: SF: 13-46 (3.5), 76 total
#8: GB: 10-31 (3.1), 31 total #10 BAL: 9-118 (13.1), 112 total ________
Total: 77-485 (6.3) 98 total yards/game

He really has shown improvement each year. Some have mentioned him getting the start earlier. I think he has benefited from getting some NFL seasoning. Maybe he could have come in a game or two earlier but...don’t think he was ready the first half of the season. Still has a ton of room to grow. One thing he shows is he’s coachable. Many other things have been brought up. But that’s one main area it seems Wentz hasn’t been. I’ve blamed Press for being a crappy QB coach. But maybe it’s really just on Wentz. Got a big head and ego that only grew with his paycheck. So I’m now feeling much more forgiving of Taylor the coach. Guy might be excellent. Might be deserving of the OC title under Pedey. He’s not experienced so need to give him a little room for growth. That’s one of the main things I’m taking away from this last game. I blamed the QB regression on his position coach. Many blamed the HC. But really it might be the ego beast that we created. So maybe this is exactly the gut check Carson needed.

Just no denying the way the whole team stepped up in Wentz absence. Happened under Foles. Happened again with Hurts. Clearly something going on there.

I'm talking about using one of the 90 roster spots in camp to push him.  He needs to feel some heat, not just be handed the position.

But what heat is he going to feel? He knows we can't cut him.

So if we can pull Wentz, we can pull Elliott(I mean if you still want to win games lol)

I actually think in some ways that Elliott contract is worse than the Wentz one (if Wentz is unable to turn it around here).

I really hope Hurts is good.

If he keeps running the ball like he did yesterday i expect he'll wind up like RG3

We've had draft fails at every spot. You may even consider selling the farm for Wentz a draft error no?

No I don’t. I thought it was the only move. We were rewarded our only Super Bowl for it.
